Gulec Hotel Pension

First of all, I found this Hotel hard to find as I didn't have a map, and people I asked didn't seem to know where it was. Eventually, after dragging my bags over uneven streets, somebody showed me the way. It was well hidden in the street, a nice Bouganvillea hanging over the fence, so LOOK HARD to see the sign. My room was large with 2 single beds. It had Air conditioning. There was NO T.V. or Fridge, just a basic room. There was a Television room at the entrance. Breakfast (From 8.30am, was included in the price, which was the usual Turkish Breakfast, and quite o.k. It was in the courtyard which was nice. The owner "Mehmet" was helpful with information. Annoyingly, if you were an early riser like me, and wanted to go for a walk before the late breakfast, you were locked in. A number was on the door which you had to ring to get somebody to come and open the door. The area at this time of the year was quiet, don't know what it would be like in high season.
IT was in a good position, being only a short walk from the Bus Otogar and to the main area of Bodrum.
I did return for a second visit. Once I knew the way from the Otogar to walk there, it is very easy!

Unique Quality: At the Otogar, walk down the centre walkway, past the Cafe & where the Dolmuses are, to where the Taxi's and traffic lights are. Walk across the street, and down until you reach the 1st street on your right. Bridal wear on the corner. Walk down narrow street, turn right. Panysion Gulec is under Bouganvillea vine just around the corner on the left hand side. On the opposite side are shops. If you pass the Laundry on the left, you have gone too far! About 10mins walk from the Otogar.
