"My Views on Marmaris"

We (15 of us) arrived early on a Saturday morning to a hotel we could only describe as "adequate", the rooms were cleanish!!!! (loos and shower rooms left a lot to be desired), Linen was changed 3 times per week, but maid service was daily!

When venturing out, we found the place to be buzzing with enthusiastic salemen pouncing on us to sell trips etc! Restaurant owners pestering us to go in to their places, not all that bad, as we found we could barter for a good deal on food and drinks for our largeish group.

In some of the eateries, we were over charged by waiters who must have thought we were too drunk to notice the inflated bill. (which we weren't)

Before I went to Turkey, I posted a question on here with regards to being ripped off by money exchange booths, I was assured that this would not happen.... Guess what? It happened at least 4 time to me and about the same to my girlfriend, where they tried to give you about £10.00 less in the currency, or tried to give us small denomination coins instead of proper notes IE .50 coin instaed of a 5 YTL note. For this reason I would advise everyone to check closely what they are given, signs outside clearly state no commission, however they are obviously trying to make some money by short changing the tourists!! BEWARE!!!!

We had a fantastic cruise on board a boat named Atlantis, thanks to Oscar, Vasim and Ali for their hospitality.

We also hired 2 speed boats and spent an hour blasting up and down the stunning Marmaris coastline.

All this said, we had a good time, enjoying the 40+ oC temperatures, the great food, and lovely cocktails. (not sure if I will go back though)

Oh and just as a last thing, It would seem the president of Turkey has banned the use of Jetskis in all resorts, so if you fancied doing this in Turkey, forget it!
