Appropriate Social Behaviour in Turkiye
by Lyndra
Turkey is a very traditional country and it is a good idea for anyone who visits to think about how Turks would like you to behave. Some Islamic manners are generally expected even if Turkey is secular.
* Old people are always treated with deference and respect.
* You should not show the sole of your foot to people in social situations - NO NO
* You should avoid passing food and objects with your left hand - the right hand is used to greet & eat, the left hand is used for washing & wiping ;-)
* Public displays of affection are OK but keep it real - you are guests in a country with many Muslims and it is manners to be discreet and proper...
* You should try not to cross your legs when you are sitting with old people or VIPs (not sure why this is??)
* Turks are all about hospitality. Their family life is very important and they welcome people to share in their extended family. An offer of hospitality should be accepted if you are comfortable with it and you can be sure that you will be offered great food and fascinating conversation :-)
THE AMPHI-THEATRE
by arthur40
The theatre is another witness to the great past of Bodrum. Situated in the hillside over looking Bodrum this theatre whose capacity is around 13.000 was built during the Carian reign in the Hellenistic age (330-30 BC.). The theatre consists of three different sections: a place for the audience, a place for an orchestra and the stage. It became an open-air museum after the excavations in 1973.
Deja Vu
by Lyndra about Bar Street
Deja Vu is a nice bar on Bar Street in Bodrum. It has indoor and outdoor seating and a very friendly service staff. They have many deals on drinks but their cocktails are very expensive. THis is not the best bar in Bodrum but has a lively young crowd and is often very busy. NO explicit dress code at Deja Vu

Joy of Boat Trip
by voyageur2
One of best reasons being in Bodrum is boat trip. Peninsula is unique with turquoise water and beautiful bays. along the seaside you can find many boats ready to depart in the morning. If you look for more than a daily trip you can join "mavi yolculuk" or "blue voyage". It is a nice travel for exploring beauties of Turkish shores from bodrum to southern destinations.
