This is a nice hotel, of course, with good views of the water. It has facilities for banquets and meetings, but we didn't used any of that. What we did use was the waterfront paths accessible from the hotel, a great place to walk, though we opted to walk at night so we couldn't see much.
I don't remember the prices, but it was a Crowne Plaza, so you know they're up there. I arrived with no hotel booking, so sort hotel near rail station has i was leaving from there next morning, there are several hotels around this area. The hotel i stayed in was old but clean and comfortable and cheap. There is a maned reception all day. My room was large has was the bathroom with toilet.

Just outside Izmir in Guzelbahce you will find Oba Motel/Camping. It's a nice camping with lots of conifers. Probably you will first have to clean up your campingplace, before putting your tent up. The douches and toilets are average clean. Remarkable the douches have salty water and the hot water is really hot! I nearly burned my hand with closing the tap.
There are also washingmachines. They are from the hotel, but if you will ask one of the cleaning people you probably can use them for a small contribution (in the evening when their boss is gone). There are two big clean swimmingpools with several slides and guards. Just outside the camping there are a lot of fish and barbeque restaurants. You can also have your breakfast at one of the restaurants at the sea. For Turkish meaning expensive: € 15,-- for two persons and one tent. this is an old-greek-building turned out to be a pension by the owners.a simple,cheap accomodation and there is a kitchen in the courtyard ,so everyone can cook or prepare some food themselves. the owner of the pension is a very quite young man , being very friendy and helpful with the area. and hes got many cats around...well foca cannot be considered without cats though. its by the seaside but dont expect sea view from the rooms....rooms are very basic but fair enough....well , i recommend tihs pension particulary for backpackers !
cats.to me cats are the only "unique" things in the world. if you get along with the owner maybe he can borrow you his wind surfing !
