If you are not a capricious child of Arab Sheih and just a nice person who wants to have fun this is for you.
The place with its little BUT's and little problems, not that siginificant ones....Anyways, we didn't mind them :)))))))))))
The most important, mind you that only breakfast and supper are inclusive + drinks at supper are NOT inclusive.
And the other thing, once we had to complain to the reception as the maid hadn't clean our room. So, pay attention to that:))))))
And in over all, have fun:)))))))))))

We stayed there for 3 nights in Sep. 2004.
We transferred for Marti where we stayed for 4 unbearable nights. (see our review on Marti).
This place was amazing. We staying at a bungalow which was really clean and had a great view. The room was spacy, with lots of light, tile floor. The bathroom was impeccably clean and so were the curtains, the bed spreads, etc.
The food was amazing. Really delicate food,
clean and taste, with no sign of flies anywhere (as compared to Marti).
the pool was clean and deep and you could swim nicely. The sea was amazing. No sign of yachts or boats next to you, clean sea, you could see the fish. Totally separated from the rest of Marmaris, with only one hotel next to Mares, but still in a distance. You felt as if you
are in paradise. The beach belonging to Mares was big. There was a walking path that you could take to go to Marmaris or Icmeler.
The hotel facilities were amazing and the staff was helpful and courteous.
We heard that there is a part of the hotel with old rooms, not as good as the bungalows rooms, but this part is being closed this winter for full renovation.

From the accommodation point of view, there are plenty of possibilities in Marmaris from cheap to more expensive hotel, but all very convenient.
We have chosen a hotel located at 10min walking from the beach managed by a family of Turkish entrepreneurs that lived for a long time in Sweden and everything was just perfect.
They even waited for us late in the night when we arrived to Marmaris and offered us drinks for free.
The apartment, with a bedroom and a living with a kitchen corner, was only USD 18-.
There was no air conditioning but we really didn't feel the need.
In any case, even if you don't have a reservation and arrive to Marmaris, it's easy to find a good place to stay, as Marmaris offers abundant accommodation ranging from small pensions (guest houses) to luxurious 5 star hotels. This is the first hotel in Marmaris that we stayed in on our first trip to Turkey 10 years ago and also the best, not because its a luxury hotel coz its not, the main reason this hotel bring back great memories is because of the staff. They would do enything to make your stay a happy one and we made some great friends in such a limited time. I will add that this was 10 years ago and no doubt things have changed since then. I just wonder what its like now.

We are staying at MARES for 3 years already. This is a wonderful place to have lazy holidays, meet old/new friends, enjoy wonderful sea, mountains and warm summer.

I spent some nights there. It cost 12 Lıra wıth Isıc card, but they don't really ask to see ıt. They are very friendly, for example İ like covering at night but there wasn't any, so the attendant gave me a blanket. They created a female only dorm because İ asked for it--except something went wrong and İ woke up next to some hairy legs that did not belong to a woman. İ had some problems meeting up with a friend in Marmaris and they were very helpful directing that person towards me even when İ didn't stay there yet--not even at her expensive hotel people had forwarded my messages to her so İ find this noteworthy.
I dıdn't book ın advance, and there was space.
They have a nice roof terrace with ocean or mountain view where you can get fresh OJ for 1 Lira and breakfast for 4, and they don't mind if you bring your own, even give you plates and cutlery and the guy at the bar insisted to cut my own tomatoes for me.
The rooms have only beds--mine had 4-- and 5 hooks--the lockers ( free) are small and only good for valuables, cameras etc. You can deposit your bag at the balcony behind the reception. Anything that can melt will do so becaue it will be in the sun. There are 3 floors of dorms and rooms and bathrooms. Hot water, clean. Doubles cost 30 Lira and they don't let them as --singles. The rooms are above the roof of the bazaar--a bıt sticky but not noisy.
I washed my handwashables to have them in the mornıng-- luckily I had a place by the window--otherwise there wouldn't be any place in the room to dry ıt. There wasn't any plug ın the room and ıt's hard to pack when the party animals are all still sleepıng around you ın the morning. Maybe not the best hotel,But the view from the rooms is fantastic.The location is ideal it is just in the middle of Marmaris and Icemeler.All the boats that are going to Marmaris center or Icemeler are stopping in front of the hotel.
