Athena Pension is located in the old quarter of the town, less than a kilometer away from the center (Belidiye building). Walk along this electronic street where you could find shops selling home appliances leading mto the old part of the town. Ask people at the stores and you will also see the signboard of Athena, not really hard to find once you are there. Situated in a quiet street near the Tabaklar Koprusu (roman bridge).

The best character of this old restored Ottoman house is the owner -Aydin, a charming friendly and helpful fellow. Rooms with ensuite bath/toilet, single/double/triple rooms with heater (during winter) - toilet with hot shower outside the room along the open corridor.

Several restaurants, cheap-eats, convenient stores are just outside the pension. Bottomless hot tea served at the reception area with TV and a comfortably warm room in winter.

Red Basilica is a stone-throw away and most sights in Bergama is within walking distance from Athena.

At less than $13 for a single room (shared bath) / $18 for a single ensuite makes this your best bet in Bergama, highly recommended!

Pension Athena

The pension is partly situated in an old ottoman house partly in a newer building. I shared a room with two other females in the old stone house. The view was nice over the roofs of the old town and in the night there was a fresh breeze coming through the windows. The bathrooms were shared. In the newer house there are rooms with private bathroom.
In the morning tables on the courtyard was put together and we all had a big breakfast together.
I paid 10 000 000 TL for one night.
