We have been coming to Marmaris for many years and stayed at the Anemon for the first time in June 1999 for our honeymoon. The experience was fantastic. The manager there, Ali, is a fantastic guy, going out of his way to make you feel valued as a customer, yet at the same time, makes you feel like a friend. Although returning to the hotel the following year, we then stayed elsewhere for a while only because we decided to try self catering and therefore found apartments. Yet, Ali remembered us and we would often see him on his moped travelling around Marmaris and he would always pull over and talk to us. We recommended the hotel to some dear friends, and emailed Ali to tell him they were coming over. He went out of his way, again, to help them have a fantastic holiday and they will never stay anywhere else again.
This year we returned and stayed in one of the suites, which was fantastic. Again, the staff made the holiday. Bearing in mind this is a big hotel, not just for holidaymakers but for Turkish nationals on business etc, they still cater for the tourist and ensure they have a wonderful time.
Unique Quality: One side of the hotel looks over our favourite view - the Al Fresco restaurant, which is fantastic! The rooms, particularly the suites, are quite spacious. The maid service is fantastic, with the usual 'Turkish' maid experience of the bed sheets and towels being laid out in different shapes on the bed. but, this time there were fresh flower petals scattered over the sheets and floors too. Beautiful!
The breakfast is fantastic - fills you up for the day and so much choice! We stayed half board this year - it's ok, but probably won't do it again as you miss out on the fantastic meals offered throughout Marmaris. But, it was good quality and you would never go hungry.
The pool is good, the games rooms brill, the staff great. And, the red wine in the hotel is lovely...
Directions: OPposite Al Fresco and Vogue jewellers, on the main road just up from beach front
