More about Jasmin Beach Aparts & Studios
This hotel is absolutely superb.
We arrived in the early hours, extremely tired and wanting some rest. The man on reception told us, "My friend you have the best room in the whole of the hotel." I just passed this off as Turkish banter thinking he was just having a laugh with me.
The first thing that struck me was how pretty the hotel gardens were. They lwere so well looked after. The walk to the room took about 5 minutes! We struggled up 3 flights of stairs with our cases until we got our apartment, number N750. WOW! the studio room was a very generous size, extremely modern and we had a large front and rear balcony. Our room was isolated so we had no neighbours either side or below. It was the highest point in the hotel and overlooked the top pool. We got some amazing views over Gumbet bay. I couldn't believe our luck.
We spent most of our time at the top pool which was extremely clean and quite peaceful.
The bar by the main swimming pool was good for a pint before you go out or when you get back in at night. The prices were not too bad (much cheaper than England!). All the staff were extremely pleasant.
On our last day we kept our room until 7pm as we had a late flight. This cost us £15 which is pretty good.
Try eating at The Mistral restaurant which is near the hotel by the beach.
If you are walking along the beach from the hotel take the right turn just before The Mistral and The Windy Bay restaurants. Keep walking until you reach the main road. Turn right and after about 100 yards you will come to a restaurant called "THE DANCING DRAGON". This place is amazing and could possibly make your holiday! The food was absolutely superb. I tried something off each menu (chinese, mexican, indian and italian) and it all tasted very authentic. The prices are very reasonable too. It's also 2.5lira (90p at the time) for a large beer!! And that's a large bottle of Efes. Cocktails were 5 lira (about £1.80). Most nights we started here even if we were not eating as the bar was very nice, cheap and we had decent banter with the staff. Also if your football team are playing on Sky they will put it on for you on a large TV and you can sit on sofas watching it. Highly recommended.
Although my partner I and are in our late teens early twenties it was easy to see that this accomodation was excellent for kids. I would have loved to spend a week or two around the main pool when i was younger. All the kids around the pool seemed to make friends and they looked like they were having an amazing time, day and night!
The only thing i didn't like too much was the hassle from the bar staff trying to get us to go to a Turkish night. They don't really accept no for an answer. But it was only for one day.
All in all my stay at the Jasmine Beach couldn't have been better. And i only paid £140 for a week in June from Newcastle with Thomson!!! It was a next day departure. I would recommend keeping an eye on the prices as they drop dramatically on the Thomson website the week before departure. Outstanding value for money.
In August i went back to Gumbet but couldn't get a room at the Jasmine Beach on my the dates so we opted for the Siesta Beach as it was just 2 hotels along. In my honest opinion the Jasmine Beach was a cut above the Siesta Beach. You can read my review by searching "Siesta B" and it's titled "Don't risk it".
Great small cafe/bar next door
went there for a week, but it was wway to short to do a lot but the stuff that i did was great fun.
got there to the hotel at 5:30 in the morning (turkish time), then couldn't sleep at 7 i was up walking around the town of gumbet for an hour, i was amazed to see shops open for busniess the people there were ever so friendly they all spoke very good english and the staff made me feel very welcome, i had a lovely cleaner at the hotel who before we left did a small flower arrangement on the pillow with a note that read flowers for you have a safe journey home goodbye your cleaner.
i spent most nights next door at the calypso bar were i met a lot of funny nice friendly people who worked there.
i would love to go again sometime and would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to that area
best holday ever
went to the jasmin in july 06 with my family and friends, there was 26 of us altogether,we are from N.Ireland Wendy and her family and friends are from Hull and Wilma and her friends are from Scotland. We had been in Gumbet the year before(that's how we all met)and decided to go back we all choose the jasmin as we heard it was the best in Gumbet. What i noticed first was the clean the jasmin was it was spotless, the apartments were spacous and very clean,we went to the pool on the first day and found that getting sunbeds was really easy as there was plenty of them and if you could'nt get a sunbed all you have to do is ask and one of the staff are only to willing to get you one, and talking about the staff they were great(johnjohn, sedat, memo, idris and rafi)were all really great they are always smiling even though most of them only get acoupple of hours sleep and then its back to work, they are never ingnorant or rude. The jasmin its self is a beautiful complex sitting right on the beach, only a few minutes walk from the town which at night is brill,i have three kids and even having tham with me at all times is no problem coz there is something for everyone on the promanade. We went on the boat trip which was excellent and we also went to the water park (also another great day out) all and all the holiday at the jasmin was excellent it was so good we have booked again for july 07 this time there is about 36 of us going so watch out jasmin we are all coming back ha ha looking forward to seeing you all again love from
MATT,HEATHER AND STACY
Not bad at all
ROOMS: Pleasantly surprised with hotel, G studios are too small, but upgraded to an apartment - E12 - lovely, spacious and clean. Very noisy music from the bars, but ear plugs solved that. Hotel staff very helpful. TRIPS: DO NOT BOOK WITH SANDY - she ripped us off and is known to be dishonest - just be careful. FOOD: Best - Saray Zarat: fantastic value turkish food, 14 local for a massive mixed kebab and London style service, they provide transport too - ask for Mehmet. Windy Bay and Cafe Colombia do good steaks, Mistral good pizzas and lamb chops, Garden Beach is very friendly and quiet. Best place to spend the day is Cozzy Beach - superb glass fronted pool and swim-up bar, great mezze, icecream, big comfy cushions and chill out music. Good place to spend your last day chilling. Try the big white cafe on the way to Windy Bay - its aimed at locals and is cheap and very good. GO TO GUMUSLUK - very peaceful and quiet fishing village, a lovely contrast to Gumbet.
Why has this place got excellent reviews??!!
Myself and my boyfriend stayed here in august 2006 for 17 nights. Neither of us had been to Turkey before and were both really looking forward to it. We will probably never return!! Especially not to Jasmine Beach. The first room we were shown to was painted mustard and brown and was dark smelly and felt like a prison cell, it was on the ground floor with doors that didnt even lock! We complained straight away and got moved to another room on the 3rd floor which was alot more bright and airy although it wasnt clean. Everytime you flush the toilet other peoples waste bubbled in a grid in the floor and it stunk like a urinal. The pool stank of stale beer and was full of screaming northerners!! Never sat round it, went to the beach every day which was lovely. The area gumbet is suitable for anyone, its got a clubbing bit, loads of restaurants, shops and you can go to bodrum and loads of other resorts on the cheap buses. Be very very careful where you eat though! We both spent alot of the holiday in the toilet! I got given off steak in one place and raw sausages in another!! The calypso and The Windy Bay are probably the best places to eat although the food isnt amazing! Theres one thing you must do.. Go to Gumusluk for a day out, its beautiful, hardly any tourists there, you can walk through the sea to an island and eat in lovely fish restaurants right on the beach, the views are amazing. If we hadnt been ill we would return to gumbet but stay in a better hotel but I dont think we will ever return. I had to have weeks off work after returning due to catching a rare bacteria probably from the meat or the sea. The turks are so friendly but they do hassle you and they are just so dirty!!
ok for a wash and a to sleep
Just got back from a week there last week of their season the room was clean and has all we needed in it and the recption staff were very helpful oh and gardens were nice thats the good stuff out of the way . 2 of the 3 pools seemed not to be filtering so we did'nt risk them the big main pool was working this is were the main bar is the music blared out there all day the same repetative toones over and over again and this huge bell constantly being clanged everytime someone tipped the staff the only way as far as we could see to get any service from the bar/pool staff was to be between 16 and 25 blonde and chesty otherwise forget it we suffered this for a couple of hours and spent the rest of our time on the beach 8 lira a day well spent .However if you do leave the hotel i would highly recommend the little bar next door the calypso the price were very good and we had our 3 best evening meals there the staff thats crazy joe and little musa were so friendly and the owners kath, paul and emery were alway around to chat or help and i can honestly say they all made our week great also meeting up with the 3 boozekteers was a good laugh boy them girls could drink please see pic i would go back again i would stay in the jasmine but as this time just to use the room
Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the jasmin beach in July, just before all the families arrived! As our room was overlooking the playground if we were there when families were, we might not have enjoyed it as much.
The room was basic but had traditional rustic decor although it had a cooker etc it was slightly too small for cooking but neither me nor my boyfriend bothered as we were barely in our room anyway! The nicest thing about our room was the balcony. We would sit outside on a night looking at the gorgeous view of the hills and taking in the smell of the gorgeous pink flowers that arrayed all of the walls of the apartments, i never did find out the name of them!
On the first day we went for turkish bath and massage and i have to say that is one of the best things i have ever done, the staff there were nice and friendly and the price was fantastic also.
Our meals out were spent at the Windy Bay which was fabulous, over looking the beach. The food although not amazing, but who cares when you get a free bottle of wine and its so cheap?! And the staff were really nice and friendly and gave us good recommendations of which clubs, bars to go to.
We would always end our night in the Jasmin's Sports Bar, the staff there were fantastic and so friendly and one of them made the most amazing cocktails!
We travelled into Bodrum and went to the market one day, that was a big mistake! As a young, fair, English girl, i was being dragged in every direction. I advise any girl going there to cover up and keep your head down! I did manage to bag myself a gorgeous leather purse though!
As i'm more of a beach than a pool person, what more could i ask for when all you have to do is walk over the road and you're faced with gorgeous skies and amazing views of Bodrum? Pure bliss!
Overall we had a fantastic time, no ill health, barely any mosquito bites and no annoying 'northeners' by the pool. I would suggest if you're a young couple not expecting the earth, but a nice clean room, friendly staff, gorgeous scenery, nice places to eat and good nights out, then this is the place for you!
loved jasmine beach
Just had a fantastic week in gumbet and stayed at Jasmine beach apts.
I have stayed in marmaris before and hated it and vowed never to return to turkey but gumbet is a fantastic place to stay.
If you have booked for jasmine beach ask for rooms at the top pool, amazing views, bigger balconies looking over the pool and gumbet itself, and away from the main pool, some noise but nothing bad. Crazy joe at Clypso bar next door to apts is brill excellent brekky and a good laugh.Windy bay and Mistral along the beach front excellent places to eat, also you get a free bottle of wine.Loads of bars hotels etc along beach front and into the town itself It was first few days of season when we arrived so bit quite but imagine v busy come jun/jul/aug.
would recommend these apts to anyone tou will have a ball.
returned from gumbet a couple of weeks ago, lovely place to stay, we were in room under top pool, our friends joined us for second week, asked reception for a room next to ours, gave them one next door, the hotel is about 5-10 mins walk to pubs and restaurants along the beach, we went to calypso next door on our way back on a night, the staff were excellent, crazy joe, kevin (keegan), and moses, the best places to eat were red dragon, windy bay, the tempo, but saying that we never had a bad meal all the time we were there. the aloha was the best place to get your money changed, we went on a boat trip organised by Sandy, it was ok, but other boat trips you got a free drink, but not on the one we were on. The shop owners tried to get you in all the time but if you just said no thanks they left you alone, the price of drinks varied, from 2ytl-4.50 ytl, cider was hard to come by but the aloha had it advertised for 8 ytl but we got it for 5, all in all we had a great time and would not hesitate to go back, especially to the jasmine beach.
