Not A Regular FORGET IT!

We arrived at the entrance of the Yunus at 10.30pm, in complete darkness with nobody to greet us. Thanks to the taxi driver, it only took 9 minutes to find someone to take us along paths, past some overgrown, to our unlit room entrance, the door half blocked by a mosquito infested bush, which we had to prune back ourselves later. There was no hairdryer as promised, but we did get a ripped pillow case, sheet and bath towel, along with a soiled toilet brush.
Also the air conditioning gave off a stale odour.
The owner Kamuran is in total control of everybody, and was very unfriendly, and most uncooperative, particularly when he was having one of his many siestas, laying horizontal in the main bar reception, if not to busy then, he was occupied on his laptop, virtually unapproachable, during our entire stay, five words only, with an arrogant stare, “I am having a coffee”. His brother Mali was even more foreboding, moving begrudgingly like a snail, excepting when he despicably ran 20 yards, to kick a friendly tail wagging dog, and chase him off the property. This in front of 4 guests, without a single word of justification or reason.
I will also add the hotel stocked only “small” beers, costing just 20p (0.5tl) less than a large one, being available at other hotels. The hotel is now compromised (privacy) and towered, being overlooked, by a large 2 storey large new development 20 feet away next door, which was still being built during our stay.
The main clientele brigade is mostly repeat returning (same time) retired Public Sector management types. When they left (children time), the breakfasts became reduced to minimal, also commencing late. We thankfully vacated early (financial loss), to save our holiday. We had no regrets! we found a cheaper friendly REAL Turkish family run hotel, which was brilliant.
Summary, the owner, and his family were particularly distant from anyone, who was not a regular, a rather cold atmosphere existed, most unlike any other accommodation we have ever experienced, in our 24 years, of visiting Turkey.
This in our opinion, is a hotel NOT RECOMMENDED, and if you want even a half happy holiday, the Keysan Yunus hotel should be avoided.

Unique Quality: Good. Location By River (Now Compromised by Developement Next Door).

Travel Tips for Dalyan

Boat tour scenes 7.. Back to boat again

by Erkmen

After lunch, now is the time to go downward along the canal.. The second part of the tour is much more interesting.. so dont be confused with the first part..

the boat will pass in front of the rock tombs and leads to mudbaths..

Canals of Dalyan

by Erkmen

When you take the boat tour from the town center, you will see many other boats, some are private, some are previous tours..

Boats stroll along the Canals of Dalyan, and there with the play of the sunlight, sometimes you can catch unforgettable views..

Dalyan

Dalyan is an attractive riverside town situated between the beautiful Itztuzu Beach and the large Lake Köycegiz. The bank of the river is lined with restaurants, which look out onto the famous rock tombs carved into the cliff on the opposite side, and onto the procession of boats taking people to and from the beach or the lake.

We stayed at the comfortable and secluded Hotel Sultan Palas (www.sultanpalasdalyan.co.uk), which is on the other side of the river to Dalyan town, and is reached by the hotel's own river boat, which also transports guests to and from Dalyan during the day.

A holiday at Dalyan almost inevitably includes time on boats. We spent one day on a boat on Lake Köycegiz and another sailing past Itztuzu beach and round to Ekincik Bay; and we also went on a trip to Gocek from where we spent a leisurely day sailing round the nearby islands on a gulet.

Even a trip to the ruins of the ancient city of Kaunos started with a ride across the river on a rowing-boat ferry rowed by the ferry lady in a rather unorthodox manner standing up!

We usually had our evening meals at the hotel, but one evening we went out to the Ley Ley Restaurant (www.leyley.com), which is well known not only for its excellent food and Turkish dancing, but also for the storks that nest in the adjacent trees. One was even wandering around some of the tables!
