Very nice hotel

We've had a great time there. The service was very warm and good.It was clean and there was a great view to Marmara Sea.I recommend it because it is very good and also is pretty cheap.If you don't need luxury but good place-you can go there.

Hotel Question

by Trvlr

I am finding the following hotels in Istanbul on a booking site. They are reasonably priced - US 45 to 55. But there is no information about them - no user reviews I mean.
If anyone has any knowledge of these hotels I will appreciate a heads up. The hotels are:

Hotel Ilkay
Hotel Grand Mark
Albion
Tayhan

Thanks.

Hi,
grand mark and tayhan are located in kumkapi which is about 20mn walk to the tram station.Albion is in sultanahmet.Ilkay is in sirkeci, on the road where the tram runs, it's a short walking distance from the pier for the bosphorus, egyptian market, galata bridge and sultan ahmet place.Ilkay seems to have good reviews.I know it only outside.

Re: Hotel Question

Based on Trip Advisor, out of 548 hotels in Istanbul:

Hotel Ilkay = No. 57
Hotel Grand Mark = No.98
Albion = No. 282
Tayhan = No. 263

So, that would be a lil easy to figure out.

I've stayed at Ilkay 3 years back, breakfast was really adequate, staff are helpful, esp. if you're a female traveller. Located in Sirkeci along the main tram road so you can hear the tram if you're on a lower floor. Walking distance to all the sights. The room I was in was I think 2nd floor, so the sight would be the airconditioners and the facade of the building in front. The curtain do not cover the whole window so on either side it's a bit open, I don't know with other rooms. Then the walls are thin so I could hear the sounds from the other room and the scurrying feet along the corridors. The staff are so "friendly" and works with most people, not with some.

Overall, twas just ok for me.

In fact, I only stayed there for 2 or 3 nights? That's when I discovered this hotel in Beyazid where I always stay since that time upto last week. Clean room, daily fresh towels, attentive but not-over-friendly staff, free airport pick-up and/or drop-off. Euro45/night and enjoy a discount on cash payments.

You can't find it on booking sites as reservations are only available directly with them --- and it's No. 38 at Tripadvisor.com

Check my Istanbul hotel page and check the details there.
