Oludeniz Beaches
by sandysmith
There is a public beach in Oludeniz - no entry fee for this but its a bit more shingly and pebbly than the famous lagoon side. Boats leave from the public beach area on trips to Butterfly valley and St Nicolas Island - a great day out on the boat. Plenty of tavernas and hotels behind the public beach too. With the mountains behind its a popular place for paragliders - watching them land on the beach was fascinating, I wish I was brave enough to have tried it back them. Several VT'ers have howevewr and the pictures of the lagoon form the air on their pages are amazing!
In-flight
by Aurorae
As you fly, you'll be in awe, not only for the spectacular landscape and views, but for the very feeling itself, especially if your pilot (or yourself, if you fly solo!) perform spirals or any other fligh exibitions, it's better than a rollercoaster!

Xanthos
by sandysmith
A trip to the ancient Lycian city of Xanthos is often combined with the trip to Saklikent. Here you can see examples of lycian tombs as well. The Lycians were a sea-faring people who believed that the souls of their dead would be transported from the tombs to the afterworld by demon birds, and hence often placed their tombs along the coast or at the top of cliffs - such as at Xanthos where Pillar tombs can be seen. These Pillar tombs were oldest type and were used mainly for important dynasts.
More of these temple tombs, notably the Nereid Monumument, can be seen in the British Museum - such a shame they couldn't have been preserved insitu :-S

Fethiye is a small touristic town on the crossing of Aegean sea and mediterrenean sea.. Or as it is said Where Aegean meets with med..
Fethiye serves alot to visitors with its variety of choices.. Most people knows Oludeniz as the most favourite place to go near Fethiye However you shall consider the 12 Islands, Dalyan, Saklikent and other surronding places..
Fethiye has also got a rich historical inherit, the city is surronded with Taurus mountains and there are many Rock tombs that you can visit...
"Oludeniz"
One of the most beautiful wonders in the world.. It worths travelling miles and miles, for the turquoise blue waters, wonderful lagoon...
Oludeniz consists of two parts: First part is Belcekiz which lies too long through the bay to the lagoon. This part is the wavy part of Oludeniz . The second part is the real Oludeniz with the lagoon inside. This part is the calm and shallow part.
One small note about Oludeniz, is it is one of the most ideal places in the world for Paragliding..
