Spacy and quality hotel in Marmaris

    by

The hotel is quite big; easily located and found by the old amphitheatre. We took a package tour (including flights + hotel for two weeks); that is why I can't tell the room price per night. Our room had all the needed amenities - fully equipped bathroom, balcony, kitchenette with fridge, TV, enough big bed.

The hotel is much inspired by the enduring legend of the Russian Grand Duchess Anastasia Nicholaevna (the legendary last surviving member of the Romanovs family).

There was one thing we didn't like; don't know if it is valid anymore: there was all the time, from morning until late evening, some organized programme by the pool or outside bar. The music -and the microphone of the show lady- was always too loud, the noise was quite high. It started too early for us, and we always woke up when the shouting started. (Most probably doesn't disturb normal early birds). We sometimes liked to sleep until some 9:30-11:00. It seemed to be impossible. It sounded some pool gym or something.

Unique Quality: I liked the spacious, clean rooms with kitchenette (for breakfast preparation) and the balcony, where it was nice to sit in the evening with a drink if didn't feel like going out every night during the two-week stay.

A daily surprise was the very careful and skillful folding of the towels, often folded in the shape of some bird or heart, often rose leaves or something else included.

The services were good; I liked the fact that I didn't have to dress up much and go downtown for taking a massage - it was available downstairs at the hotel (classical massage).

Directions: The hotel is located next to the amphitheatre and a short ride/walk to the beach (800 meters) and Marmaris center (1.5 km).

by A TripAdvisor Member

just back from club anastasia, and thought it was terrific. First timers to turkey and not sure what to expect, but it was excellent. Rooms were large, and very clean, whole complex was spotless, and the staff were very good. Didnt want to leave. Definately be back.

Club Anastasia on first impressions is quite impressive - especially if you are comparing it to other Hotels/Apartments in the local vicinity. It looks fresh, clean and the apartments themselves are bright and airy. On arrival in our room we were amazed to find only 3 hangers in our wardrobe (bearing in mind we were there for two weeks) and 2 small drawers in a cabinet that was just big enough to hold our socks. We phoned reception to request some more hangers and the next day we received them - 1 extra hanger, that gave us a total of 4, a minor issue but surely people require slightly more than 4 hangers in total for 2 people for 2 weeks? The music selection in evenings was dreadful - banging thumping garage music in some cases and this was being played to a family audience, not to an audience of 18 years olds. This didn't spoil the place but the ambience created was not one of relaxation and a holiday atmosphere but more of a Club 18-30 rave night! Much of the music was fine but then out of the blue this noise that was totally out of character with the Hotel would start, very odd? The pool area was great - always clean and the staff were always at hand to bring you a drink or some snacks.
As for "Sexy Jack" - Neither my girlfriend or any of the other guests that we spoke with could honestly understand how he has become known as "Sexy Jack" but everyone is different. The entertainment team worked hard at pleasing everyone, and during the day were great - the evening shows weren't up to much at all to be honest, but Turkey is a relatively new destination compared to the likes of Spain which has years of experience.
Our cleaners seemed ok, the room was cleaned every couple of days but one couple we met from Edinburgh said that their floor hadn't been cleaned at all and that they wiped their feet on the way out of their room!
Bella Blue - the restaurant was nice, we never actually ate there that often but what we did have was fine. Domino's Bar down the road was brilliant.
To summarise Club Anastasia on the whole was very good family hotel - they are getting all the major things right but are getting a lot of little things wrong and you know how the little things can begin to grate after a while.
Don't get us wrong the Hotel IS a very nice place, please stay here. I have mainly written about the negatives which maybe isn't fair.
Come on Anastasia - sort the music out (especially for the kids there), and buy some coat hangers!

Clean and Tidy but Profit Hungry!

We booked a trip to Marmaris with FirstChoice staying at Club Anastasia. On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff and our bags along with ourselfs taken upto our room, which was sparcley equiped. The hotel serves Self Catering, and for that you get a small electric protable hob, and a small fridge, so your limited to what you can cook. There was also a BIG ant problem with our room, however they sorted that problem out very quickly.

Our main problem was with the reception staff, and heres why. On the first night we decided to goto the Havana bar and have a few drinks, however in order to do so we had to use there Card system, we were told that if we placed 50GBP on the card we would gain an extra 10%, however as we were counting out our Lira to the equivilant of 50GBP a bus load of new arrivals landed and the guy at reception suddently stopped interest. He took 40YTL from us and said that if we come back in 20mins and put another 40YTL on the card he would give us the 10%. Sounds fair. However on return he denied any knowledge of this, this infuriated us as money was dissapearing from the Card too, again no help when trying to find out why. We did manage to get our 10% but only when the First Choice rep Gina played hell with them, good lass!.

The other problem was the people stopping, kids running wild, drunken yobs making a huge noise on a night, the people going there spoiled the trip, Gina the rep told us that its not usually the case to have that type of people stopping there but a lot of cheap holidays were issues to fill unused space, its just a shame we had to be there when the yobs were.

Drinks, Supermarket and Bellablue restraunt are expensive and rubbish, I would highly recommend going out for lunch, infact the Sidewalk Café which is just round the corner in Time Plazer is cheap, fantastic food and british owned. Lynn, Charlie and Behcet will also give you some very good advice on places to visit.

Club Anastasia on the whole is very clean and Tidy, room service is perfect. The toilet sisterns fill very slowly however, so you and your family or friends will need to plan ahead if going to the loo.

Its a place to sleep, eat and drink somewhere else...

"Hotel.... Club Anastasia"

In one word.... Faultless.

From the moment of arrival, till the second we boarded the coach to leave, the staff were non-stop in their efforts to make sure we had a brilliant time.

The rooms were very clean and nicely furnished, although no T.V's. This wasn't a problem for us, but once the entertainment finished (around midnight), a book was all that would be on offer, so could see this being a problem for certain people.

Entertainment for the children in the form of a kids club, seemed to go on till the evening, although costs (if any) not sure about. The live entertainment had a good mixture and seemed to cater for all tastes during the week; even if it wasn't quite your thing, you couldn't knock their abilities. Then afterwards the Havana Boys.... Spontaneous, crazy and up for a good laugh and matching anyones antics, so it was up to yourself, how much you wanted to enjoy the entertainment, they were very, very good.

An upgrade (I'd recommend) to half board is available if you're self catering and worked out at £7.50 if paid for ten days. More or less days are on offer though. The food was excellent, varied choice and plentyful. You couldn't eat it all, no seriously, you couldn't. For instance, six lamb chops on a main meal and I'd say three breasts of chicken on a salad starter - that's why the bird flu didn't last, we ate all the chicken!

Last but no means least, Gina the First Choice rep.... was fab. Not pushy regarding the trips and had a good rapport with the hotel staff, so any niggles, appeared to be cleared up immediately. Also gave good advice on getting around and how we should deal with the locals.

great holiday
