Lake alike
by Aurorae
Some parts of the Blue lagoon look like a lake. If I didn't know it was sea, i would have sworn it was lake! The water is so still, like oil, and the vegetation is more continental alike. But of course, the beach beds and umbrellas are inevitable!!!
Pamukkale
by Aurorae
Pamukkale is the natural wonder, unique in the world. It means the Cotton Palace (pamuk = cotton, also in Serbian :)) They are cascades of carbonate rocky pools filled with thermal water, and they slope from one into the other. The scientific explanation is that hot thermal springs pouring down the hillside deposit calcium carbonate, which solidifies as travertine.
Kleopatra had her spa there, and there is still preserved her bath.
Pamukkale are over 200km away from Fethiye, but there are tours organized and it takes 3h to get there. Do not miss!!! But try to go there in less touristic period, as it is overswamped with tourists...
Saklikent
by Erkmen
Saklikent is between Fethiye and Antalya.. It is probably the best canyon you can see in Turkey, a vey attractive entrance and a long path.. The gorge is so attractive that though it has a bit dangerous path, it hosts tens of thousands of tourists every year.. The water is icy cold.. (see my picture in the traelogue.. bizzz ).. We have tried to go as far as we can however could not manage to reach the end..
Turquoise Fethiye
by serntar
Fethiye is the place where blue and green hug each other and create turquoise while Aegean Sea is becoming Mediterranean.
When you are in Fethiye you have to arrange your your schedule very carefully since it serves a lot to you.
"Blue Lagoon"
It is the most beatufil beach in Turkey for me with several facilities like canoe, pedal boats, parasailing, etc...
You can also see the people who are paragliding while you are swimming or sunbathing, since their landing area is very close to blue lagoon.
