More about Yasmin Bodrum Resort

The Yasmin Hotel-what a wonderful place!

by TripAdvisor Member summertimeishere2007

As soon as we arrived at this delightful hotel, we knew we were going to have a lovely holiday. All the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and would bend over backwards to ensure that you had a fantastic holiday experience. This was our second visit to Turkey and they exceeded our expectations in all areas. The food was excellent, and there was plenty of choice of international cuisine. There was a 24-hour bar, which served local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks; we had several Baileys on ice one evening, for no extra charge! Great……………….. Room was very clean, and we were provided with a complimentary diet coke, coke and fanta, and two bottles of still water were topped up daily in our fridge at no extra cost. The rooms are decorated to a high standard, and are kept very clean; they have a Venetian blind that could be opened if desired, to look out to sea, whilst taking a bath or shower. There was also a lovely Thallasso pool and spa, which invigorated the senses! We ventured into Turketreiss for a spot of dinner one evening to find a fish restaurant and were lucky enough to stumble across a beautiful fish restaurant with a very smiley waiter, who was more than happy to arrange your fave recipe if required. Ours was king prawns marinated in cheese, tomatoes, green and red chillies-which was cooked to our absolute utmost liking, not to mention the lovely lamb chops cooked in mint sauce and rosemary, they were a symphony of flavours. If you require ant further info, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will furnish you with further information.

Very pleasant stay

by TripAdvisor Member rurkee

My wife and our two kids spent one wek at the the yasmin bodrum from 20th August 2007, if you are looking for ultra all inclusive and not much travelling outside the complex ,then this is the ideal place, we arrived in the early hours at bodrum and it took approx 30 mins from leaving the plane to the taxi.By taxi it takes about 45 mins and the hotel is tucked away with a security gate. First impression of the reception and lobby was amazing, we were given towel cards which you can change as often as you like.Every room has a sea view with either a garden which we had or balcony.Meal selections were plentiful there was a barbecue laid on every night a diet area and fruit counter. You can also opt for the themed restaurants but are not opened everday, there is also a pizz restaurant near the pier, you will never be short of cold beverages and they have hot vending machines scattered all over the place. Most guests were of russian, french, german, iran origin and had a swanky cosmopolitan feel about the place. All non motoriesed water activities were included they also have a night club and amphi theatre wiv reg night shows.

good value holiday

we stayed at the yasmin bodrum from 25/9 to 09/10 2006 for our honeymoon. upon arrival we were made to feel very welcome and told to relax in the lobby which was beautiful. domed ceiling with mosaics on.our room was lovely with a queen sized bed and as it was our honeymoon we had a bottle of wine with fresh fruit and nuts waiting for us and also a card from the hotel to say happy honeymoon which we thought was a lovelt touch.the only thing we missed was a proper balcony to sit out on of a morning, the balconys are french balconys.
there is a main buffet restaurant where breakfast, late breakfast ,lunch, and dinner are seved but also an italian, fish and turkish ala carte restaurants to eat in which you book your reservations at a little desk near reception. we only ate in the italian once and was a little dissapointed as we ordered pizza and was bought half a pizza each. there is also a snack bar near the beach which was nice as you ordered off ac menu.cheeseburger and chips, salmon which was lovely, morrocan chicken, fish and chips etc etc.this is also where the ice creams are served.the meals in the buffet restaurant can get a little tedious, loads of choice but not much to cater for english taste buds!! spaggetti bolognese or chips ,
so we tended to have something from the snack bar around 5pm(closes at 5.30) then just have a little from the buffet around 8.30.
the waterslides are great fun,we went on them nearly everyday and make a nice touch to the hotel.
there are jettys into the sea to sunbathe on if you wish but we liked the beach. one tip is dont weigh down your case with beach towels, when you check in you will be given a towel card which you exchange for a towel from a man near the beach and when you finished hand in the towel, receive your card back ready for the next day.also towels are very cheap to buy from the market in town on saturdays. if you stay at the yasmin a trip to turgetreis market is a must !! 3 euros return on the minibus from hotel or nip down to the watersports centre on the beach and book the speedboat, 8 euros each.you can buy just about everything from the market and its so cheap.
all in all we loved this holiday, and the only minor gripe was the repitition of food in the buffet restaurant. we hired a car from the hotel and saw much more of turkey than if we had just stsayed in the hotel for two weeks and i had a visit to the spa in the hotel whre i had a lovely half day pampering session for 79 euros (about £50) which i thought was well worth it.you can use the sauna, steam room and indoor pool free but any treatments in the thallaso centre are extra.
we would have liked a litte more entertainment at night but all in all a really nice relaxing holiday was had and we met some lovely people while we were there(especially the two familys from manchester, hello if your reading this). hope this review helps to anybody booking a holiday to the yasmin bodrum resort.

Very good quality

by TripAdvisor Member cperry

I spent the last week of August 2007 at the Yasmin Bodrum with my wife and six year-old son. Overall, we were delighted with what this all-inclusive resort had to offer. It has excellent facilities for adults and children alike, was immaculately clean during our stay, and being self-contained with all amenities close together, it felt secure to the extent that we were relaxed about our child going to explore by himself.

We had a Myndos Club room, which was furnished in a minimalist style, with good quality fixtures and fittings, and from our French balcony we enjoyed a fabulous view across the bay. Indeed, this whole resort has a terrific location with panoramic views out to sea towards the island of Kos. In the hot weather, we appreciated the air-conditioning, which was not too noisy, and the mini-bar being refilled daily with bottled water for no extra charge.

Many of the rooms are located in what is effectively a village built into the hillside, so it can be a tiring walk up the steps in the heat, but there is a shuttle service which starts from outside Reception which will transport you for no charge up to your room. If you do walk it up or down after dark, watch your step, as the route is no so well lit in all places.

We ate all our meals in the Main Restaurant, where a comprehensive buffet service is provided. This may not appeal to everyone, and could get a bit repetitive after a few nights, but we always found a good range of hot and cold food, and particularly enjoyed the evening barbecue, where you can watch the fresh meat and fish being prepared in front of you. The resort was full at the time of our stay, so the restaurant tended to get very busy at evening mealtimes, and we sometimes had to search around for a free table, but contrary to some reviews which I read, the tables are cleared and reset for you by the staff. Note that in most of the Main Restaurant smoking is commonplace, which is a bit of a turn-off for me personally, but that's the way it is there. If you fancy a change of scene for evening meals, there are three à la carte restaurants in the resort which you are entitled to use once each during your stay.

This was the first time we had stayed all-inclusive, and what was a real hit for us was the availability round the clock of all hot and cold drinks (all included), hot and cold food throughout most of the day either from the buffet restaurant or the snack bar near the beach (again, all included). Also included is the daily ice cream at 5PM, popular with children and adults alike!

The resort offers two outdoor swimming pools. The Activity Pool has music and a variety of organised activities such as aquarobics six days a week, which is good fun if you like that sort of thing. For a more sedate atmosphere, you also have the Relaxation Pool. This does not have any children's section or shallow end, so may not be suitable for all children. The sun lounger and parasol capacity at the Relaxation Pool is not large for the size of the resort, so at high season you may need to be down there quite early to get yourself a place. But there are additional tables and chairs on the adjacent terrace which can serve as an overspill.

We found the water-slides to be great fun, certainly for children and also for adults who are brave enough!

Generally the staff seemed friendly and efficient, especially the cleaners and waiters who were particularly good with the children. In contrast, we found the front desk staff quite miserable and unhelpful, but fortunately we had few dealings with them. I wonder if they behave differently towards their business guests?

The all-inclusive package certainly seemed very comprehensive, but there are extras you may choose to pay for. At the onsite water sports centre, down by the beach, we booked a speedboat tour around the bay, and my wife treated herself to a foam bath and massage at the Thalasso Centre. You will find that all extras outside the all-inclusive are priced in Euros, but if, like me, you took Turkish Lira, you can also pay with this without losing out. I believe US Dollars and GBP are also accepted, so you may not need to change any money at all.

Overall, we loved the Yasmin Bodrum, and are just sorry that we only stayed for one week. It deserved longer. For an excellent quality family holiday, I think we could hardly have done better.

We stayed at the hotel 5 nights and enjoed evry moment .the hotel is very big nice decoration people are very friendly they service you with a smile .You open your windows to a wonderful view of the sea with many small islands .Every night there is dance musicin the hotel . there are two open swiming pools and an indoor pool there is an activity room very well equiped . the food is very good and you can get some new ideas from the chef and use them at home there are many turkish sweets and many fruit cakes the service in the dinning room is very good . we have visited the hotel on April the weather was nice but it was too cold for me to swim in the sea .
The hotel is located near Turgutreis which has a very nice and cheap market on Saterday you can find almost evrey thing there food and clothes wool for kneeting and for making dantel .Remember to negotiate about prices the best prices are when you are the first buyer in the morning. you can buy all the turkish sweets and the teas in the market after you taste them .
There is a shuttel from the hotel to Turgutreis and to Bodrum .Bodrum has a cloth market on Tuesdays and food market on Fridays. If you make a round with the dolmosh that goes to the castel it is as if you are in a city sight seeing for 1 euro only.you take this dolmosh in the central bus station.

arrived at hotel, first impression it looked impressive but is deffinatly not a five star deluxe more a three star plus.we paid for the palas rooms which turned out to be very average even though they were surposed to be worth the extra money.cleaners did an excellent job.food was the worst i have ever tasted in my 20 years of going to turkey and always cold, whatever is left from the night time is always served up for breakfast we were served sprouts and instant mash for 14 days on the run,we were very happy to decline the invitation for breakfast.the hotel is miles from anywhere and feels like a prison,no where to go for a stroll, cleaners and bar staff work very hard its not there fault the hotel is badly run.have stayed in 5 star deluxe in turkey before and it has been fantastic just dont go to the yasmin,we were the only british couple there for the first week but met a great family from scotland the 2nd week hi to dale, rosemary and sleepy head lisa

best ever!

Worth every penny!

I stayed here from the 11th May 2007 for a week.
Having never been to a 5star hotel in Turkey I was a bit scepticle, as I've heard that 5star does not necessarily meet up to standards in Turkey. Although I have to say as soon as we arrived every need we had was tended to. And it definately was a 5star in our eyes.

The hotel was beautiful and always very very clean, the views were spectacular and the staff were so friendly, extremely hardworking and always on the ball.

The food was quite repetitive at the buffet where breakfast, lunch and dinner was served but you had a very large variety of different food. There are 3 other restaurants situated around the resort where you could choose to eat dinner, two required you to book in advance. All free as it is all inclusive.
The food was lovely and I am quite a fussy eater, although towards the end of our holiday it got quite busy and you had to get up extra early to make sure you got a decent breakfast.
They had a 24hour bar that served local alcohol but also had some familiar alcohol at an extra charge and the beer was watered down.
The waiters were always ready to help before you even thought to ask.

The spa was fantastic and even got a free massage by luck. They have a gym and 6 pools but thats including the thalasso spa pools which are at extra charge.

The hotel had spectacular views as it was on the top of a very steep hill, something to bare in mind if walking is a difficulity. They did have golfcarts that drivers would take you in if asked.
The hotel was extremely baby friendly, there were a number of families there and the staff were very good with children.

The location was 10minutes away from Turgutreis city centre by bus, and 30minutes away from bodrum by shuttlebus. So not exactly ideal if you wanted lively nightlife. You are a bit icilated from nightlife as the last bus back to the hotel is at 12pm, and taxis are a ripoff.

The nightclub in the hotel was not exactly what we was expecting, it was always quite empty and the music was very european, kind of house with abit of techno.
The live music was really good if you like turkish/greek music, otherwise it will sound very different to you.

This hotel is definitely good for couples or families who want a nice relaxing holiday. I will definately be back and will be bringing my daughter with me this time. Not recomended for single people as there is not much to do at night.

Good but could have been better

The food was as you would imagine for an all inclusive resort when you have to feed 800 people in buffet format.

Breakfast: lots of cereals, cheese, bread, eggs etc and nice omelettes. Fruit juice was OK
Lunch: we always ate in the snack bar which overlooked the sea. It serves nice pizzas, chips, steak sandwiches and salads.
Dinner: It was a bit repetitive but we always found nice food to eat. However, if all you normally eat is pizza and chips then the evening meals will not be for you.

The service was pretty poor in all areas, Drinks by the pool, restaurant etc. Just get used to asking for knifes and forks and drinks. You feel rude at first but if you don’t you will be waiting a long time.. They don’t speak that much English either..

The room was very good appearance wise and comfort but we had an door that linked to next doors room. You could hear everything through this door which meant that we had to listen to the Israelis next door when they arrived at 2am and put the TV on full blast. Try to get a room without an adjoining door. Air con in the room as great, the bathroom was 10/10. The views from the Juliet balcony were fantastic. Cleaners were great,

Pools were spot on, entertainment team were good although the music was quite loud if you wanted the quiet life.

Trip to Ephesus was OK but a lot of time wasted visiting ceramics factory and the House of the Virgin Mary,

Jet skis aren’t included but are good fun and easy to hire.

Main complaints: rose was white wine mixed with red wine in front of you. There was no way to buy proper fruit juice except from the shop across the road from the hotel entrance although if you want to drink beer or coke, fatnta, you can to your hearts content. Staff were lazy and spoke poor English.

Main compliments: Pools very good good, views fantastic, Rooms very good except noisy. Clean hotel, no food poisioning, Cheap holiday.
