More about Royal Asarlik Beach Hotel
Brilliant Royal Asarlik fun!!!!
Oh my god, not long returned for two weeks at the Royal Asarlik Beach and had an absolute ball. Am still depressed to be back! Wasnt sure at first if we'd get to stay here with all the kerfuffle that went on when it was first opened but all was good! Great hotel, great staff and an amazing holiday! The hotel is honestly immaculate, there always seems to be someone cleaning something and the staff are very friendly, sometimes too friendly tho!
The room we had was beautiful, it was very modern with neutral colours and amazing bathroom with large stand-alone sink and glass top. The room was spacious and cleaned every day to a high spec, even with our untidiness!
I was there with my friend on an all-inclusive basis and i can honestly say it is the way to go. The breakfast and dinner is served on the 6th floor rooftop so you get to experience excellent views of the bay and town in both sunrise and sunset. Although the dinner at times got a bit repetitive, the restaurant had plenty of choice and was always cooked well. Lunch was served at the nearby Asarlik hotel which was sometimes a bit of a chore to go to but was fine also. The snack bar on the beach front of the hotel serves burgers, ommelettes, sandwiches and salads all afternoon until 5pm so youll never go hungry. You can also book a la carte meal once a week, and i promise you that'll last you for days. I have never seen so much food, approx 6 courses! lovely. the drinks are available until 12am, there are plenty bars around the hotel and i can recommend the cocktails! The animation staff put on entertainment every night either on the 6th floor stage or at the neighbouring Asarlik hotel.
The pool area was large enough but not too big to be crowded, highlights of this area were the cushioned sunloungers and the pool bar!! The animation staff also keep you entertained throughout the day too with Water gym, water polo and games. Our favourite - sexy Leo!!! I also recommend going with the animation staff to Halikarnas nightclub in Bodrum, they take you there, bring you back and look after you very well in this amazing outdoor nightclub. You feel very safe and its much better fun going in a large group. Great stuff.
Gumbet Bar street is a 5minute walk away and has amazing nightlife. Me and my friend are both young 26year olds and we were out every night it was just too good to miss! Favourite bars were of course X bar (upstairs), Shakers and Pane Vino which is an off-street bar situated towards the bottom of bar street just past the Hotel Baba (beautiful bar staff ladies!!) I recommend them all.
Im so jealous if you are going to this hotel and to Gumbet cos i had such a great time, hope you will too, cheers!
Superb relaxing holiday at the Royal Asarlik Beach
Myself, husband and ten year old daughter holidayed at the Royal Asarlik beach for one week all inclusive. One week was not enough.
We could not find fault at all with any aspect of our stay and saving the euro's to go again next year.
The hotel staff could not do enough to please. The club for children was excellent well run by enthusiastic animation team.
The food was so good, impossible not to eat healthily.Great variety served in an immaculatley clean buffet area.
Cleanliness was paramount as was the well groomed attentive staff.
The location ideal too ,giving you a choice of relaxing on the private beach quietly or sitting beside the pool to watch or join in with the entertainment. The hotel gardens provided another sitting area, and no shortage of sun loungers wherever you chose to sit.
The room was lovely, comfortable beds, and again spotlessly clean. Our room had a sea view .
The hotel itself is very impressive with its glass spiral staircase and the cool marble and granite interior of the lobby with it,s cosy sofa,s.
i could go on forever about it,and would prefer to go for longer than a week next time.
Could not fault it.
Thank you to this wonderful place for re charging my life
Best holiday ever
We booked this holiday in January for the Royal Asarlik beach hotel, but after reading various reports on the web it worried us that the hotel would not be ready.
Even the day we flew I checked with Airtours and they said none of the tour companies had cancelled.
Arrived at Bodrum airport and there it was, the envelope and an explanation that due to health and safety issues Airtours would not be letting their tourists stay at the Royal Asarlik and that we would be staying in the Asarlik Beach hotel on the same all inclusive.
To be honest the write-ups on this hotel were very good.
We received £60 each in vouchers, free safety deposit box for our two weeks, late check-out, free Turkish bath plus I asked at reception for a sea view room and a day later we moved into room 426 which was brilliant, this was free as well.
On our return I sent a memo to Airtours saying that the only thing I was disappointed with was the fact that they had my mobile number and did not contact me about the Royal not being available for us, they also sent us a cheque for our inconvenience.
All in all I think Airtours gave us fair compensation for our holiday.
Now about the holiday, first time staying in Turkey and we can honestly say that this has been the best holiday we have ever had, and we have had some good ones over the years.
The Asarlik beach hotel is brilliant, the rooms excellent, the food, although I am choosy I still ate. Only problem in morning was the queuing for the omelettes but what the hell.
The snacks in the afternoon were also good and evening meal adequate.
The pool area has two pools, children’s pool and Jacuzzi all together.
No problem with sun beds plenty to go around even when the hotel was full.
I personally found reception very helpful for any problems.
Night life is great if you go with the flow as every other night it is the animation team doing sketches, these were great.
Other nights shows on, Turkish night was brilliant at the hotel, we also went to one in town and this was not a patch on the hotels.
The animation team are brilliant, Hakan, Memet, Mr Bean, and the rest of the gang work extremely hard, if you want to join in day and night its up to you and they don’t push you but you are missing out if you don’t.
When do you see a muscular 14 stone Geordie doing Tai Chi in the mornings or take part in the crazy darts.
We are the couple who did 152 thrusts with the ladle and frying pan when on stage taking part in the couples show.
The bar staff are also brilliant, Jay, Volkan etc, only problem was and its not their fault that they had to make out receipts for all drinks and snacks.
My wife had her birthday there and on that night Hakan, Mr Bean and the rest of the animation team decorated a table for us before we came down for our evening which was brilliant.
Normally we only do a couple of trips but with the vouches we decide to do more.
Pluses :- Turkish bath, hotel boat trip for the day, turgetreis market, mud bath trip, although this was a long day, day trip to Kos.
Minus’s Bodrum market, Turkish night at the Kelvansery.
Cannot comment on Gumbet town to much as we did not leave the hotel very often at nights, which is unsual for us as we normally always go to the bars after the hotel which shows how much we enjoyed the Asarlik.
The potential to be a good hotel
My family have just returned from Royal Asarlik Hotel. We booked a Thomson Price Breaker Holiday. On arrival the inside of the hotel looks impressive. The staff can't do enough. However, they all seem to be training and no-one really took charge. On arrival we checked the room out. The glass our balcony was broken (we have a 4 year old son) Hannah our rep (who was fantastic) got our room changed to a double bed with a sea view (absolutely stunning view). I don't think the staff got the point as this balcony was also severely cracked.
Our worst experience was when we put our little boy in to the poorly organised kids club. There disn't seem to be any set times and the ratio of as many kids as possible to one is too much. My wife put our little boy in the club at 3pm and was told to come back at 5pm. At 4.30 a fellow guest came to find us on the beach saying our boy was on his own by the pool. The rep had dropped him off. This basically destroyed our thoughts on the hotel.
The hotel is really for couples or older children. I am no prood but I don't want my child listening to uncensored versions of 50 Cent and Snoop Doggy Dog.
The entertainment left a lot to be desired and to be honest we found the food to be a bit repetative and there wasn't much choice for kids apart from the snack bar.
If someone took control of the entertainment and kids clubs the hotel would fulfil its potential. However, if this is left to carry on then I feel as it gets busier and busier they will struggle.
First Choice Hotel
Arrived late Sunday night, couldnt wait to get to our hotel and climb into bed. We arrived at the Asarlik beach hotel to a great reception and after 5 minutes checking in we were told that the previous occupants left with the room key and acces to are room was via the pass key until the lock was changed. This was a little inconvenient but our rep took care of it straight away. Well daybreak came and our first look out from the room we were gob smacked to see the most fantastic view across the sea and directly a clear view of the greek isle KOS. So of to breakfast and what a choice there was it was very pleasent to sit pool side and enjoy the food. As we were B and B it was really great to go out in the evenings to the vast choice of restuarants in GUMBET town only 5 minutes walk. There was always plenty of locals offering free wine or garlic bread to eat in there restuarant, a nice offer everywhere you went. Take advantage of all boat trips they are really nice and relaxing so much to see and the wateri s so warm to dive into. On a lazy day by the pool we sat under the huge parrasols on site, very cool particularly in heat of the day but the pool only a few feet away was very inviting to cool off. A dip down into the sea you will need some sort of shoes as it is very stoney in places, but the amazing variety of fish swimming around your feet keep you entertained for some while.
I can certainly recommend a visit you wont say it isnt a place you wouldnt go back to.
just returned from holiday at the royal asarlik.no complaints at all with hotel and would recommend without hesitation.we went all inclusive ie all meals and drinks non imported included.
reception area large, clean and pleasant.staff helpful.

all in all a v good holiday.
recommend boat trip,parasailing,market at turgutres.
All round good choice
We have just returned from a week at the Asarlik Beach on bed and breakfast basis. We are a couple in our late 40s. We were allocated a really lovely room with a separate sitting area, double bed and good bathroom with a bath, which we were'nt expecting. However, we like a view and this room didn't have one, so we asked if we could move. They showed us another room immediately, and although it was smaller with twin beds and only a shower (very large tray though), we decided to take it as the view was lovely, and they helped us to move. The staff from the reception to the waiters and bar staff were friendly, courteous and genuinely interested in us. The cleanliness of the hotel cannot be faulted and although we've stayed in 4 star hotels around the world, never have I had the bed and towels arranged in hearts and flowers and decorated with flower buds as we did on two occasions at this hotel - a lovely touch. We tend to travel around so didn't spend too much time around the pool area, but on the one day we did, we weren't keen on the loud music and rather silly entertainment, but this is a personal thing and others seemed to love it. This can easily be avoided by using the sunbeds a little lower down on the beach. There is plenty of room round the pool and just below on the beach and it never looked overcrowded. When you arrive you are given a card to use for payment of food and drinks, its a really good system and avoids carrying money around, but a good idea to check how much you owe evey few days. Gumbet is a really lively town and caters for those who enjoy a busy night life, but the hotel is just around the corner from all the bars so not bothered by it at all. The hotel entertainment can be a litle loud but stops at midnight so again, not a problem. There are quite a few steps from the pool and bar area up to reception and the rooms, so not suitable for everyone, but the layout of the terracing and gardens is very pretty and well maintained. Breakfast is very good and there is plenty of choice - we never needed to bother with lunch! The Asarlik Beach is an all-round good holiday hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.
Chaos at the Azarlik
My wife and I are no strangers to Turkey having been 8 times before. This time we made a mistake and went to a 3 star hotel !! -oh how we regret it.It's sister hotel The Royal, next door had not been completed, despite having taken bookings from Airtours,Thomsons etc. so they piled everyone in to the Beach for food-we were like sardines in a bucket !! Customers were not told until they arrived !! Complaints galore !
We arrived early 8 May -shown to our room. The rooms have no bath, just a shower-rather small but very clean. At 8.oo A.M Iwalked out on to the balcony-the noise from a huge extractor fan was dreadful and affected several rooms. It was not switched off until the kitchens closed at about 9.oo p.m. We requested a move but it took 2 days to effect. The whole complex is then subjected to an animation team who seem to play nothing but very ,very, loud "rap-heavy beat music" just about all day long until 11.3O.p.m. !!!!!
Complaints to the Management are largely ignored. My wife and I did not spend anytime beside the small pool for the whole week-we could not stand the noise !!!We ate our food as quickly as possible to get away.
The food was rather poor and unimaginative- very few veg.It was really a case of get it whilst it was there--so many people.Would we return ? NO WAY !!! Like most Turkish people the Reception Staff were very pleasant and likeable We love Turkey, the culture ,landscape and history but every one of our holidays has been spoilt by the shopkeepers who pester you all the time to buy-they never give up and it gets very, very aggravating and tiring. It really is bad now in Turkey and it gets worse each year. Many tourists were also commenting on how expensive it has become-beer 3 years ago was 5Op p.pint now it is over £2 !!! Clothes are not that cheap now
GUMBET--what a dreadful place !! In my opinion the Turks have spoilt many parts of Turkey-it has lost it's charm ,catering for the masses who prefer fast-food and lager !!!!What a real pity -we will move on to pastures new !
Good hotel all round
Have just returned from staying at Asirlik,We found the hotel excellant for cleanliness and the staff were marvellous from desk to cleaners ,freindly and most helpful.
The hotel is built literally on the side of a hill to the water and there are so many steps down (no lifts) that it is no good for people with leg problems ,wheelchairs or buggies really because the reception and rooms are accessed from top and all the bars ,restaurants and entertainment is at the bottom of the steps.
Breakfast was very good and plenty of it but to have an omelette or fried eggs cooked there was nearly always a queue but still enjoyed all.
We were half board and the dinner in the evening was sometimes disappointing in the meat section and they do seem to grill a lot of chicken outside on the bar b que with chips grilled peppers and tomatoes.
They use a card system for paying for everything was a bit worried at first but really it is a good system no worries of carrying money but advise to pay bill at end of each day as could have a nasty shock at end ,is not exactly cheap and soon mounts up !!!
Entertainment was provided by the staff members and was a bit naff but they tried bit childish and went on a bit. During the day it was nearly the same activities with them every day but you did not have to join in and they did not pester you if you say no.
At this time till the other hotel is open they are accommadating guests that should have been there and they are 'all inclusive' so there is some two tier service going on .
Apart from all these comments we enjoyed it and would return because it is so friendly there ,also we saw the best "Turkish Night" ever there and we have seen a few over the last ten years of going to Turkey ,this is a good hotel to check out. As the season goes on we would say for the younger teens and on great place to stay for Gumbet nightlife you are just around the corner from Bar Street but would not realise it .
I can easily say this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The reception area is very impressive and the rooms huge and immaculate. The staff are so friendly and polite, esp the animation staff (Leo and Gino esp!!). They make you feel so welcome. There is plenty going on during the day, but they leave you alone if thats what you want!! The views from the restuarant are breathtaking (its on the 6th floor roof), and the foods not bad either!! The fact that you get table service for drinks is great too, cause who can be bothered walking to the bar!! Also plenty of good bars to choose from, which is always handy. I am away to book my return trip now, it was that good!!!
