by whitecliff62
This is a night time photo of Gumbet bay, although its got a large beach, i think thats where the charm stops. I did not go much on this place, i thought it was noisy, dirty and full of drunken yobs. I think i will stop there before i offend too many people
Traditional Turkish Fun...
by Lyndra about Alem Bar, Bodrum
Alem Bar is a delightful find not far from Cumuriyet Caddesi. It has wonderful Turkish music many nights of the week. The singer who featured on the two nights that we went there was a very charismatic character who had a great rapport with the majority Turkish audience.
Good service. Nice atmosphere. Does feel a wee bit strange when you first enter the building as you stand out as not being Turkish but once the initial moment of nerves is over, a great night is to be had. Turkish culture at it's most enthusiastic and a must try for any visitor to Bodrum who wants more than a fishbowl and teenage drinking! Smart is best here, there is a mix of ages of Turkish ladies and gents and all are dressed well.

Sailing
by Lalique
Blue Cruise is one of the most thrilling adventures that one can experience, is exploring along the Turkish coast East of Bodrum. It is another world! Under the bluest of blue skies, with a brisk northwestern breeze in the sails and steering south, Cape Crio is rounded some three, maybe four hours after setting out from Bodrum.
Itineries: - the ancient commercial harbor of Cnidus, a city once known for the manufacture of amphora's, the "shipping containers" of the Classical Age, and famed for its statue of naked Aphrodite.
- ancient Gulf of Doris. Tiny villages lie next to vestiges of towns and cities that thrived in the Classical Age, a treasure-trove worthy of exploration
- (southern shore towards Marmaris) the ruins of Loryma. Sail into the cove and you'll be stunned by the remains of a castle right on the shore; it is probably a reminder of the glory of Byzantium.
There is so much to see along the coast between Bodrum and Marmaris that a Blue Cruise in this area usually starts in Bodrum and ends in Marmaris.
Another option is to sail to the neighboring Greek islands, like Cos or Rhodos, which is a very memorable experience too.
