Cara Hotel for easy access
Price quoted on the internet is 110 Euro for a double room per night. We had a package deal that included flight to and from Israel that included 7 nights for $600 per person, so that was about $800 for two...a good deal with the flight also.
We were picked up at the airport and deposited in front of the hotel, and at the end of our stay again picked up at the hotel and delivered to the airport, very easy.
Service is so-so, it seems like the people try to avoid your eyes in the lobby and bar/cafe areas and it took forever to get a cup of coffee or tea. They do have a nice pool on the roof which is great for relaxing after a strenous day of tourins. The rooms themselves were clean and of about average size, nothing fancy even for a 4 star hotel. An unamazing breakfast is served, it was identical for 7 days, but it is served in sufficent quantity that it can be filling.
Unique Quality: There are two outstanding things, one good, one bad. The good is that only 100 meters from the hotel is the tram station, giving you easy access to all of Istanbul. The bad is that there is a lot of noise and since the air conditioning does not work you need to leave the window open, so if noise bothers you give this hotel a pass.
