More about Romantic Hotel Istanbul

Great Location & Service at Romantic Hotel Istanbul

by TripAdvisor Member do-178traveler

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel for several days while visiting Istanbul. It is perfectly located in an area of Istanbul with the best access to the major sites (Blue Mosque, Haggia Sophia, etc). Our room was efficient and nice, with a great balcony overlooking the Bosphorous/Sea. We walked everywhere and there are hundreds of restaurants nearby. Service was surprisingly gracious and helpful and even provided ticket reservations (skip the Whirling Dervishes however; waste of time unless you enjoy inhaling and have just done so). Our family loved the Romantic Hotel

Just returned from a stay at the Romantic Hotel Istanbul. We found the staff universally friendly and helpful. It is a small hotel in a converted house, with only nine rooms, which gives it a very homely feel. Our children felt perfectly safe and did not worry about wandering downstairs to our room when they needed to. The rooms are not huge but they and the bathrooms are spotless, offering everything we needed - TV, minibar, safe, even slippers! The roof terrace was wonderful - the views of the Blue Mosque and the sea were unforgettable, and it was a great place to relax in the evenings - the staff would bring you drinks if you wanted but were equally happy for you just to enjoy the space. The location is ideal as all the major sights are within easy walking distance, and there are plenty of restaurants close at hand. We managed to leave our passports at the hotel when we left, which was not clever, but the manager couriered them to our next hotel without fuss and all was well. We would be happy to return.

Good impresion overall

Very good location for exploring the old Istanbul, and yes - value for money! We had the family room which is practically a room divided by a wall into two sleeping areas. A bit too tight but we managed well with our two boys , 6 and 8. Quite clean, very nice and helpfull staff and a very familiar atmosphere. Tiny kitchen and breakfast room, but good service again.

Excellent place to stay

Hotel Romantic is a lovely spot from which to base your visit to Istanbul. It is clean, charming, and the staff are very knowledgeable about sites to see and how to get to them. The staff doesn't constantly try to sell you something, as was the case in another Istanbul hotel we stayed at. They are very warm and genuine. There is a lovely rooftop terrace with a breathtaking view of the Blue Mosque and the Sea of Marmara. And breakfast is delicious.

The best choice in Istanbul!

by TripAdvisor Member freshlon

We stayed for over a week and negotiated a good rate directly with the hotel. The hotel is sitauted in the old city part of Istanbul within walking distance to all the major tourist sites and good restuarants
The room was dramaticlly furnished was on the top floor and spacious with 3 single beds. The room had a mini bar, aircon and good linen.
The room was clean and serviced daily.
The breakfast was a typical turkish breakfast of olives , cucumber , bread etc.
The greatest asset of this hotel is undoubtedly the VERY FRIENDLY and helpful staff - they are all always smiling and happy to help.
Erdal on the front desk was particullary helpful and spent over 2 hours assisting us make the neccesary arrangements after I was pick pocketed in the city centre (be careful in crowded places).
I really would recommend this hotel - it is small and the service is very personal.
If you really want to spoil yourself take their sea facing suit it looks lush and is huge -complete with jet spray bath and huge blacony! THe other rooms ae abit small but have a nice view and when in istanbul why stay in your room!
The roof top terrace is also a nice chill out area open to all guests.

Great Location & Nice staff

by TripAdvisor Member akind

I stayed at Hotel Romantic for 5 nights in July 2008 and had a pleasant experience. First of all, the location is terrific. The property is 5 minutes away from the Blue Mosque and about 8 minutes from the tram line that gets you all over the city. It could not have been easier to see the city's historical sights. Second, the rooms are well-furnished and clean, and there is a splendid roof top terrace open to all guests . Finally and most importantly, the service is impeccable. The staff are extremely nice, helpfu and friendly. They will provide you with all kinds of useful information, recommend sightseeing tours, help you arrange airport transportation, etc. They could not have been more pleasant or accommodating to their guests.

If you stay at the hotel, make sure you request a room with a balcony where you can overlook the Marmara Sea.

Overall, I would recommend Hotel Romantic to other travelers.
