My husband and I are going to Marmaris next month for two weeks, we have been there many times and have made friends there. We would like to buy property in Turkey and have heard it is very cheap in Altinkum so we would like to go and have a look while on holiday and we want to know if it is possible to get a bus. As we are going end of September, the hovercraft won't be running to Bodrum so we can't take that route. Please can anyone help.

Don't know about Altinkum but in Marmaris the local residents are understandably a bit miffed that they are being priced out of the market by Brits buying property and pushing up the prices. A 2-bedroomed appartment with communal pool can cost between £60K to £90K and this is expected to double if and when Turkey joins the EU.
Hi,yes you can get a coach there.Go to Tansas supermarket, the offices are situated on the right-hand side of the building.Ask for quotes from a few different companies as prices vary. Ps. I dont agree with the reply from Mac,the economy is booming in Turkey from holidaymakers buying property and the Turks LOVE to work for the English because they know they will receive a decent wage!
they say being No 1 Marmaris Disco for the past 6 years...yes maybe...if you like techno or trance kind of music, semi-naked striptease-dancers-like-looking russian (or from ex soviet union countries) girls:)) you can wear whatever you want, and even if you are not waring anything...you can do it!

It was just a small touristic town before, but now getting to be a fascinating holiday paradise...

When you check guidebooks, you can learn a lot about Marmaris. But what I can say about Marmaris is that, it is the town where I decided to buy a new and well-developed Camera. Such a beautiful bay, sail ships, narrow streets and a wonderful marina. Very nice bays surronding this touristic town.. and much more to see. But not easy to be described, could only be explained by the help of some nice pictures.
Just stand in front of the Marina and look to the entrance of the bay.. You will not forget that view.. So picturesque, so nice...
