Lion Hotel

No. 2 on my list of hotels to never go to again ..

This hotels lobby is directly linked to the Golden Age near Taksim square. Room was filthy, even had something streaking the walls (and I don't mean cigarette smoke). Part of organized tour ... advertised as having pool ... we were 2 rooms from pool (more like a swamp). Housekeeping (and I use the term loosely) broke my suitcase and then stole my cell phone. No air conditioning (it was at least 89 at night) manager said it was off season and he would not turn on (October 6, 7, 8, 2006). Had to open window to get some air ... construction on high rise outside window went on all night ... This was supposedly a 4 star ... I do not mind roughing it a bit (ok, so I couldn't use the pool) but the rest was just unacceptable.

On the upside, did find a wonderful sushi restaurant about 2 blocks away!
