Arriving at the moonlight is just like comming home, you are always greeted with a warm welcome by the staff on duty no matter what time of day or night you arrive.Nev. and her staff Bobby,Harkan and Charlie go out of there way to make sure you have everything you need they cant do enough for you.The rooms are very clean and have air con.in the bedrooms this is included so no extra charge The ever smilling Millie and the other lady sorry cant remember her name make sure they stay clean and have fresh linnen and towels throughout your stay and decorate the beds in the most beautifull way thank you ladies. The pools are very clean and well kept as are the grounds there is a lovely man who takes care of all this and always has a smile and a hello for everyone. The staff are great with the kids and adults alike and join in with what ever is going on Turkish nights, playing with the kids or just stopping for a chat at your table. Thanks again everyone we cant what to get back and see you all again at our little home from home x

Unique Quality: The apartments are in a nice quiet area but only about 10min walk from the main town, there are lots of little supermarkets nearby and some lovely bars and restaurants in the area to.The apartments have to pools one smaller ideal for younger kids the larger pool has a water slide which kids and adults alike have great fun on there is also a play area with swings ect. there is a nice shaded area with pooltables, table tennis, darts, you can hire bikes. And a great bonus is the laundry so no need to worry about running out of clean cloths.there is a lovely bar area in front of the pools just to sit and relax with a cold drink or have breakfast or lunch they serve dinner here at night also where it is all lite up and looking great. There is not a thing i can say that will sound as good as when you see it for yourself a little heaven

scottish notes

by Azzagazza

Hi, does anyone know if scottish notes are accepted in Icmeler?

Re: scottish notes

by leics

Accepted where? In banks/exchange bureau? Maybe, but bringing 'ordinary' GBP would be much less risky.

Anywhere else? Very doubtful..and expect a poor exchange rate if you do.

Get some Turkish lira before you leave the UK, get more when you are there using ATM card (or travellers' cheques), take non-Scots GBP if you want to exchange them to be on the safe side.

Yes, I know it's legal tender etc etc. But.....

Re: scottish notes

by Azzagazza

Thank you, really just to pay for our transfers etc as it has to be paid in GBP. We shall change some of our weird Scottish money before we leave!!!

Re: scottish notes

by leics

Yes, by far the best thing.

Weird Scots notes don't always get accepted in snotty England, let alone in forign parts! :-)

Re: scottish notes

by leics

To be fair, I do know they often aren't accepted in England because the security note-scanning thingies can't cope with them. So I suppose it's not always just ignorance..........

Re: scottish notes

Wales has the same take on Scottish notes. Was held up at supermarket checkout whilst note was held up to the light, and supervisor called about this weird peice of currency. It made a great little tidbit for onlooking shoppers. Probably the topic of conversation in pubs that evening!!
Sorry Wales, but it is irksome!

Re: scottish notes

by leics

Oh.

We are wrong.

They are not legal tender at all.

(scroll down).

It's entirely up to the English/Welsh shop/company/whatever whether they accept the note or not.

Re: scottish notes

by oxymoron

I know that already. Looked it up after visiting Wales, but..
it's so crass.
It's the attitude towards our curency that bugs me.
Are Euros 'weird'? Would appear tthat these are a more acceptable form of currency.
I have exchanged those 'weird' notes in a Barcelona bank without question???

Re: scottish notes

by leics

Not really.

Euros are only accepted by shops/companies which choose to do so, and you will not find many of those outside really touristy parts of the UK.

Scots notes are accepted or not in the same way. The security issue really is relevant.

The Bank of Scotland is not the Bank of England after all, and the countries are (in this respect at least) separate.

Re: scottish notes

by oxymoron

Spain is a separate country from Scotland!!
It's my experience that when in Catalunya, not only are the bank notes accepted, but locals are pretty much aware of Scotland and its place within Europe.
Could say much more about this affinity between the aforementioned two countries, but suffice to say that we Scots are apportioned more cred in other parts of europe.

Re: scottish notes

That's interesting.

Sorry was just a simple question, it's no problem to change some notes into English ones!!! What a debate!!! No drama x

Travel Tips for Icmeler

best english breakfast in icmeler!!!!

by walterstribe about amalia restaurant and fun pub

if you want a treat day or night visit Amalias restaurant and fun pub next to the Alinda hotel and opposite the blue rainbow hotel. The staff here are so friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. During the day and evening the food served is first class, the best we had during our holiday, and at about 10pm the fun begins with disco, staff shows and entertainers like break dancers and the Micheal Jackson show. The best night we had was turkish night, the food and the atmosphere was fantastic. We will definatly be back to sample the delights again! the buffet on Turkish night especially the cheese rolls

Jeep Safari To Oranihiye

by redrhino12

How many of you when going on the jeep safari have had the chance to call at Oranhiye and had the chance of "Walking On Water"

Oranhiye is a little village with sunbeds, a couple of restaurents and a camel you can ride, but is better known for a 150 mtr stretch of sandbank that sweeps out into the bay.

Legend goes that when pirates attacked this village, one particular maiden filled the front of her dress with sand and sprinkled it into the sea trying to make a path for her escape.
Unfortunately her sand ran out, sooner than face the raping and pillaging pirates she threw hereselfe off the sandbar and was drowned.

Another story is that if any maiden walks to the end of the sandbank and returns she will go home a virgin.
