This place is a legend on the backpacker circuit in Turkey. We came for 2 days and stayed 5!
Atillas will pick you up from the bus station when you arrive - just give them a call.
Set just outside of town in the countryside, the accommodation is great, its a budget place, with clean spacious rooms, the bathrooms are shared, are modern and clean but are set back from the rooms and so are quite a jaunt when you are desperate in the middle of the night!
There is a party atmosphere here, tables are set around a bar area, which has tons of room, they have a great cocktail menu, the way the bar works is you buy tokens and then use them - good idea but can be fatal!
Meals are included in the room cost, there is a choice at breakfast from a vast menu, dinner is in the evening and was delicious each and every night - you wont go hungry thats for sure.
The book tours and accommodation for you, have a wealth of info on most places in Turkey, run a free shuttle into Selcuk and out to Ephesus.
The owners are family and friends - they are Turkish Aussies - so much fun and very helpful.
I will stay here again for sure!
This is my second stay at Atillas and i love it. The pool, bar and great service including free shuttle buses and good food make this place a little paradice.
Unique Quality: Apart from the great facilitýes, the staff are brýlliant and have helped us wýth all our needs
Directions: just south of Selcuk
Atilla is a tall man, but where he is largest is his heart. He is the most genuine, sincere individual and really cares to make your stay warm and memorable. I stayed in the dorm and paid for the half-board (breakfast and dinner) for a total of 35TL a night (17.5 Euro). The room was comfortable, warm at night, and had a clothesline out the back for laundry. Showers were HOT :-) and clean.
The breakfasts are not the same old cheese, bread, tomato, cucumber, and olives you get everywhere else. You have a choice of French toast, cereal with yogurt and fresh fruit, menemen (frittata), omelettes, as well as the traditional Turkish breakfast. Dinners have been tasty, alternating between vegetarian and meat based meals. Evenings can be spent enjoying a nargileh (9 TL/4.5 Euro), playing backgammon or chess or poker, or just sitting by the fire.
There is a free shuttle between the bus station (otogar) and the hotel 5 times a day making it easy to get to and from the ruins of Ephesus.
I strongly recommend Atilla's Getaway for anyone looking to chill out in a beautiful, refreshing environment. I didn't venture into the pool, but I'll bet it's great in the summer months.
Unique Quality: Great English speaking staff, pool, pool table
Directions: Take the free shuttle from the Aydin bus company office at the main bus station (otogar) at 12:15, 13:45, 15:45, 17:00, or 19:00.
I was expecting to have a quiet place to sleep in order to wake up early and refreshed for my outings to Ephesus and Selcuk, but they play loud music past 2 am and encourage guests to get drunk, loud, and rowdy.
I was simply unable to sleep until well past 2 am when the staff and rowdy guests finally turned off the loud music and went to bed.
Also, this hostel is way far away from Selcuk and it will cost you 25 TL to get back to the hostel if you're in the city past 7 PM when their last free shuttle comes to pick you up.
The food here is also very average.
Unique Quality: Loud music starting at 9 pm lasting until past 2 am.
Loud and drunk guests screaming and shouting until the wee hours.
