LYKIAWORLD,OLUDENIZ

by donk71

Hi Folks , Does anyone have any comments on the above complex . We are going on the 25th Sept for a friends wedding (Blue Lagoon) and wondered what to expect . We have never been to Turkey and wondered if there were any 'must do ' excursions in that area. Also, can anyone advise on what temperature to expect(we are going for 2 weeks) We are going 'meals included' but do not want to eat in the complex every night . Any 'must go to ' restaurants in Olu Deniz?

Is it safe at night time to stroll around the area ?

Many thanks . I await all your helpful comments .

I wish a happy marriage and life to your friends.I well come to Turkey.Oludeniz is very safe. It is 10-15 kms away from the capital called Fethiye. Look at Fethiye pages. Fethiye is also safe. september is the best season. The temparature will be not more then 30 grad. You can buy what ever you wish in Fethiye.Good quality of real trademarks and copies. Near Oludeniz you can para-fly from a very high mountain called Babadag. Kayakoey is an old greek village left in 1924's. You can visit the ruins. For 2 weeks you can hire a car and can make daily tours to Kas, Demre(the home of Santa Claus) Antalya ect. You can learn more in hotel. You can find every kind of information in hotel. It is very safe. but you must keep your thing on your eyes. Dont put your hand bag on the near by chair. Take care. Every thing can happen in every cpountry. Be your own police. Who knows. may you came happily and return happily.

Travel Tips for Fethiye

Flowers everywhere

by Aurorae

Wherever you turn, you'll be facing lots and lots of beautiful flowers of all colours - mostly from hotel gardens and bars, but also on the streets and needless to say, along the beach everywhere. It gives such a cheerful atmosphere.

Landing

by Aurorae

If you fly in tandem, most probably you'll land on the beach, but solo pilots land exactly on the carpet on the pedestrian area. Landing is just a soft touch, like ballerina :)), only a few steps! You'll be asked to either lift your feet and then the pilot does all the job, or you'll touch the ground together. It's a very light touchdown!

Lycian Tombs

by mikelisaanna

Fethiye was formerly a Lycian city named Telmessus. The current buildings and streets of Fethiye have completely covered up the remains of that city, but a number of Lycian tombs have survived, which are carved into the cliffs above Fethiye. The tombs from the outside resemble the more famous carved facades of Petra in Jordan (but on a smaller scale). However, their interiors are very plain.

A group of the tombs are open to visitors. They are reachable by car or taxi, and there are a number of signs leading you up to them. Because of the tombs position in the cliffs above the town, they also provide you with a good view of Fethiye and the surrounding mountains and offshore islands.

Mosaic

by Aurorae

ALong the way, as you climb up to the top of the island, you'll run onto some of the mosaics. They are not protected or hidden from the weather conditions, but they are still there, quite well preserved. There is a fence and a sign not to step in.

Beautiful Fethiye...

"Fethiye'den..."

I was there... Searching for a pocket of cigarettes before going to disco pub... We were almost 40 crazy people in Fethiye.. Came by technical tour of university.. My eyes were like baloons under my make up.. Daylight was for history and at nite we never slept for 10 days...
We danced until early morning..
We had a very nice breakfast one of the tea gardens in the morning..
I missed you Fethiye... You were so beautiful... I'll come to find you again, I promise...
