Great Budget getaway

This is a very low priced set of 20 apartments family run and very clean and friendly. They have a well maintained pool area and bar which serves meals and snacks. It is set back behind the main road which leads to the beach a short 5-10min walk away. The family are very friendly and will help you with all your trips and travel needs with their good local knowledge. We found they were well known and very well liked which meant we were well looked. You are paying for 2 star but the beds and sofas are very clean and very comfy. The family and staff were very eager to help in any way so we had a smooth holiday and felt very much at home very quickly. You can have airconditioning in the bedroom just ask for the remote to work it and it is charged at about £4 per day and works a treat.

If you have walking difficulties like me. I travel with an eletric scooter and one guest could walk a little but used a wheelchair after a stroke. .............

The side streets the aprtemnts are set on like all off the main road in the area are gravel and can be a bit tricky but I used my small travel scooter it was bumpy but Ok. The main road pavemnet was smooth but a couple of large curbs I had to get off the scooter on the way to the beach. I managed to get the hang of it after a couple of days and found a route with the smallest curbs.I crossed the bridge to the beach using the road as the wooden walkway is quite narrow. If you stick to the right hand side of the road as if you were a car the Turkish drivers are very good they pip the horn to let you know they are there but are very awair and we had no trouble at all.
Note there is a big concete hump just before the main gates we had to lift the scooter part over. This is the road not the poppy apartments fault. Once through the gates there is a gentle slope and then a sharper slope down to the walk area. Ground floor apartments are at this level and have 1 small step up to the bathroom from the hall otherwise they are all one level. The main living area is big enough to use a wheelchair inside and the bathroom shower is big enough to sit small chair in if you need to shower sat down. You could use a wheelchair in the bedroom down one side at least if you needed to. The bar area has a lot of steps leading up to it. However the famil & staff are very helpfull and would bring food or drink down for you if you really could not make the strairs they are very friendly and nothing is ever any trouble so don't be put off by the stairs.Ground floor apartments have a side door all ground level and a back door leading to a small patio and a front door leading 2 steps up to the pool. So if you can manage the odd step and yet cannot walk far this is perfect for you. You can almost step out of the door onto a sunlounger. Hope this helps.

Unique Quality: Quiet and friendly peacfull place yet they have fun nights and BBQ's to keep it never getting boring. Short walk to great long pebbly beach with fantastic.

The apartments are 'exclusive' to Thomson clients (and possibly for other European holiday operators linked with Thomson e.g, Tui) so you may find that individual bookings are not possible (at least, not in high season).

I can't find a website and can only find this address:

Ovacik Camii, Civari Firin Sokak, Oludeniz

Travel Tips for Fethiye

Along the coast...

by Aurorae

As you go with the boat along the coast and islands, you'll find lots of little coves with emerald green water and exuberant vegetation, often reaching to the sea, and lots of fish, sea shells and other marine life. It is so picturesque and beautiful, perhaps the most beautiful marine scenes I have ever seen... together with the Adriatic! :)
This is a scene from St.Nicholas island.

Entrance bar

by Aurorae

Before you cross the river in Saklikent canyon, there is this beautiful "bar" on the water and rocks, typical Turkish style, and every winter when the water swells, it takes away the place, and every spring, the poor owner is building it again!!!

Patara Beach and Ancient Town of Patara

by Jawnuta

Patara Beach and Ancient Town of Patara is a great place for one day trip or longer vacation.
We stayed there for 3 days, enjoying fantastic beach, great food, local atmosphere, and our gracious JET PENSION.

A delightful and welcoming town

"A really nice place"

Fethiye is a really nice place. It is a marina town that has a quite large transiant expat population.

There is quite a bit to do here, the shopping is good, the restaurants great, and there are many places to go locally for day or half day trips.
