More about Mersoy Bellavista Suites

mersoy bellavista suites - what a treat!!!!

by TripAdvisor Member CheeseyBeans

We stayed at the bellavista suites for 1 week in july 2008, my boyfriend and i booked a last minute deal with sunmaster holidays and we had a fantastic time.
The hotel is very nice, very clean and well maintained.
The room was spacious and very comfertable, we had a queen size bed and a single and was made up every day. We had a flat screen and dvd player which we had to request and cost 5tyl- about £2.40ish and rooms are air condtioned!
The only downside and this is my only complaint was our balcony and pool view ( which we paid extra for) balcony was tiny and as we were on the top floor there was a 4ft brick wall which you couldnt see over when sat down at the table let alone have a pool view. The other floors had glass fronts so much better view and wouldnt feel quite so small. We did ask to be moved but the hotel was full and they couldnt move us until the 5th day of our 7 day holiday so we didnt see the point and made do!
I will advise not to take anything out of the mini bar as it is a total rip off i had a bottle of water and we were charged 5yt when the shops sell these at 0.50ytl, the hotel do not like you taking food or drink into the hotel but we did sneak a few things in and they were never removed from our room by the maids so....what they dont know wont hurt eh???

The staff were all really friendly and happy, couldnt do enough for you and always had time for you. The boss even bought us cocktails on our last day!!!
There was entertainment some nights but not all, we had turkish folk dancing, belly dancers and singers the week we were there.

The food was nice, we stayed half board so had breakfast and evening meal, lots of choice and plenty of it as long as you didnt turn up 10 mins before it finished. Interesting desserts may i add!!!
There is also a bar and restaurant next door which you got 20% discount at if you fancied a change from the hotel. We didnt actually eat here but food looked nice and cocktails were a treat!

All in all we had the most enjoyable time at the bellavista suites and would definately go back!

total chill out at the bellavista

by TripAdvisor Member kevbevBarnsley

My wife and i have just returned from our wonderful stay at the Mersoy Bellavista Suites (3rd / 17th July 2008 ) After arriving in the early hours , we were met by a friendly receptionist who helped us to our room with our luggage. The room was a Deluxe pool view, it was very clean with plenty of storage space. After looking around the next day , we decided to upgrade ( Istanbul Suite 4303 ) just for that little bit of extra luxury.
The pool area is absolutely beautiful and the sun loungers are made of wood not cheap plastic. There are mountains on two sides of the hotel and the scenery is stunning. The pool and bar manager, Freddy, and his staff are extremely friendly and polite.
We stayed on a half board basis and the breakfast was delicious, there is quite a wide variety from cereal to a cooked breakfast. The evening meals are also varied with fish, chicken, lamb and kebab dishes, we actually preferred this to the a la carte in the Mersoy Exclusive next door.
Within our stay we made use of all the facilities from the fully equipped gym to the Turkish bath, my wife also had a pedicure, facial and an oil massage in the Atlantis spa area. The hotel was very, very clean they have maids in every day and there are fresh towels daily.
One thing that made our stay special was that the hotel owners made themselves known and always ate with the guests at mealtimes.
One person i have to mention is Carly in reception, who does everything in her power to make your stay at the Mersoy Bellavista Suites a happy and relaxed one.
We stayed here with another couple, and in our opinion we feel that any complaint in other reviews were dealt with promptly and most were down to first choice misinterpreting things in the brochure.
Overall we had a perfectly chilled out holiday the only thing we request is that they increase the variety of night time entertainment.

Had a great holiday

by TripAdvisor Member RuddsSurrey

Having read all the reviews before we travelled we were a bit concerned - but rest assured this is a great hotel. We had two suites which were lovely and many of the things we were warned about have been sorted out. We didn't have to pay for a safe, the mini bar in the room is not too expensive and you are given a bill each day so you can keep tabs, the food was great and the wine list is reasonable (there was no pressure to buy expensive wine as one other reviewer had said), the pool is lovely and clean (and there is a great indoor pool too which is really cold and refreshing), staff were great (especially Freddy, Carly and Harika), our rooms were cleaned every day and we were given clean towels - all in all a very lovely experience.

The only problems we had were with the transfers to and from the airport (do not travel with AtoB travel if you can help it - they were appalling - not booked by the hotel but with our travel agent) and Onur Airline were dreadful too - very rude air hostesses and our pilot tried to land at the wrong airport on the way there which was very hairy - people were crying - it was very scary!

Apart from that we had a great time thanks to all at Mersoy Bellavista Suites.

exceeded expectations in all areas

by TripAdvisor Member pandaKent

very clean and comfortable hotel with very helpful and friendly staff.

There was a good choice of food and it was well prepared.

Entertainment was good--especially the belly dancers.

Excellent value for money hotel.

Good mix of guests too!

The only disappointment was the beach--not much sand and rather overcrowded

Fantastic, relaxing holiday

Reviewers - Archie and Catherine (Celtic & Girl)
We have just returned from our holiday and had to write to say what a great time we had. This was our first visit to Turkey and although we knew people who had been to Icemeler before, we were unsure of what we would find. We arrived at 6 in the morning and were greeted by a smiling Shamus who happily took our luggage to our room. It was a modern, clean, comfortable and most importantly cool room, much appreciated after our long journey. We had lovely views of the mountains and a sunny balcony, perfect. The room also had a plasma tv, DVD player and mini bar as promised. There was a problem with our safe - the key was missing - but the lovely Carla in reception sorted that out first thing in the morning. She was pleasant and efficient and throughout our stay was a pleasure to talk to. The pool area was comfortable and clean. Some of the umbrellas had been damaged by the wind but management were aware of this and were getting them repaired. Despite this there were always plenty of umbrellas to use each day and beds were always available. Everyone was happy to chat to each other around the pool and we quickly made friends. The staff - Freddy, Ice, Omar, Mamolie, Erjan and the twins, worked very hard. They were always cleaning, collecting glasses and attending to the guests. They were always happy to chat to us all , lead the dancing and make us laugh. We had a happy ,relaxed time because of them. They made the holiday special and are definately a valuable asset to the hotel. The owner's son was also often around the hotel and was always eager to make sure we were having a good holiday. He listened to any issues raised by guests and dealt with them quickly. The food was fine, there was always plenty to choose from although the Bistro meal was not exactly the better quality meal we were expecting. The rule about not bringing water or juice into the hotel was annoying as sometimes we fancied something different to what was available in the mini bar. Also if we bought a large bottle during the day and hadn't finished it, we had to leave it outside. Maybe they could relax this rule a little. All in all we would definately go back as we felt so welcome and had such a relaxing and fun time while we were there.

outstanding hotel

by TripAdvisor Member T0m_Paris

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel from the 10th-24th and we thought it was excellent! we enjoyed every minute and had no problems at all.

The room was lovely, enough space for the two of us and all of our belongings. the maids kept it absolutely spotless and even made love hearts from towels and placed them on our bed which we thought was a nice touch. our room included air-con unit which was easy to use, flat screen which worked fine, fride and mini bar.

we had breakfast and dinner in the hotel every day but ate out at lunch times. we thought the food was great, a good selection of foods. but if you eat there for 14 nights it does get a bit repetative, so it was nice to have 2 free tickets for the a'la carte restaurant next door which was slightly different.

The pool area was beautiful. there was plently of sunbeds but not over crowded. there was a bit of confusion with the all-incvlusive lot from over the road using our pool facilities but this was cleared up by management when we asked why it was happening. If you like the beach then this is lovely too, but it is not sand but shingle.

The staff made our holiday! They were great fun and we all had a laugh. they all speak good english which was helpful and if you needed anything all you had to do was ask. so thank you Ice (massa), Ferdi (Hamilton), Omar, Erjan, Memoli and Shamus (sshhh) for makeing our holiday one to remeber and hopefully we shall see you all again soon as we will be returning next year!

Great Location, Fabulous pool

by TripAdvisor Member Honestly1

Threeof us stayed in a standard room which overlooked the pool of another hotel, which we didn't mind because it was quite entertaining!! The rooms were quite spacious which had in it a double bed and a single bed. The bathroom was standard with a shower (not a bath), the only downside being that there didn;t really seem to be any forced ventilation which meant it got quite stuffy. Also there was some mould around the base of the shower, probably due to the lack of ventilation. We didn't expect this since the hotel was newly opened as of May 2008.

We stayed half board. Breakfast and dinner were both reasonable but got very repetitive with limited selection of dishes (especially dinner). There were also loads of wasps flying around the food all the time which was quite off-putting. There was a chance to visit the a la carte restaurant located just outside the front of the hotel once a week. The food here was nice and drinks were some of the cheapest around, the staff were also very friendly and welcoming.

The hotel was round the corner from the main street that had on it lots of shops (minimarkets) bars and restaurants so eating out wasn't a problem, the variety of food was fantastic and the food it self was very fresh, prices were very reasonable too. The hotel didn't allow food or drink to be brought in from outside the hotel but considering the prices and lack of variety, just sneak it in in a bag!!!

Hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming and sorted out any problems. The only problem we had was the standard of the house keeping. Rooms were only cleaned properly once a week and this is when the towels were changed. We had to request for more towels seperately.

The walls were also very thin so any noise in the corridors was heard quite vivdly. We stayed on the top floor so it wasn't too bad.

Being in the centre of Icemeler, it was quite loud up until midnight which was the cut-off point for loud music in all bars and restaurants.

The hotel was only a 5minute walk down the road from the beach so easily accessed. The pool area in the hotel was beautiful and very clean. Being an adults only hotel, it was also very tranquil with pleanty of sun loungers.

The night life in Icemeler after midnight is very low key with only two night clubs, so most people went into marmaris which was only 10minutes away on the bus and about 20mins away on the taxi boat.

There were plenty of excursions to chose from which were all reasonably priced (we booked from an agent on the beach instead of the tour operated which saved us a packet)!!

In general, Icemeler is a very friendly, clean and chilled-out resort ideal for those who want an all round holiday and i would definitely go back one day!!

Much better than expected

by TripAdvisor Member nannygoatHatfield

We were very wary of going to this hotel having read reviews on here. We tried to change hotels and were unable to so went with an open mind. So glad we did because we had a great time. The receptionist on arrival was rude and the standard room tiny with no storage. But a complaint got us moved to a suite(we did pay extra,) but well worth it. And receptionist given the elbow after a complaint to the manager. After that it was plain sailing and one of the best holidays we have had. Harika and Carly on reception were always helpful and any complaint swiftly dealt with.Sun bed hogging was hilarious but there are ways round it and as for taking no water and food in, it became a great game to see if we could ha ha.The food was varied and delicious, of course it isn"t like British food but if you want that stay here!!!!!!!!Donna the first choice rep was also helpful and most of all weather was hot and hotel clean and nice. So if you are going don"t worry, it isn't luxury redefined, as their slogan says, but it is a very nice hotel in a fantastic location, in a beautiful part of turkey. Enjoy.

Best Holiday Ever

by TripAdvisor Member TheTruthHull

My wife and I stayed at this Hotel from July 21st to August 4th, having read the reviews on here up to us going and it being my first visit to Turkey I was very apprehensive and wondered what we were letting ourselves in for? I need not have worried!

We were met off our transfer bus by Omar one of the staff from the hotels bar/restaurant "Bistro Med" who gladly carried our cases to our room, the room was spacious and clean with lots of wardrobe space and efficient air conditioning which was a godsend. I later found out that our room was in the older part of the hotel and not the brand new part, this wasn't a problem for us as it had everything the brochure said it would. So if you want to stay in the newest rooms specify this with your booking agents beforehand don't moan about it afterwards!

Having booked half board I was expecting to eat out on a number of occasions as I have in the past found food in hotels repetative after a few days, that wasn't the case here, of course there are only so many types of meat and vegatables but the kitchen staff cooked them all in so many different ways it was superb and always lots of it too, the waiters/waitresses and bar staff headed by Ice and Freddy were some of the friendliest and most efficient people I have ever met. Some reviews have mentioned the price of the drinks in the hotel and policy of not being allowed to take your own drinks in, what's the problem, isn't this the same in all hotels worldwide? It is in my experience, if you want to drink and eat cheap go self catering!

The pool area is gorgeous and very clean with plenty of good quality sumbeds with comfy mattresses, there is also 7 big round sunbeds around the edge of the pool but get up early if you want one, they're the best.

I've got 2 complaints.....the first is with First Choice not the hotel management, one of the reasons I booked this hotel is because in the First Choice brochure it is advertised as "Adults Only", after been there a few days a family of six checked in, two of them were obviously under 16, I wasn't bothered at first until, kids being kids, the fun started in the pool, water everywhere and the peace disturbed! I complained to the management who told me they had already taken the matter up with First Choice who's responsibility it is to check the ages of guests at booking time, this was overlooked by First Choice I was told, I was also told later on by the First Choice Manager in the area that the "Adults" icon in the brochures doesn't mean "Adults Only" it means "Best for Adults"?? Doh! Isn't that the same thing? Anyway a compromise was agreed and the under 16's used the pool next door in the sister hotel, Peace and tranquility restored, well done the Management. My second gripe is there is no air conditioning in the gym, too hot for a workout! "Your on holiday, why do you want to use the gym" I hear you say, well with all that great food on offer I put on nearly 6kg over the fortnight!

After a fantastic fortnight it was time to pack up and leave sadly, on our last night we got back to our room to find an expensive bottle of red wine and 2 glasses with a note from the Manager thanking us for our custom and wishing us well in the future, lovely. How many of you can say that that happens at any other hotel you've stayed at? Not many I bet.

If you've read all the reviews you'll notice they get better as they get newer, I'm positive the earlier ones were experiencing teething troubles as the hotel and staff are new, now everything has settled down it is in my opinion a fantastic place to spend an annual holiday, We also got out and about in Icmeler, visiting all the bars and found everyone very friendly, they do try to get you into their bars etc as they are trying to make a living but you only have to politely say no and they leave you alone. Tukey? I love it!

Thanks to Riza the Manager, Carly and the other girl (sorry I've forgotten your name) on reception who did everything in their power to sort out any issues. Thanks to Ice, Freddy, Erjan, Memoli, Cello, Hamed, Dicle and Dilec who all tirelessly served, waited and cleaned the hotel bar/restaurant and pool area as well as talking to and sharing jokes with all the guests to make us feel welcome, and to Bobby and Mahaar (omelette girl) and all the other kitchen staff for the fab food, and to Omar, Emrah and Husta the staff in the "Bistro Med" for the best holiday I've ever had.

Readers give it a go you'll love it too!

A traquil and relaxing holiday

by TripAdvisor Member mseabo

We have just returned from the Bellavista Suites and I must say after seeing a lot of negative reviews about the hotel dont be misled this is a wonderful hotel..

We stayed in a Standard Select Room (Deluxe) room number 3202 in the Older of the 2 blocks which I must say was lovely. We had Flat Screen TV, Mini Bar, Air Con, King Size Bed, Power Shower , Bathrobes & Slippers and plenty of wardrobe space. The rooms are nicely decorated and are cleaned regularly with towels changed daily. Our room overlooked the pool area.

The food at the hotel was acceptable although more fresh fruit at breakfast along with more choice for the British Clientel wouldv'e been nicer along with the milk & other dairy products being in a cooler rather than in a bowl where flies & wasps could get into.

Also at dinner it would've been better to have the food covered over from the sun and again as reiterated above. The food can become repetitive after 14 days so we ate out a few nights - restaurants to recommend in Icmeler are - Florida, Love Boat, Angels (old village), Linekars Bar in the day at the beach, Harrys.

Hotel staff were friendly and very helpful especially Carly on reception who was always cheerful and loved having a chat. If any problems arose she would deal with them efficiently and effectively - thank you Carly as I know you read these reviews!!!

Restrictions for bringing food and drink into the hotel were a bit annoying as the water (large bottle) was charged 3.50 lire more that the supermarket - perhaps a suggestion to reduce prices and people would be more inclined to buy from the hotel than the supermarket!

Nightlife in Icmeler is plentiful and with the hotel just being on the doorstep to this within easy access if you want it but also quiet if you dont.

All in all a very memorable and relaxing holiday looking forward to go again either later this year or next year.
