More about Asena Beach

Asena Beach Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member rossendalelass

Just got back from 1 week at Asena Beach Hotel (25th May). I would say this is a 3* hotel - just. The rooms are very basic and a little
bit tatty but clean enough. The breakfast was average but the staff were great. Only had one meal by the pool and was not impressed. The situation is good but try and get a room near to the hotel reception
otherwise the noise from the bars is very annoying when you are trying to sleep in the wee small hours. Olu Deniz was reasonably
quiet as it was just before the school holidays and bank holiday weekend but it is a very small resort and I think we went at the right time. The weather was just getting good (after the mini hurricane) and will probably be great for the rest of the summer. There are some great "genuine fakes" to be had, especially designer handbags!! On the whole a good holiday but 1 week was enough. TIP: Leave your balconey door open through the day time as the room gets very hot and the A/C isn't that effective.

Would Recommend The Asena Beach

by TripAdvisor Member curiousinleeds

We have just returned from a week's stay at the Asena. Overall we were very happy with the hotel. It was right on the main strip and only a few minutes walk to the beach. Great pool, good well kept rooms, very helpful receptionists and all the waiters/bar staff were great. We ate at the fish restaurant several times as it was so good. If we return to Olu Deniz we will definitely choose the Asena Beach.

Fabulous Time at Asena Beach

by TripAdvisor Member MrToms

We went to Olu Deniz for a week in 2005 and stayed at a smaller hotel than the Asena Beach, but we loved Olu Deniz and felt that we had so much more to see and do, so we re-booked to return in 2006 and stayed for 2 weeks. We had deliberatly gone round the town before leaving in 2005 and chose the Asena Beach because of location and we had eaten in the restaurant there, so we were very happy with the choice before we arrived. When we came back in 2006 the hotel lived up to its memory and we had a super time.

The staff were brilliant and there was a wedding of one of the staff to an english girl while we were there. A couple of days before the Saturday, at breakfast, the staff came round to all the tables and handed everyone a written invitation to the evening celebrations - it was absolutely fantastic. This is one of the many memories my husband and I will take away with us from the Asena Beach.

There are so many activities to do either in or from Olu Deniz that you are spoilt for choice. I read another of the reviews and their tip was take lots of money because there is lots to spend it on, well they are right, the choice of goods, trips and restaurants are incredible.

The Blue Lagoon is amazing, be careful if you have children because the beach shelves really deep very quickly - this is on the "front" side - we saw lots of families on the lagoon side so presumably the beach and water is safer there for the children. You can get pedaloes etc at the Blue Lagoon on this side. Just before you go into the Lagoon before paying you will come across a man renting flippers and goggles for about £2 a day - they are very clean and he disinfects them when you take them back - but he will disinfect them again in front of you if you ask him to before renting them...

For Restaurants, although we were half board and the food was very good and varied at the Asena Beach we always go out of the hotel and try other places. We went to the White Dolphin on the cliff top overlooking the beach for our wedding anniversary. Great Food but extremely expensive (£130 for the 2 of us...no wine...just 1 beer each... phew). It was really romantic but .....next night we went to the 'Help Bar' (£10 for the 2 of us with beers and bellies full at the end of it....) guess where we went next night....

I would recommend a stay at the Hotel Asena Beach for its cleanliness, friendliness, location and facilities... Olu Deniz spoils you for a lot of other resorts and you would probably return.

Service and Staff Brill

by TripAdvisor Member Angelmac8

Me and my friend went to stay at Asena Beach hotel for a week, having not been to Turkey before I was a little concerned about the male attention, being annoying. But I was really pleased that we chose a quieter resort like Olu Deniz and a quieter time of year as it was PERFECT.
The hotel, the weather and all the staff at Asena beach are brilliant, we went H/B and ate in the restaurant most nights, where the service and setting is lovely.
Also would highly recommend Captain Hooks FANTASTIC food and service, by far the best meal I had all week!!
I would say to any women travelling alone to be sensible I did get the impression that most English girls alone are considered for the taking ...
I have been back from my holiday now for 2 weeks and when I left I didn't think I would go back as I like to travel to different countries, but I have completely changed my mind and would book for next year like a shot ASENA BEACH HOTEL was FAB!!

I am travel agent in the UK & I stayed at Asena Beach in 2006. What can I say, It was the best holiday I have ever been on! I never go to the same place twice but I cant keep myself away from Asena. I am hoping to go back this June (2007).
The staff are fab! they cant do enough for you, they are there to make sure you have a fantastic holiday. They are all great fun & make you want to return again & again. the location is excellent, the hotel is right on the main street down to the resorts famous beach.
FANTASTIC HOLIDAY, FANTASTIC PEOPLE!
All I can say is BOOK IT!!!!

Fantastic holiday

by TripAdvisor Member JulietteSouthport

Having never been to Turkey before we were not disappointed with our weeks holiday at the Asena Beach in Olu Deniz. The hotel complex was ideally located, just off the main street and 5 minutes walk from the shingle beach where you can sit and watch the parasenders coming into land. The sandy beach (the one you see in the pictures) is a longer walk (approx 15 mins, 20 on a hot day!) and you have to pay a small fee to enter, but it is a nicer beach.

We went at the end of the holiday season so it was much quieter, but still a good atmosphere. The weather was still nice during the day, but was definitely cooler at night and I would advise you take a couple of jumpers if going at this time of year.

The hotel room was quite small and fairly basic, but was clean and for the amount of time you spend in it was fine for our purposes. The gardens are nicely kept and the pool area is fantastic (definitely the resorts biggest selling point), although at this time of year it was a bit cold until around about lunchtime. There is a pool bar which serves drinks and snacks and is good value for money. The hotel did do a good deal on half board and other guests said that the food was excellent, but was buffet style, so we opted to eat out.

Turkey was much more expensive than we had been led to believe and eating out was a bit of a shock - prices were similar to those back in the UK, however, the fish dishes were to die for and there is a beautiful traditional Turkish restaurant (can't remember the name of it, but it is on the right hand side of the main street, quite close to the beach end).

We were only here for a week and just relaxed round the pool, but if you were here for longer or wanted to explore then this is the ideal place to base yourself as there are loads of activities and tours right on your doorstep.

The people are generally very friendly and welcoming, just be careful that they don't become overfriendly and sometimes the people trying to entice you into restaurants can become quite annoying, with the pretend cockney accents and 'Del-Boy' learnt English, however, a polite no normally sees to do the trick.

Olu Deniz is quickly becoming more developed, hopefully it will not loose any more of its charm and appeal as this happens. Up until then, I would strongly recommend this as a holiday destination and would stay at the Hotel Asena Beach again.

Hospitable, but noisy.

by TripAdvisor Member Paulipod

Very pretty individual blocks of rooms set in lovely grounds.
Clean pool and spotless room. We went F/B for 2 weeks and thought they did very well to provide us with a slightly different buffet every night. On the downside, the noise at night from the Terrace Bar was unbearable at times after 1.00am. Twice we complained as music was still playing at 4.30am!! Constant loud music by pool too. Would have just liked it tweaked down a few notches. Would recommend taking either ear plugs or asking for Block 8/9 for a quieter stay! The Turkish are genuinely very friendly and fully embrace you into their county. Overall, good value for money for a 3* hotel - exceeded expectations.

Fantastic! Book it!

by TripAdvisor Member Katfishh

Without a doubt the fantastic staff reallymade this holiday. They made you feel as if you were a guest in somebodys home - not a hotel. Here a summary of holiday taken in July 2006
Weather : Fantastic every day. slghter cooler due to mountains and what a relief! We were melting when we visited Fetiye!
Food: On my God. the food is amazing! A choice of about 35 dishes for breakfast; Fresh fruit;melon, watermelon, cherries, oranges, apricots, eggs: boiled, omelette/fried with bacon, cereal, yogurts (home made!) , cheese, jams, selection of rolls. and so on. Go half board. The food id so good it will be hard to tear yourself away from the retaurant. The food in the EnchantedGarden is fantastic, and they have rabbits there for the children. Although I never saw them apparently they have tortoises wandering around the resort, as well as tame rabbits. Its close to stables for horse riding, and a short walk into Hisaronu. The entertainment is the best I've ever seen at a hotel (and I've stayed in some great 5 star hotels worldwide), especially the Turkish nigh and Male belly dancer (Wow!). Dont hesitate. Turkey is amazing, The people warm and lovely. Go - you will definetely return - we are - this year! I cant believe it did - but I actaully cried when I had to come home. Never done that before!
