The final stop of the boat tour before return is the istuzu beach.. Where the caretta caretta turtles lay their eggs.. There you can have a break and get your tiredness off with a cold drink...

More swamps

On our way to the ruins of ancient Caunos, the Dalyan river was sometime wider but always with a lot of swamps on both sides (photo 1).

At some places, the river had kind of gates that had to be opened for our passage (photo 2). At first, we wondered why this gates. We understood later.

Sometimes, small huts stood among the reeds (photo 3 and 4)

"A beautiful beach used by the locals."

This stunning beach is off the beaten track as you have to travel a rocky road over a mountain to reach it. The road is lined with honey bee hives that are tended by local families. It is like stepping back in time - wonderful.

The bustling, vibrant market place in Dalyan is a great place to enjoy a coffee as you watch the world go by
