Hey there
Destinations seem slightly away than one another : think about Samos-Mykenos-Santorini ,(you need to drive up to Kusadasi , well if your not particularly interested in Rhodes,Crete part) and best of the island cruising with reasonable prices i guess:)

enjoy :)

Travel Tips for Fethiye

Hibiscus

by Aurorae

Hibiscus trees are EVERYWHERE! You'll find them on the streets, in hotels, cafes, virtualy everywhere! On absolutely every corner! Each tree/bush has plenty of flowers, crimson red and it looks so lovely!
This one was taken at Blue Lagoon, Ölüdeniz.

Paragliding

by Erkmen

The seaside village of Olu Deniz near Fethiye is surrounded on three sides by impressive mountains and is fast becoming the place to be in Turkey for serious Para-gliders.

Baba Dag(Mountain) at Oludeniz offers three takeoff sites at 1700, 1800 and 1900 meters, facing SW , E and NE / SE respectively, which enable takeoffs with any wind direction. Imagine launching off majestic Babadag , flying with a bird's eye view of the most picturesque bay in Turkey -the Oludeniz Beach and Blue Lagoon.

Currently there are many private companies who are arranging guided flights and giving lessons. You only need to choose to fly.. Paraglider is a large canopy 35/40 feet wide, which is made up of cell segments, open at the leading edge to allow air to inflate the canopy.

Fethiye: Walk to Kaya Köyü Pt 1.

by Intrepidduck

In 1923 there was a populations swap between the countries of Turkey and Greece - a kind of mutual ethnic cleansing!

Like in Cappadocia, Kaya Köyü's Orthodox Christians of Greek ancestry were expelled. The entire town was vacated and what remains to this day is a virtual ghoast town other than the recent tourist developments on its edges.

Xanthos River

by sandysmith

Near the entrance to the Saklikent Canyon you get a good view of the Xanthos River. The Xanthos River was the longest and largest river in Lycia and provides the main water supply for many of the Lycian cities. It begins about 25 miles inland and empties into the sea at Patara. In this area there are some great trout farms and consequently restaurants...if on a tour you will surely stop at one for lunch.

Fethiye Tracking / Day Hiking Routes

by galatian

"Lycian Way Tracking Routes"

Lycian Way Tracking Route is signed in late 1990's. About 550 km tracking route which connects several ancient Lycia cities is signed on the Fethiye mountains. Without a guide with a wonderful scenes/archeolagical sites and fauna you can track. Limited options for accomadition at villages on the way. Best time to visit spring.
