tempreture in April

by abbeda

Hi,
I was thinking of visiting Fethiye in easter holidays but wasn't sure what the tempretures are going to be at that time of year.If we don't go then we could go in first week of august. Please could anyone help so I can plan my trip.
Thanks in advance

Climate tables here

http://www.world66.com/asia/middleeast/turkey/fethiye/lib/climate

will give you a rough idea of what to expect.

I found Fethiye & surrounding area very hot in late July/August but locals suggested I had arrived in a heatwave that year (temps in the very high 30s most days).

Travel Tips for Fethiye

The sandy pebbles

by Aurorae

The beach at the Blue Lagoon at Ölüdeniz is the most beautiful one I have ever been to. There are small miniature pebbles, almost like sand, but so cozy and pleasant to walk on. They are a little piece of art each, and I "stole" a bit of it to bring home with me. Now imagine if everyone took a bit of the beach home... Not good! :) But I just couldn't resist!

The abyss

by Aurorae

When you are inside the canyon, you can look up and see the blue skies and have the feeling like you're trapped in a hole you can't escape, but at the same it feels so safe and mystic, like you're hiding and you have your own secret place...

Calis Beach

by mikelisaanna

Calis Beach is a 2 km long pebble beach located west of Fethiye's town center and marina. It is where many of the town's hotels are located and features a paved boardwalk along which there are dozens of cafes, restaurants, and bars. To swim at Calis Beach you should wear sandals or water shoes because of the pebbles and rocks. The water is clean and fairly calm. Our daughter Anna definitely enjoyed swimming there. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas are available to rent for the day.

Great places to see around

by Jawnuta

We were staying here for few days after taking overnight bus from Cappadocia.
From here we traveled by car to many places including Pamukkale, Xantos and our favorite Patara where we spent 3 fantastic days.

There is no separate page for Patara on Virtualtourist therefore I will be writing some of my Patara tips here on this page.

In the harbor you can rent a boat to take you on a cruise. There are boats of all shapes, sizes and comfort.
From this harbor you can also take hydrofoil to Rhodes which departs every few days.

"PATARA (GELEMIS)"

Patara is a small town near by.
It is famous for its ruins (ancient Patara town), for its beach (beautiful sandy beach) and for it not being overdeveloped.
Here you can find wonderful Turkish restaurant and eat seating arm in arm with local people and their families. Here you can wake up every morning to the sound of village life.

you can find more information on Patara on my Gelemis page PATARA/GELEMIS
