The Green Park Pendik hotel: The looks of a Kulturpalast
I stayed here for five nights in the week before the Turkish Formula 1. That was an interesting week as more and more teams of the Formula One circus came in.
The Green Park Pendik hotel opened in September 2010 and has 538 well equipped rooms. Its appearance is not as glamorous as the quality that the hotel offers. It's a quiet rectangular building, that has a resemblance with a communist Kulturpalast. Development around the hotel is in progress.
Downtown Pendik with many smaller restaurants is at 20 minutes walking.
A word of advice: Ask for a seaside room (TRL 15 more), otherwise you end uo at the North side with the local trains at short distance.
BTW Prices of the rooms triple around the Formula 1 weekend.
Unique Quality: Indoor and outdoor pools.
BIG breakfast room with whatever you want.
No beach, but a nice seaside park where the locals come to BBQ in the weekends.

DIVAN ISTANBUL ASIA: Pendik's Lookoff point
I stayed here for four nights and had the luck to end up on in one of the 17th floor executive suites. That included breakfast and evening snacks at the top floor restaurant. From there and the two terrasses you have a stunning view over Pendik and the Sea of Marmara. There also is a big restaurant section next to the lobby with an even larger breakfast buffet. The parking garage is 4 floors down from street level. The hotel offers everything you want, including Spa, fitness room and Turkish baths.
