One day in Bodrum
by nihandenis
Hi if you are going to stay only one day in Bodrum , I would suggest you to visit the castle first. And afterwards you can wander down to the harbour see the stunning gulets (traditional Turkish wooden boats).You can also walk to the bar street where you can find small shops & bars.On this way have a cup of coffee at Mado where you have nice Castle view. There is nothing to do in Bodrum in winter time so I would suggest you to hire a car & visit the villages bays of Bodrum. You can make a peninsula tour starting from Gumbet, Bitez, Ortakent, Yahsi, Camel Beach, Akyarlar, Turgutreis, Gumusluk, Yalikavak, Turkbuku , Torba & back to Bodrum.
Giving Tips
by Lyndra
Many turkish bar staff earn minimal wage which can be very low indeed - for this they are expected to work punishing hours and still be nice to us the tourist. The tips we give them are so important in adding money to their small pay packets. Unfortunately the English have a reputation for being a bit stingy with the money! Round up the drinks order and let them keep what is actually a really smal sum to us but they are so grateful for these kindnesses.

For anyone who is self catering in Bodrm you wil need access to cheap good quality foods, cleaning products and other necessary summer equipment such as sunscreen.
Bodrum has 4 major supermarkets and many smaller shops in the town. The best prices are to be found at the larger markets:
* Migros (0252 316 0983

Bodrum Airport

Bodrum airport is a relatively new one and the facilities are excellent. A spacious international terminal with a few Cafes and Bars. There is also a shop open 24hrs which is very handy for buying phone cards, especially when your mobile phone network doesn't work straight away.

This had to be my biggest failing! i really and truley could'nt pass this place without buying something, in the morning, the bread was oven fresh and the rolls and buiscuits looked far too appeitizing after the hotel brekkie!
But come mid morning when the fresh fruity cakes came out, i had to succumb, and did, often.and when our friends came over from Kos for the day, i had to take my mate debbie there, and she was glad of the experience!!!!
Everything is so very very cheap, and more importantly everyhing is so very very fresh ad very very YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Banana caramel, rasberry pot
