More about Crystal Beach Bodrum Hotel

Worst hotel ever experienced.

by TripAdvisor Member paulrm

Under any circumstances would I recommend or visit this hotel again. We read the reviews before going on this holiday but just thought that people were just being fussy, but no this hotel is the Worst ever and any BAD review on this hotel is very correct, save your money and stay at home.
After 3 hours at this hotel we were more than willing to incur further cost and find another hotel, money well worth spent.
The other guests were just waiting to lynch the holiday rep. Hotel staff and Olympic holidays were as helpful as ever - NOT.
There is no way at this hotel you could ever get tipsy, so watered down the drinks are tasteless.Health & safety have obviously never heard that this hotel exists as they would have a field day. The steps are dangerous for the elderly. Just believe all the BAD reviews. This is no way a 4* hotel and was very mis-sold.

there are no words to describe this hotel!

i do not believe that i will be able to find the right words for this joke of a hotel! i feel completely ripped off and cheated out of our money. We were told that the location of this hotel was just outside of Bodrum, only a 20 min bus journey! however after having to find our coach we soon found out that it was nearer and hr and 20min drive away! then arriving at our hotel which we were told was a 5*, we soon found out that it was more like a holiday prison as you were so restricted in the places you could go. our room was smaller than my bosses office and we were told that it would costs us and extra £100 for a week to move to another room with a balcony (which we had requested).
The food was very basic and on more than one occasion it wasn't cooked properly or had been lying there from the day before. As to 21yr olds we were excited to know that we wouldnt have to pay for one drink as it was all included in the price. that would have been ok if you prefer water to alcohol. in the end we had to go and buy our own bottle of vodka so that we could enjoy ourselves.
the entertainment was absolutely crap, (even the staff agreed with us)! if you enjoy being pestered all day by none english speaking turks, then that is your holiday! at night they would have comedy nights, yip they were definite comedies!
all in all this hotel is not worth any money at all, if you are booked up i would be looking to change your hotel or cancelling all together!

take loads of money you will need it

we read the reports on this site and belive me the bad ones are spot on but we booked before we read the reports(memo to self check first).we payed for a twin room for my two sons in one room (two single beds)and a room for my wife and me(double bed)what we got was single room three single beds complained every day but reception told us that they recived booking from our travel firm stating one room only we tried to get this sorted but no reps could be found anywhere after 7 nights of this hell they moved 3 polish lads in next to us and at 2 am they decided to start wrecking their room i went to reception and asked them to move us again or get us a flight out of here surprise surprise we got moved to a twin room witch was ok but we found out this room had been empty all week but these rooms are kept back so they can charge extra for them(about £30 per night)which we refused to pay in the first place.the only good thing about this hell hole is the animation team tryed their hardest to please but you can't blame the guests for feeling depresed and not wanting to get involved(i did or i would have gone mad). the food was variouse piles of re-hashed gloop and the drinks were watered down. if you go check the disco out they charge 5 lira for a bottle of beer and all it is is a bottle filled with hotel junk and re-capped honnest the efes beer we bought from shop was 10 times better and cant be opened by hand like they was. money saving tip for you is dont buy from hotel shop go 500 yards down the mountain to your right and their is a shop that charges a quarter of the price you pay in hotel dont let them rob you please they have a good laugh about the guests who pay top money they love them

Not to be recommended, even to your worst enemy!!

My husband and I have just returned from what can only be decsribed as sheer hell!!! We were not expecting The Ritz having read the reviews, but were not quite prepared for what we encountered.
Our first shock was the trip from the airport (it took over 2 hours), the busdriver appeared lost, and the bus was veering halfway off the sides of cliffs at times.
When we arrived at the hotel we were shown to our room (very small and 2 single beds). We were then given the usual option of paying £10 a night extra for an upgrade, which we thankfully declined. We were then greeted with the infamous cockerel crowing.
The drinks saga (or lack of) began the first day and never ended. They were always running out of alcohol and soft drinks, only to be seen later taking bottles of vodka to the disco (where you had to pay).
The hot food (haha, what a joke) was only ever luke warm and had about 4 choices if you were lucky, one of which was usually rice. The cold food was not kept cold and the sweets were covered in flies. We spoke to the Maitre'd to ask him to cover the sweets, to which he told us it was ok as they sprayed fly spray before putting them down. Whether he was referring to the tables or the sweets themselves we weren't sure. In any case it made no difference.
I lasted 5 days at that hotel before being struck down with food poisoning and ending up in hospital on a drip. I wasn't the first or last. It's hard to guess at what the culprit was, the food or the water (they were filling water dispensers etc with a hosepipe). Many people we spoke to were getting buses or taxis to nearby towns to eat, and shopping in the supermarket, which defeats the object of an all inclusive holiday.
After 3 days of being ill and afraid to eat or drink we managed to secure a transfer to another hotel. No thanks to the holiday rep, who was trying to fleece us out of £400 and make us wait another day! I rang the holiday company in England and sorted it out that way. We have never been so glad to see the back of a place in our lives, especially as we'd seen several people off to hospital that day and the day before.
I can't stress enough how much I would avoid this hotel. The service and cleanliness is not even 2 star. The whole place is a health and safety hazard, especially for the disabled or children with all the steps. The sewage smell never seems to go and it's in the middle of nowhere. The only good thing is the nice view, but it's not worth staying here for that.
The hotel we moved to was the Armonia in Turgurtreis which was fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Avoid like the plague, Worst hotel in the world

Please take note how can so many people be wrong!! We were sold this holiday as a 5 star all inclusive but on arrival we found out that it was a 4 star, I don’t know how the hotel even got 4 stars I think that manager must have paid someone off. The water fountains were all filled up with a hose pipe and a number of hotel gests had to be taken to hospital after drinking this water. The staff are the most useless hotel staff in the world and the manager is a complete [------] that will not help you at all. The comedy sketch show is rubbish and the entertainment team are even worse. I lost a stone in a week because I could not eat anything because all the food was undercooked, covered in flies and probably full of bird flu. The burgers around the pool were also discussing and cooked by a Turk that was happily smoking as he was cooking and preparing the food. The all inclusive drinks were useless, 1 beer, 4 sprits and wine, they all were watered down probably with contaminated pond water. It is also a scam that after 12 the only place to get drinks it the hotel disco that you have to pay for your drinks, even though we all paid for a five star all inclusive.

Gold trail and Qwerty travel are responsible for completely miss selling this holiday and the beast advice I can give anybody looking to stay at this hotel is DON’T. It will be the worst 1-2 weeks of your life.
