More about Blue Bay's Hotel - Marmaris
Blue Bays too noisy
Turkey Blue Bays Hotel, Marmaris. Too noisy
I have just returned from Turkey after spending 2 weeks in the Blue Bays Hotel. The hotel was lovely, very clean. Towels changed every day and beds changed regular. All the public areas [ pool, gardens etc] were cleaned every day. The only problem I had was the noise. I had a room with a pool view so it was noisy all day but as I was out most of the day that didn't bother me too much. It was the entertainment at night that was very loud although it finished at 12pm. I would say it is not a hotel for older people. There was plenty choice for breakfast but it was never very hot.
Boat trip around the nice blue bays with barbecue
Enjoy the sun with the sea-breeze while resting on the deck.
If it get's too hot, the boat stops to take a dive into the deep blue sea.
Nice panoramic views from the boat
And...a nice barbecue!! price €20-€30

Great place! Want to go back!!!
I went with my best mate from 13th to 20th May and enjoyed every second.
When we first arrived we were brought in through the Blue Bays Deluxe which looks awesome...only to realise we were staying at their partner hotel, The Blue Bays Apartments.
We realised afterwards that we were better off..since we were young girls, there was a more lively vibe at The Blue Bays Hotel. All the staff are friendly, our rooms were cleaned every day and the view from our room was great!!
If anyone meets Emin from the bar inside the hotel, they will realise he is the maddest person in this world. He's so funny so if you're going there, make sure you have a few rounds as he made us laugh so much (even though we didn't understand a word he was saying).
It is true what everyone says about the food - it is a lot of pasta chicken chips and salad. To be honest I didnt think the food was bad....considering the price we paid for an all inclusive, the food was quite good (also the alcohol is included til 11:30 but since we made so many friends we used to drink til around 12:30, or just get about 10 drinks at 11pm just before they close...haha).
Entertainment is great, the chicken dance made me laugh so much...they also had a movie night on one of the days on a huge projector screen.
If you're looking to get a tan, get your towels out on your sunbed early as thats what everyone else does!!!
Also the reception didnt speak a lot of english, but whatever they did speak was sufficient, they were able to deal with our problems and queries very quickly and efficiently.
We had a farewell committee when we went and loads of people saw us off on the transfer back to Dalaman airport.
Sandy long beach is about 5 mins from the hotel, and if you walk right along it, it will take you Marmaris harbour (right on the other side of Marmaris).
Would deffo recommend getting the Turkish Bath and Massage at the Hotel as they're really professional - don't settle for booking it with the salesmen along the beach as we has a bad experience first time. Do go to the Turkish night - is great to get an insight into the traditional Turkish culture.
On a night out - you must go to the Salt n Pepa bar - say hi to Dramazan (Spike) and Mehmet from Tina and Dipa please!!
Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about the Blue Bays Hotel, I would definitely go there again but for two weeks instead of one!!!
We arrived in the early hours of the morning and checked into Blue Bay Deluxe, the hotel, which we had booked. They then marched us through the hotel, pass the pool, through a door, pass another pool and into the Blue Bays Hotel next door................... We phoned the manager and told him we were not happy at being put in an inferior hotel to the Deluxe. We were told they were over booked, we walked back to the Deluxe hotel with our cases and went and had breakfast. While having breakfast the duty manager came and told us he had 'found' a room for us. Worry about a bit of a fuss I think!
Over all the hotel was O.K, I have no great criticism. The only suggestion I would make is, don't go all inclusive.
At the end of our holiday while we were waiting for the taxi to the airport, we got chatting to a couple who had been dropped a the hotel at the same time as us. Sadly, they hadn't realised they had been marched through the hotel they were meant to be staying in. They had spent the whole week in the hotel next door although, paid the higher price.
I have written this review really just to highlight, this little scam.
We arrived at the hotel at about 7pm. Our first views of the hotel was fantastic. Everything is very modern and new. Our room was fantastic, we haven't got one thing to fault about it. We had a large living room with a balcony and seaview, very modern bedroom also with a balcony overlooking sea and swimming pool. Maids came in everyday with clean towels and cleaned the room til it was spotless, they also folded our clothes up. Pool was very clean but you had to get there early as people had already put their towels down.
Food now were to begin. If you like salad, pasta, rice and bread then this is the place for you. If your a meat eater then your better going self catering. There was barely and meat on offer and if there was the chefs would serve it out to you giving as little as possible proberly hoping to use the left overs for tommorow. Restaurant staff were great, you would just finish your plate and the would take it away. If you want a drink make sure you ask them to get it as they can get offended if you go get it yourself.
Staff could barely talk any english which didnt help if you had a probelm. Reception staff were useless as they didnt really understand what we were asking for. We only seen our reps twice i the 1 week that we were there and the second time we didnt get chance to speak to them.
The hotel isn't realy suited for children as all the entertainment is held in Blue Bay's Hotel and Apartments which is just behind. You can't drink in their bar as our arm bands are different shade of blue. If your lucky enough meet some people from there and get them to go up for your drinks.
Marmaris itself was great. We only stayed there for 1 week but we could have stayed for ages. People hastled you to buy things but once they seen that you had a tan they would leave you alone. While we were away we celebrated my 20th birthday, in every bar we went to they did something (either sing happy birthday, free drink etc.)
We don't have anything really bad to say about the holiday and we would recomend it to anyone. The only thing is that if you have children or young like us (20 & 23) your best to stay in the Blue Bays Hotel and Apartments as there is entertainment on at night.
not 5 star
Upon arrival at the hotel we were told they had received our booking late and therefore did not have a room for us .They could put is in their sister hotel which is also the Blue Bays Hotel but not deluxe. They would move us at 12 or 1300hrs the next day. We had read reviews that warned of this so we were adamant about not accepting this as our booking had been accepted as far as we were concerned. We were told we could speak to a rep that was at present speaking to some other guests. We waited at reception and spoke to her and explained that as our booking had been accepted we were not prepared to accept the compensation of a £10 safe for 3* accommodation when we had paid for 5* .We pointed out that due to our flight times we were already paying for a nights stay that we wouldn’t use and as it was then 10pm at night our weeks stay was being disrupted enough without having to change rooms. She spoke to the reception staff and a room was found for us and the comment made that someone else would now have the same problem the day after. We saw several people over our short stay being moved from one hotel to the other mid morning curious isn’t it?
The room although nice was not deluxe in our opinion. TV had no remote and only 2 English speaking channels one of which was news. No tea or coffees making facilities, also a fridge with no contents not even a small bottle of water. Two narrow wardrobes one with hangers, no drawers at all. The only table was a small round coffee table. Not what I would describe as 5 star facilities.
The food at the hotel was ok, again not 5* but ok. No bottled water available except from outside the hotel.
The pool was clean and ok for size except that there were not enough sun beds for the guests. Chemicals were added to the pool filtration system twice a day whilst patrons were still swimming we have never seen that elsewhere at all. There is very little shade available and not enough parasols for one between two beds this is also unacceptable. Towels were not provided for guests free but were available for 2 lire a day rental. As not everyone was all inclusive and only they wore bands it was difficult to tell where the patrons were from. As we did not see a large proportion of them use the dining room at any time they could be half board or from another hotel. As they had to pay for drinks that could be why they were not discouraged. The staff at the Pool Bar also enjoyed very loud booming music but unfortunately only three songs seemed to be available and as they were in Turkish I don’t think they were for the predominantly English guests. When asked to reduce the volume this was done for about 10 mins, and then increased to disco level. The staff seemed to be surprised that the guests were not enjoying the music. The other bone of contention for us was no cocktails on the All Inclusive menu. We are not connoisseurs and don’t care if cocktails are made with local spirits but no, cocktail’s were “extra”. We tried to order white rum, lemonade and pineapple. (Poor mans Pina-colada)No pineapple was extra, is that an import? The bar staff would also finish their personal conversations either to other bar staff or on mobiles before deigning to serve us the paying guests,
We paid approx £1200 for seven nights including flights and taxes to stay in what was billed as 5* luxury we would rate it at 3.5 possibly 4 but definitely not 5.
We paid for all inclusive to remove the need to shop for anything and did not expect to have to go outside the hotel for bottled water .There was water available but by the glass.
worst hotel i have ever stayed in!!
we used Hays travel - they told me it was a 5 star but really its 4 but it is not even worth that rating! the place is stuffy smokey, dirty, the staff are rude and ignorant, the reps from You Travel, Stacey and Hussain were totally useless!
our toilet and sink broke as as soon as we entered the room and no one came to fix them. we only ended up staying for 8 hours and booked into hotel elegance across the road.if you are due to go there please try and change it. the atmosphere in there is so strange too, no one is help full - i hated it and couldnt wait to get out. please contact me if you have any questions. i just got back last night.
Best holiday ever!
Bluebay hotel was fanstastic!
very clean and most of the staff friendly
maids for very nice and got clean towels and bed linen every other day.
The pool was very nice clean and quite warm and the pool bar was very good for lunch.
we went as self catering and that was better as we heard the food in the hotel wasnt very good..
you should try picadily which is just over the road from the hotel say hello to aziz and rooney from me!
As for night life this would be a great place 2 go..
there are loads of bars & resturants on the beach front some loud and some quite it has a good variety.
Bar street i thought was a great place to go clubbing! it was amazing! and you have to go to the irish bar! very friendly and good entertainment! Say hello to sahin aswell ! =)
Overall i would recomend this holiday to everyone
i thought it was amzing & im hoping to go back soon!
hope you have a great holiday!!
This complex is made up of 3 differant sections. Deluxe Hotel the Blue Bay Hotel and a seperate block for self catering. We stayed at the Blue Bay Hotel and although we were sold this holiday on the basis of 4 star accomodation i can assure you it is only a 3 star at best. so don't be dissapointed, if you are looking for a more upmarket holiday go for the deluxe. The food we were offered was to say the least disgusting, i have nevery seen so many meatballs cooked in so many differant ways drinks were also very suspect in that the bear offered at the pool bar is only 2% and there is only very limited spirits on offer with watered down juice coke or lemonade. You are more than welcome in the hotel restaurant for very nice food at an extra charge of 5 turkish lira per person, which if thay can cook excellant food from the same kitchen why are thay not doing this for their guests. Thay also offer late evening snacks for AI guest this consists of a bowl of soup but only if the dining room has not been locked. On a posative note the pool is excellent and the location is good, and of course the weather is great.
Booked this holiday through XL holidays, great price and good flights. After reading other tripadvisor comments we were dreading it, but was pleasantly suprised.
We were not booked into the deluxe hotel, but our room was totally adequate and exactly as described.
The hotel staff were friendly and efficient and made every effort to make our holiday a pleasure.
The bar staff and animation team were amazing, we had so much fun. Give our love to Salis,Aslan at the bar and Shabo (re named Shabum by us) and Gino, Cindy,Venom and Kadir of the animation team, we love em!
A must is the hotel spa, you need to experience the scrub and soap massage...WOW!
We stayed all inclusive, and had no problems getting drinks, service was terrific. Food was plentiful, even though not of British taste. We found if the food wasn't hot enough all we needed to do was ask, and warmer food would be provided. Nothing seemed too much trouble.
All in all a fantatsic holiday and great value for money.
