This is a lovely looking hotel and with a 5 star rating its the perfect place to go for a luxury break. Set at the far end of Icmeler beach its got beautiful landscape gardens all around it

Clean adequate rooms with daily maid service and change of towels. Twin beds in our room with shower over bath. Lift. and 2 Impressive pools with plenty of sunbeds and brollies etc. Bar and snack bar at top pool and facilities for children with entertainment and games etc.

Probably the location and well kept garden.
Breakfast quite good also. The hotel is now becoming fully inclusive so unsure how things will change. Entertainment seemed to be mostly singer and organ while you dine. Good location and looks a nice place to stay with two swimming pools, a couple of shops and childrens area.
Linen changed daily but the balconies were so tiny, and ours overlooked the restaurant and top pool, where bathers could look right into our rooms without the curtain pulled all the time. We were bed and breakfast but the hotel is going All Inclusive now so will go somewhere else next year as like to try different restaurants and get to know the locals.

The Alvaro apartments are comfortable,friendly,have a very sociable staff who like to encourage you if you want to try learning some Turkish. The pool area is large enough with the usual bar area,the rooms are spacious and well equipped.
We had no problems here,and I doubt if anyone would leave here disatisfied with any of the arrangements. One thing it does'nt have is an internal lounge area,but who wants to sit inside when you're in Icmeler ?
IF any problems did arise,I have no doubt that Leon would have any fault fixed in minutes.
Most of the Alvaro's attractions have been covered above,the food is good..but while we have no hesitation about taking meals there,we do tend to stick with an earlier gem that we found for meals..The Summer Garden Restaurant...but I assure you,this in no way reflects badly on the Alvaro's kitchens. Advertised as a 4* not even a 2* food awful poor hygiene.pool was discusting with electric light floating in pool.Lifts constantly broke down between floors.I found local 8yr old girl going through my room unacompanied...explanation,maids daughter!! bar close at 11pm,expect sore lips from plastic beakers to serve drinks in.Asked to be moved..Goldtrail will not move you,but will take £250 each to upgrade to 5*.6 days into a 14 day holiday I became ill.On return home I went to doctor,I was so ill she contacted environmental health as I brought back the names and addresses of 20 others who were ill too. This hotel was in the best location. .....ever.
Everything you could want was within walking distance. To get to the beach, you simply walk out of the back of the hotel. To get to Icmeler centre you wallk out of the front of the hotel.
The view from our room was fantastic. We could see the swimming pool, the sea and the mountains.
Our room was spacious and comfortable with plenty of storage space which were kept clean, as was the hotel.
The food in the restaurant was good with a lot of choice. I would recomend the freshly cooked omelettes for breakfast.
The pool area was great however, there is not a really shallow part of the pool so if you are under 5 foot tall, there is no way you would be able to put your feet on the floor. However, ther is a baby pool for the very small.
I would recommend that everyone tries the a la carte restaurant during their stay as it is so cool and calming.
It is free of charge if you have already paid for an evening meal. There is not a massive choice but whatever you choose will be beautifully served and presented. Leave a Comment

The Hotel Bonjour is not listed with any tour operators and relies on word of mouth. It was our first visit to the hotel and we found it to be excellent. The rooms were adequately sized and immaculately clean. The maids were always friendly and kept the hotel spotless. The staff at the hotel were friendly and would go out of their way to help. The food was also excellent. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and in most hotels in Turkey the breakfast consists of a typical Turkish breakfast. At the Bonjour you also had the option of a full English breakfast at no extra cost which was lovely. The pool and bar area were also fabulous. The pool had a shallow end which was useful for small children. There was also a jacuzzi at the side of the pool which was good for relaxing in. We also had our transfers to and from the sirport arranged by the hotel. This was excellent as you were picked up in an air conditioned mini bus and were taken straight to and from your hotel which saved you dropping off people at different hotels. Hasan, the manager, made you feel very welcome and always addressed you by name to give that personal touch.

This is a tourist village, the local village is slightly too far away to be reached easily, therefore you are at their mercy.
The locals and staff view you as cash cows to be milked, prices are inflated by 300% making it much more expensive than back home. They feel "The Great Satan" in the west owes them a good living. (Yes this phrase was used!)
You, the tourist, are bombarded with anti-west/christian propaganda, sexual harassment if you happen to be a young or attractive female and a total absence of customer services.
A girl in my party felt unable to return to the pool for the majority of her stay after having the waiters throw water on her and attempt to pull her towel from her whilst she was sunbathing with her bikini top open at the back.
All in all a horrible trip and I am using my democratic right to complain here as none of my complaints were treated with respect while over there.
Avoid, avoid, avoid.
Bargain on paper, nightmare in reality.
