What are my options for a day trip from Bodrum to Ephesus during July?
Is there a direct public bus from Bodrum to Selcuk? How many hours it takes?
Alternatively, are there organised tours?
I would love a boat tour option via Kusadasi...
If you go to Ephesus, try and get there as early as possible, take plenty of water with you.
It gets very hot whilst you are in Ephesus and there is little or no shade, you are likely to be there for about + - 4hours.
Mad dogs and Englishmen, out in the miday sun, does not work here :o)
In fact we did not see that much of Bodrum
because we lived almost 8 days on our boat.

Each October, in what is traditionally the last week of the tourist season, Bodrum holds its annual yacht regatta. Any nationality can enter their boat and the town becomes quite busy in this week. Nightlife is supposed to be quite good as the yacht crews finish their days work. I love boats but know very little about the sport so this tip is really a referral for boat lovers to the official site: www.bodrumcup.com
It's a restaurant/beach club by day and everybody just goes there at around 11:30 at night. A great place to be with friends and mingle. Dinner is also served right on the water at your desired table if you book early enough. DJ Metin has been there since my first time there in 2003 and again rocked the 'ship' this past summer of 2006. I love the music (combo of house, Euro dance, some retro (he plays a Gloria Gaynor tune every now and again for some patrons) and of course, top Turkish pop songs of the summer. I love the place and its energy. It is bigger and better since 2004 and have increased their dining space and added another huge bar on the deck. Waiters bring you drinks anywhere you are so that's very handy too. Drink are pricey though at 20YTL for a cocktail. That's US$16!
My friends and I love it that DJ Metin plays our favorite songs. beach chic/marina hip and a fun attitude. Dancing is encouraged but optional.
As I was here in May (Off Season) Not a real lot of people about, I booked my ticket the same morning as I wanted to go. In Peak Season, this would not be advisable. The Ferry to Kos leaves near the Bodrum Castle.

it's incomparably CHEAP and CLEAN... you may find whatever you are expecting from a travel... sun, sea, sailing, diving, snorkeling, sports, dining-vining fresh and healty, swimming, visiting cultural, historical places (not 300 years old as in europe/america, but 3.000-years!!!) , shopping!!! what else???
I bet there is no any other place in Europe to have rest with these prices, quality and facilities...
