must go and stay
by TripAdvisor Member tracy37
Me and my 9yr old son stayed here for 2wks in june 2007.
The hotel is set right on the beach front, with excellent views of the bay. The hotel is small, but is ideal, the hotel is very clean (all round) it is kept to a high standard. The pool is very big compared to the other hotels. The staff are very friendly and cater for your every need, Romeo and Dolphin (bar staff) are our favourite. Even though there is no entertainment set up at the hotel, the staff do entertain the guests. The rooms are very clean and adequate. We ate at the hotel every nite, the food is to a high standard, we had no complaints and are hoping to go back again this year. excellent.

Unforgettable

We stayed for 2 weeks last September and the staff just made this holiday for us. The hotel is lovely it has a beautiful large pool area and the rooms are spacious and clean. It is in between the Jasmin and siesta right on the beach and is definatly the best.
The bar serves snacks all day and is open 24 hours in peak season. We stayed in a room with a double bed and a single and it had a balcony which overlooked tropical gardens. It is a short stroll into Gumbet and you can jump on the regular Dolmus to Bodrum.
We loved eating in Amigo's mexican which is away from the main drag the waiter is so friendly and the food was absoloutly delicious.
We went on a boat trip for £6 which was brilliant days sunbathing. I don't advise a day trip to pummakale unless you like being on the coach for ages.
This was our first time to turkey and I was aprehensive about the reputation of the turkish men. I have to say they are the friendliest people I have ever met and I will be going back to Turkey this year. The staff at the tropicana were absoloute gems me and my boyfriend have made lifelong friends and we both cried when we left - that is how welcome they had made us feel.
I would deffo recommend this hotel to anyone and I would go back.

Myself and my pal have just returned from a week at the tropicana. Was one of the best holidays ever. Hotel in great location, very clean and staff are second to none, so helpfull and friendly, we were so sad leaving. Gumbet has lots of shops selling the fake designer gear, some good quality some poor. Pubs and restaurants galore, food in all the places we ate very good. Go to the Red Dragon, we went on our last night, excellent meal. Boat trips good, a good day out. Went to Bodum a couple of times, get the bus outside the hotel which is very handy, will drop you back there too. Overall my holiday was first class, the staff at the tropicana made the holiday, can't thank them enough, will definately be going back and tropicana is highly recommended!!!

this small friendly hotel is excellent, manager and staff very friendly, rooms are excellent, spotlessly clean, food is also very good, right next to beach and excellent for daily bus service to bodrum town.
would highly recommend this hotel for either couples or families
1st Class Hotel

We have just returned back from a fabulous week and we are already arranging to re-book direct for next year. This has to be the best place to stay in Gumbet, the pool is a great size and all the same depth, the pool side area has plenty of sunbeds and parasol (it was 48 degrees of the 19th ) and is complemented by the pool bar and the wonderful, friendly staff to whom nothing is too much trouble (thanks Brave & Jimmy). The rooms are modern and spacious and are also very clean. The food is good and the drinks are definatley NOT watered down. The manager Yunis trys to ensure he spends time with all his guests over the holiday and is a very friendly & helpful man. The reception is open 24hrs and if you have a problem it will be sorted out in no time (thanks Elvis). There is not a lot more to say but try it your self, I am sure you will not be disapointed. Can't wait for 2009.

Fantastic hotel, fantastic staff, fantastic holiday!

Don't really know how to explain how wonderful this hotel is! Never heard a complaint whilst there. Me and my friend are 2 21 year old girls, never been to turkey before and were looking for a relaxing beach holiday with some lively and fun nights out, and we got much more than we expected. The hotel itself is directly on the beach with lovely views of the bay especially at sunset. It has its own private sunbeds and cushions on the beach for 1 poundish per day, perfect for relaxing. beach is very clean and if you like dogs you will love the wild dogs who are so friendly and love the people! The pool is huge, and about 1.6 m deep everywhere which is very good for swimming but unfortunatly not so good for watergames if your short like me, but the sea is perfect for that as is nice and shallow.
The rooms were cleaned every day, and not too early around midday which is great if you like to sleep in the mornings like us. As for the views, we didnt have a balcony but we had a lovely terrace with beautiful gardens surrounding it, so dont be too disapointed if you dont get a sea view, you will have lovely views of flowers!
The best part by far of this hotel however were the staff. Everyone of them absolutly made our holiday! from the bar staff to the waiting staff to the free massages from rambo on the beach. They work so hard, and ensure your holiday is a memorable one. We were extremly sad to leave! No entertainment at the hotel however there is a 24hr bar with all the music u can imagine with requests taken well, and the staff make sure you get up and have a dance on the bar, no matter what your age (73 year olds on there when we were there!). Many thanks Cengiz, Romeo, Brave, Rambo, Soy and all the other staff for making our holidays!
Other things to note..hotel is a 5 min walk along the beach to the centre so in a nice quiet part of town, but of course not far away from entertainment, but we prefered getting a taxi home because its quite dark and daunting on the beach for 2 girls at 4am, but it only cost 7 lira or 2/3 pounds. A nice stroll though on the way out! Definatly not too far out. Gumbet centre is quite good, not as mad as tenerife or zante etc, but plenty to do for all ages. There are a few small clubs and plenty of bars and loaddsss of restaurants, definatly reccomend red dragon for a meal of any kind...stunning food (as is the hotel food too!). Watersports etc can be done on the beach, shopping galore just wish i had more spending money. Went on a boat trip for 10 quid all day including a meal, fantastic. Also went to bodrum the dolmus bus stops outside the hotel and costs 2 lira/70p and runs 24hrs. Bodrums very ncie lots of nice restaurants amazing shops and good bars. Also big nightclub if you fancy that but we didnt try it cus it was expensive to get in.
Finally the weather was very hot take lots of suncream 47 degrees in june! nice wind though as it is on a bay, and air con was fantastic.
one last say... stay here! we will definatly be back and reccomending to evryone
best holiday ever

we booked a package with thomas cook, and stayed at tropicana beach hotel self catering. we were a group of mixed 18-29 year olds.Ffrom the minute we got there the staff did evrything to make us welcome. i didnt know what to expect as it was the first time visiting turkey but i would definetly go again.Tthe hotel rooms were to a good standard and the grounds were so pretty. The hotel had lots of character and is situated at the end of the bay which is perfect. Only a 10 minute walk to the busy parts of gumbet on the evening, and with the beach right outside your door we could not have asked for a better place. Our holiday was full of fun packed activities and there were loads to do. The hotels 24 hour bar was very good, as we sat and chatted to the bar staff and made lots of friends! I have advised this hotel to my friends and can not wait to go again. no matter what age the hotel is right for everyone. Our group were not the stay out all night type so this situation was perfect as it was peacful enough but very close to the bar strip for the evening. my birthday was when i was there and the hotel staff, especially the manager made it a birthday to remember! (thanks guys!) Also it was very hot
i miss tropicana beach hotel already

we are due to fly to turkey on the 30th of september and will be bringing a 12 week old baby with us. where is the nearest supermarket to the hotel yasmin and does it sell baby milk and nappies and what water can be used to make up the milk?

Hi
the hotel Yasmin is situated in the peninsula of bodrum and is a little far to Bodrum.I am sure that you can find some supermarkets in Turgut Reis too.
But I suggest you to buy everything that you need in bodrum yes you can find
baby milk and nappies you can use bottled water to make up milk
