Just beside Topkapi Palace! Great stay :)

Enjoyed staying in the Sultanhamet area September 2011 because I was able to walk to the main sights I wanted to see. This hotel is literally just beside the Topkapi Palace from where u can easily walk to the Haga Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Also, a little road will lead you to the waters of the Sea of Marmara and you can walk along the coast.

Check-in was easy and staff had no problems speaking in English. Ferfo, the receptionist, even became my FB friend and he arranged to have my breakfast box when I couldn't make it to breakfast. Breakfast, by the way, was very nice at the top of the building with very neat tables and attentive staff. There were sausages, eggs and good bread...enjoyed eating breakfast there with a view of the sea.

Internet access was also easy and I had no problems with it. No elevators but going up the stairs was easy and not too steep. The room was small but was adequate for my needs. The bathroom had a stand up shower, with good control of hot and cold water. There is also a ref with chocolate bars and water which were reasonably priced, so I ate most of them everyday, haha.... The bed was okay, and I was able to sleep well, although I was out of the room most of the time, haha...truly a nice hotel to start exploring the Sultanhamet area with....taxi drivers may find it difficult to find at times, but I just brought with me the little business card with a little map "guide" of exact location of the hotel.

Good vibes and quality in Megara Palace Istanbul

Stayed in March 7 days, hotel located in old city just walking distance to all main attractions: Top Kapi maybe 50m, Blue Mosque, Hagya Sofia, Archeological Museum, Underwater museum, also if like walking Gran Bazaar, Egyptian Bazaar, but also trams near by and taxi station is other side of the road.
Stayed in 4th floor with view to the sea. Breakfast was in 5th with roof terrace, when it is sunny it is nice to have a breakfast outside and enjoy the view.
Hotel is designed with good taste, dark wood, romantic I would say. I got very good service, receptionists are very informative and you can ask advice any moment.
My favourite is grey parrot Jacob who delights us with many languages including Finnish.
Restaurant in 5th floor has good kitchen and prices are not bad to be hotel restaurant, local people seem to eat there as well.
I would recommend this to anyone but NB no elevator. I think I will return soon, Istanbul has so much to offer to visit there more than once.

Unique Quality: View from the terrace, amazing.
Nice turkish breakfast, fresh tomatos, cucumber white cheese, yougurt, olives etc.
Everything so near with Megara.

Very well located hotel

The Megara Palace is very well situated near Aya Sophia and all famous sites in Sultanahmet.

Unique Quality: + :
Location is excellent.
Staff is friendly.
Breakfast is typically Turkish (feta cheese, olives, tomatoes, eggs...)

- :
It's a bit noisy. Noises come from outside (taxi drivers) as well as inside (neighbouring rooms).
