Does anyone know which tour operator is dealing with teh Dolphin Apartments in Bodrum for 2007? It turns out that First Choice is no longer handling this apartment complex and we are unable to find anyother tour operator who is!
Any help gratefully accepted!

I have no clue ;)
I don't know the charter/tour operators in UK.

1) phone Dolphin directly and hear who they have signed with (or e-mail them) for the 2007 season in/from your country
2) if there is no UK charter that have Dolphin in their 2007 program then you could book hotel and flight seperatley. Not sure if your charter operators sell "flight seat" only on their charter planes (here they sell some seat-only per flight) and buy bus transfers too from them. Or you find a (normal) flight to Bodrum (or Dalaman) airport and arrange your own transportation.

Travel Tips for Bodrum

Vegetarian Options in Turkey

by Lyndra

Turkish people are fans of vegetables and meat in equal measure! The quality of vegetables is usually excellent (Bodrum has a fantastic weekly market that is oozing with huge, juicy fruit and colourful vegetables) and most restaurants will have vegetarian options or will be willing to prepare something for you.
The traditional Meze (starters) are often vegetable options. The Turkish word for vegetarian is vejetaryen so if things are not looking hopeful on a menu then just ask for that (pronounced pretty much as it looks!). The Turkish people do not understand the concept of total veganism as they have rich meat available in the form of beef, mutton etc.

This is Turkeys 4th biggest lake and i just can't remember the name of it, its located on the road between Bodrum and Ephisus, and what a beautifull lake it is, this photo was taken in a restaurant overlooking the lake, there are also a few muscle farms on the lake, at least thats what i think they are

Dolmus, your personal chauffeur???

by Nelson1979

When you are in Bodrum or in one of the little villages nearby like Gumbet, its best to take the Dolmus. These small (green) busses drive by every couple of minutes and just stick your hand out, wave and they will stop for you. You pay the chauffeur. Its so cheap, just a couple of cents !! so really worth it.... a lot cheaper than a taxi. They can be a bit full sometimes, that can be less fun when you are sitting with a lot of sweaty people on hot days!

mausoleum at halicarnassus

by June.b

nuthin' much was left of the great mausoleum of mausolus - a seven wonder of the ancient world - but worth to visit if you're in the area. scattered pieces of marble in an encarpment, there's a small museum where some of relics are with marble carving from the original edifice. entrance fee is i think 5TL.

the original mausoleum is about 45 meters in height, and each of the four sides was adorned with sculptural reliefs created by each one of four Greek sculptors — Leochares, Bryaxis, Scopas of Paros and Timotheus. the finished structure was considered to be such an aesthetic triumph that Antipater of Sidon identified it as one of his Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

it's the origin of the word mausoleum - from Mausolus - the eldest son of Hecatomnus, a native Carian who became the satrap of Caria when Tissaphernes died, around 395 BC.
