Cesme pedestrianised area.
I need some advice on how to go to Cesme from Izmir airport by bus. Someone said there is the Uckuyular bus terminal in Izmir, which is different from the Izmir central bus terminal. How can I go there from the airport? Also, what is the advantage using the Uckuyular bus terminal rather than the central bus terminal?
hello,
take the bus so called HAVAS from the airport which is very cheap and comfortable compared with taking a taxi. Please the bus at Hilton otel station,then you may either take a taxi from Hilton or walk a little bit,and take a bus from KONAK region of Izmir in order to reach to FAHRETTIN ALTAY part of Izmir. There is more or less bus available to CESME in every 30 or 60 minutes from that place for your information.
I thought you could get to Cesme from either bus terminal in Izmir, however the Uckuyular Terminal ONLY serves Cesme and a few other places (http://www.izmirkultur.gov.tr/default.asp?L=EN&mid=286). I came across a reference to departures to Cesme from bus stand 141 at Izotas, but it is true that most sites imply that Uckuyular is (now?) the only or best terminal to start from, see, with very detailed instructions (scroll down), http://www.seasidepropertiesturkey.com/cesme_real_estate/cesme/cesme.htm.

Nothing much to see in Cesme, that is only a place to wander in the free hours left by the beach. Yes, there's a fortress, yes the town is pleasant but if you are in the area you see it in the first day, if you are not there, well, there are lots of other interesting places to see.
Dalyan is a good place to eat fish, but... control the price.
