Bitez or Side - which resort is best?

by christine641960

Hi
I am stuck between 2 resorts; Side or Bitez and reviews are all varied. Which is better for middle aged couples who like history, culture and reasonably quiet night life and NOT English food on every corner. Also disbled so hills are out. Can anyone help?
Thanks

hi there ,
Bodrum/Bitez is not as much British as Gumbet or Bodrum itself(but still british:); But Side is close to Antalya and appeals to you as quite(depends on your hotel choice) night life & history part is all ok.

good luck !

Side is the best place for resting, visiting historical sites like Aspendos. Side is also historic itself with a huge amphitheather and tempel and museum. You may reach to Alanya or Antalya in one hour.
Have a nice time.

CHOOSE YOUR FISH

These you will find in most Turkish restaurants. The turkish people like you to see the food and the kitchens before you order your meal. But please make sure what you are buying is fresh. A good tip is to check if the display is changed daily.

SUPER SIRGA

by whitecliff62 about THE SIRGA RESTAURANT

This restaurant we found was tucked out of the way from the main area of Bitez so it was not what you would call a busy restaurant, but i can't understand why, i thought the food was exelent and the service was spot on The Sirga restaurant has quite a large menu, including
cold starters
Hot starters
Grilled meats
Seafood
Casseroles
Flambe Dishes
Pasta
And a great childrens menu as well.
Try the Octopus salad followed by the chef's special kebab
