1 lira is around 50p in UK money (I'm guessing you are from the UK?).
I didn't find Turkey massively cheaper than the UK, apart from public transport costs.
Turkish coffee around 1-1.5 TL, small beer 3ish, main course perhaps 10+ (obviously depends massively on what you eat and where).
I'd take what you would normally spend in a week on food & wine etc with perhaps a bit extra if you don't normally eat out much.
But why not take some lira (and some GBP, which you can change if you wish....am assuming you are from the UK again!) and then use your card to get more out of an ATM if you need it? Make sure you tell the card provider you will be in turkey before you leave though.
Taking less and then exchanging more if you need it (or using your card to withdrw fomr an ATM) is more sensible than exchanging lots of money which you may not actually use.

Travel Tips for Bitez
Exotic Beach Bars
by Ekaterinburg
As I mentioned in the Things to Do section, Bitez is all about beach life. To encourage people to buy drinks from their premises, bar owners have really pushed the boat out. Every bar has a section of sun loungers on the beach but some also provide cushions, rugs and even hammocks for lounging on. I'd never seen beach bars like this before and found them quite exotic. We settled in to the one with the large South-Sea -island like sun umbrellas for an hour or so on Thursday afternoon and I think I finally understood how people can spend a day at the beach . With comfort like this it's pretty hard to resist.
TURGUTREIS AHOY
by whitecliff62
This was also on the boat trip, and the photo shows the seaside village of Turgutreis which is also on the Bodrum peninsular. Its about a 30 min drive from Bitez and has a superb beach and lovely whitewashed houses that are built into the hills above
