When I go to Istanbul, which I do 4-5 times a year since a couple of years.... (My wife lives there)... I normally don't stay at hotels. We have friends that we stay with. But - if I need accomodation I prefer to go to World House Hostel in Istanbul. It's in the middle of the central Istanbul, and it's a prefect starting point. The hostel in itself is more like a back-packers place. It's simple, low standard but good enough and it's cool. The staff is nice, the place is clean and the location is perfect.
So, you are coming to Istanbul. Great decision.
Now you have to make sure visit all the historic places enjoy Turkish food and have a lot of fun.
Well, our hostel is in the heart of Istanbul. 2 minute by walk to ISTIKLAL Street (Where there are 2 thousand bars and restaurants, area also known as Taksim) 1 minute by walk from Galata Tower (built in 1384) and 15 minutes from Sultanahmet (historic area) by public transportation.
Istiklal Street (Taksim) is full of energy. 2 million people visit in the weekends. Even 5 in the morning there is a bunch of people... Music never stops. You can find best live bands, world music, oriental Turkish music and dance. But! Since you know us, we will show you best and affordable places where local people go.
We will guide you to visit not only tourist places but also bars-restaurants; historic places that you can't find in your favorite tourist book.
We are looking forward to host you soon
if these are not enough please let me know.
Cheers
Ozan
