The harbour
by MalenaN
The ferry I came with from Datch docked in the harbour in the west bay. On the pier below the castle are the ferry offices, and beside Datch (Körmen) there are also ferries to Kos and Rhodos from here.
Below the castle and around the western bay it is full of yachts (gullets), which you can take a daytrip with or rent for several days. The yachts are a nice sight in the harbour.

Gold Jewellery
by mvtouring about Oasis Gold Shop
This is quite a large shop that we were taken to for Gold and Silver Jewellery. There prices were very competitive and I overheard some of the English people saying that it was a lot cheaper than in England. What makes this shop nice is that if you go there on a regular basis i.e. once per annum, you have five years within which you can exchange your jewellery for something new at the same price or else pay in the difference.
Bodrum to Istanbul - Metro Turizm Bus
by June.b
we took the new double deck metro turizm bus from bodrum otogar to istanbul buyuk otogar (esenler). 12 hours trip of scenic route and very comfortable as usual as the second deck where we are are half full and we took the 8:30pm bus so we arrived in istanbul early in the morning - around 9AM.
TRICK in buying bus tickets:
before buying a ticket for istanbul, i asked all the bus companies at the bus station that goes to istanbul for the fare and i got various offers. different bus companies have different fare. i think i inquired from 4 bus companies - varan and ulusoy are more expensive at about 70 or 75 lira, pamukkale bus is 65, kamil koc is 60, i got metro at TL55, the cheapest was aydin bus at 50 but i got confidence with metro as i've used them several times from several trips in turkey so we took it.
slept all the way to istanbul.
and as usual they have a small service bus that takes passengers from the big istanbul terminal to aksaray district near the metro station, walk a a little to Yusufpaşa tramvay station which is 2 stations away from our hotel in Beyazid.
you can book/buy your tickets for your trips at metro bus's website in advance for your convenience.
Fantastic views for lunch!
by Lyndra about Fora Bar (daytime)
This restaurant is actually one of my favourite bars in the evening time but during the day it is a lovely relaxing place to go for a bite of lunch. There are a small number of tables at the rear of the restaurant that overlook the sea and the views are spectacular - sea all around and the castle to one side. The restaurant is clean and the service is friendly and prompt. The menu is not extensive but the food served is good quality using local ingredients. The usual suspects of pizza, chips, sandwiches and burgers are available but there are also some local dishes on offer. The food we ate there on a few visits was lovely (if a little small in portion size). The views and calm environment make this a lovely place to get out of the hustle of Bodrum during an afternoon of shopping!
