    everyones view are different

i was extremley wary of coming here after i read the reviews so thought i would share mine. me and the fella stayed here 2/7/2012 for 10 nights we are both in our 20s. the flight was ok, the transfare was 90 mins and we arrived at the hotel at 5am. the reception was VERY slow and we ended up finally in our room about 6am ish!
the room was standard double bed, bathroom and balcony. i can see were people with children can complain because they wernt the best rooms but we were hardly in it so we were content. the rooms were cleaned daily and the maid puts pretty flowers on your bed, awwwwww.
the food was ok, we wernt fussy once again and lived of chips, burgers, chicken and rice but again a english family group may find it hard work because there is alot of russian foods some kids wont like, olives, chillis ect.
didnt have any trouble with russian, germans ect but we could understand why people wrote bad reviews on the rudeness.
you cant get a bed by the pool or beach unless your up very early but by 3pm beds start emptying. we stayed on the section of the beach next to the hotels, you get free wifi, free lilos to use, they serve tasty food to your sunbed and wait on you hand and foot, all you need to do is buy drinks, i stuck to water and they brought you ice in a glass when you looked too hot (which was well needed)
weather was 45 degrees and above most days and 35 degrees and above at night!
water park is 5 mins from the hotel on the front, dont pre book just walk down its about £8 for adults and FUN!!
we went to a turkish bath which we booked outside the hotel front and it was AMAZING, cheaper than the hotel and they provide transport and free massage included, speak to alibaba next to the hotel he does the trips, verrrrry amusing guy!
ok now the nightlife, bar street was ace! the clubs are amazing and it was everything i imagined at first BUT we realised during the week is fine but when we went on the weekend its completly different and more for the locals than english. i was constantly being touched up by turkish lads day and night (including the hotel staff) that got very annoying but no harm done. the bars are good and lively leading upto barstreet. 2 cocktails for 10lira or 2 raki and lemonade for 15 (my fave drink) then when u hit bar street we were paying 30+ for the same drinks!
we only saw 1 fight which was a nasty one but you get that everywere i suppose, my advice would be stay well clear of the turkish lads we had a run in with a few but only because i dont like touchy feely people.
next to the hotel they have a strip of english bars, man united, liverpool, everton, celtic ect very entertaining and its like a mini version of benidorm.
hotel entertainment, iv seen better but familys seemed to like it.
ALWAYS haggle, we got a watch, ring and bracelet for £35 but they origionally wanted £70+ untill we walked away and they soon changed there minds, quiet laughable!
the airport on the way home was rediculous, £14 for 2 happy meals!! take your own food. also my advice would be to get a phone card cause txts are £1.50 plus your usual charge and calls are £1.85 to make £1.65 to recieve plus your normal network charge.
i think iv covered most of the trip. me personnally im glad iv visited and was a lovely place but not for me. make your own mind up on the place but ignore most bad reviews it really isnt as bad as people say.
    enjoy your holls :-)

Well how do i start, the basics it’s clean but run down needs a revamp after this season ends, carpets don’t fit +properly full of bleach stain’s -woodwork it all chipped skirting’s etc door frames,. No way is this a 4*more like a 2* aircon did not work we complained nothing was done room still boiling hot at night we were told its down to the temperature how cold the hotel run the air con at 39 deg all day that's hot room should have been colds as a freezer ?, the safe was not working when we got there took an hour to fix but it packed up again after 4 days, the room was was too hot to sleep in to noisy to open door window hardly slept for a week fridge was running warn not cold would have been good to warm a pie but no good for keeping water cold, rooms very basic but clean, maids we had did clean room change towels every day and was very polite and that goes for all the staff u ask them a question and they would help you in any way they could, as it goes for the cleanliness ‘of the hotel i have never ever seen people clean the floors so much in my life it went on all day everyday that was 5*the entertainment staff were great during the day and night good night entertainment as well if you go to bed before 11pm forget it if you are in the 1 st blocks as the music cut off time is 11 pm, hotel is made up of 4 blocks 2 on the main road 1 in the middle and the last one overlooking the sea and sun terrace, food was ok if you like it Luke warm that was served in the middle isle main restaurant go for the grill outside food is good there and hot spoke to a chef that i met in the hotel he is a top head chef in Swansea’s top restaurant and his words were its edible but if you eat food that’s not hot properly through you seriously risk food poisoning ,his wife fell ill –i fell ill and my Mrs. was ill all the way home and still ill today we all had the runs, drinks on offer are tuborg lager, raki vodkas, gin and that’s about it very basic wine was on tap in 3 places around the hotel water was free not in bottles tho and they weren’t too happy to see people filling up there bottles of water i did it a few times a day, jucies (squash) on tap help yourself job, pools were lovely 3 in total but half 6 to put your towels down on loungers that’s bad no good in peek period and that’s the same for the beach get there early if u want a bed because if you leave it late you won’t get one that’s for sure, a complaint was made as the bar staff did not wash the plastic glasses we were made to drink from just rinsed under the tap(GERMS) food is repetitive tho as is every hotel plenty of choice tho watch out for the Russians they are ignorant and love taking photos like model’s all around the hotel bending over just wearing a thong taking photo’s while people were eating dinner and kids running around that was not very nice, hotel overrun by Russians when i stayed, overall holiday was nice lovely location almost on the beach would i go to his hotel again ?????????? Not really would i recommend it no.

"I am taking the [--] plane", "Never again in this [--] hotel" - I swear I heard all this with my ears. I read some posts here before I go and I thought that Bulgarian customers are less fussy and pretentious and I never believed i'll be in a situation of relactant to stay in terms of higiene - I have many many business trips in BG and I sleep even in small village houses -just higiene habits are different at different countries.
Putting that aside - the worker in Nergis just don't care and there is nobody there to inpect them -for example the beach boy has made it his own beach and one have to pay if he wants a place and REMEMBER : Do not take a drink from the hotel - he will sell you his own- you say sunbeds and drinks are in the"all inclusive" - Than he becomes really hostile

Never, Never, Again, Nergis

by TripAdvisor Member jeddy7

My husband and I have just returned from a two week all inclusive holiday in the Club Nergis Beach. We have travelled a fair bit and are open minded about what to expect, but we have never stayed in a hotel so bad. The hotel staff were very rude and at times quite agressive towards anyone who tried to complain, they did not seem to care whether you were accomodated or not.

The room was very basic and tiny, the shower cubicle was small but to give some credit the shower was quite powerful and the water (when we got some) was always hot.

The dining area was by far the worst aspect of this hotel, it was dirty and the food being served was very unimaginetive, bland and not very warm. The main dish was served out by kitchen staff who rationed the portions as they saw fit, and if you dared asked for extra looks could kill !! There was no cold counters for the salad bar, and no air conditioning inside any of the hotels main reception \ dining\ bar areas, thus food was left exposed and warm, one bar staff member openly admitted they were using tap water for juice machines and ice. At bar areas, glasses were only being rinsed under tap water so always appeared dirty. One bar staff member filled a plastic tumbler with disinfectant and proceeded to use it to wet the floor so he could mop it and then just rinsed the tumbler out under the tap added it to others lying on a dirty towel so it could be re-used to serve drinks. As a result of these unhygienic practices many guests including myself and husband had severe tummy upsets, (one small child ended up in hospital) after this we chose to eat out at all times. At one point I pointed out the many unsafe practices to the "guest relations" person at the hotel but was informed that everything was "clean" and how it should be. The list of health and safety issues within this hotel were endless, the rating is 4 star but we have been in far superior 2 star accomadations. Entertainment was at best average whereby the guests played silly games so they entertained each other !!

We never did get to try out the pool due to it being over-crowded and there being no sun-beds to be had after 07.00 am, also, as it is against my sense of fairness we did not get to know which of the young waiters you gave money to too secure one !!

Down at the beach we did become somewhat freindly with the beach boy and at a price (we had to buy food \ drinks at the hotels beach front resturant ) we were able to sun bathe and swim in the at times murky sea and considering we were in the hotel on an all inclusive bases the whole situation became quite ridiculous and very expensive.

The only positive thing about this hotel that I can say is that it is located on the beach on the main drag where there are many shops\resturants\bars etc. but the next time (if ever) I go back to Marmaris I will do a lot of research and book into perhaps a smaller family run hotel.

Interesting hotel, but the weather was great!

by TripAdvisor Member Adam_H01

Have just returned from the Club Nergis Beach in Marmaris where we had an interesting time….

Having booked through, we were transferred to the Nergis Select which was, of course, the wrong hotel. Time for a walk, complete with cases, etc.

When we checked into the Club Nergis Beach, the receptionist wanted to see all our paperwork and passports and confirmed that we were in block C. After reading hotel reports from Trip advisor we mentioned that we’d heard that block A was the best one. Many thanks to the receptionist who then allocated us a room in block A!

We went all-inclusive: Breakfast was a mixture of eggs, eggs and traditional Turkish breakfast. Cereals and real milk were also available. Lunch was OK, with a couple of meat dishes, rice and salad. Dessert usually looked great and tasted bland. Dinner resembled lunch. Overall the menu was sustenance but nothing to look forward to. Don’t believe the hype – this is only just a 3 star hotel, nowhere near a 4 star.

Eating out – Natalie’s. Fantastic food and one of the best fillet steaks I’ve ever eaten for the sum of about £8.00. The desserts looked great but I didn’t have any room…

The room was small but clean and reasonably well serviced. The air conditioning was vital and COLD! As to the lady who didn’t get her room in block A, (another review of this hotel) sorry, but you didn’t miss much.

The pool (block A) was good. As for the sun beds – here the review gets amusing… Well… On our first 2 days we didn’t get sunbeds by the pool. We went to the beach and enjoyed. Someone at the hotel mentioned that you normally couldn’t get one after 08.30. At 07.45 the next morning I managed to reserve the last 2. That day we were told that there’d been loads that morning, as it was ‘transfer day’. Cutting the long story short, our earliest morning to get the last couple of sunbeds was 06.30. We also witnessed full-blown arguments where someone had moved someone else’s towels, moved umbrellas or was desperate to use someone else’s sun bed. One young lady commented that she’d been unable to sleep, so had sat out since 05.30, and most had been reserved before then. Rumours persisted of alarms being heard in neighbouring rooms at around 03.30….

To summarise – small but reasonably clean rooms (block A), indifferent food, great location, unremarkable staff and [--] problems with the lack of sunbeds. We’ve already booked to return to Marmaris, but to the far, far better Blue Bay’s Hotel.

Generally Good Hotel

by TripAdvisor Member TAZ2007Liverpool

just returned from nergis hotel . generally good we were in the best block a so not bad but other people in blocks b ,c ,d were not happy at all . place is full of very rude russians who spoil it they treat the staff like pigs and therefore staff moral is very low . i found when i said please or thankyou the staff were shocked!
air cn is good in rooms on all day which was great pool is very nice . beach is ok (see taz the sunbed man on the beach he looks after you great guy)sunbeds by pool are all gone by 7am the russians make the germans look slow ! food is generally good although you have to get down early to get a table otherwise you will be waiting around plate in hand! the best thing about the place is the location loads of good places to go particullally rosies place on the front and the british bar round the corner . i have been to turkey 9 times so i know what to expect some reviewers on here are well over the top i would give the place 7.5 overall generally for it s location . cheers

have just returned from my first holiday in marmaris at the nergis, glad we booked b and b food was well below par, ate breakfast 3 times and that was first morning and last two mornings when had little money left, air conditioning was good when it wasnt dripping on my head in the night, room was small as we had two beds then a camp bed for my daughter( no nookie ) cleaners changed lower sheet of bedding once in two weeks, also look after your toothpaste as ours was taken along with a glass we had bought and some tobacco, reception staff were pleasant, hotel photographer is good must recommend, entertainment staff was poor , and if you are going look out for the strange loud bloke in a bikini, very annoying , HEEELLLLLOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! excellent location , and be sure to visit natalies steakhouse for breakfast lunch and dinner , also andys bar, way too many russians ,poles and bulgarians in the hotel, set your alarm for 3 o clock if you want 1 of the 30 poolside sunbeds , 3 pools all together but have just found that out in england (very useful) dont use the beachside aqua park very dangerous , health and safety top draw, i think not, glad we only used room for sleeping , rest of the holiday 5* , will be going back but probably wont use nergis again, ok we wont use it
be sure to visit the bazar very goods deals , look out for a clothes guy called andem , has the best style of genuine fake jeans there ,

Sun Bed Wars !!

by TripAdvisor Member LouLou72Derbyshire

Having just returned from a weeks stay at the Nergis hotel with my sister I had to write a review of how disappointed we were with this hotel.Having booked on the understanding that this was a 3/4 star hotel we wouldn't have rated it above a 2 star. The rooms where small to say the least and barely clean. The bedding and towels where torn.As an experiment we tipped the maid half way through the week which goes against the grain somewhat as we usually tip for service at the end of our stay and what a difference it made. That evening we where treated to a cleaner room and full size fluffy green towels from where we have no idea.Onto the sunbed saga.If you enjoy a lie in this hotel is not the place to go.You have to be up at 5 30 to get a spot by the pool and even then we found we where acused by other nationalities that we had stolen their beds. This hotel has a policy that no sunbeds are reserved before 7 30 am.Which isn't inforced. The first choice reps had little or no interest in the difficulties we suffered.Culminating in a disasterous last day. When we arrived we had asked if we could book a late check out from our room as we were not being picked up for our return flight until 12 45 am and check out was at 12 pm the previous day. We were told to come to reception on the day of departure and having done so were then told that no rooms were available meaning we had a 13 hour wait in 45 degree heat.Having then spoken to the reps and management of the hotel we were offered a shower which turned out to be in the gym which was only used by men and with just a curtain and nowhere to change.Hardly what we would class as a curtesy room.On a brighter note the hotel was well placed at the center of all the bars and restaurants.Natalie's just along from the hotel on the beach front is a must.Best steaks cooked to perfection. This being our second visit to Turkey our experience was somewhat spoilt by the poor hotel not sure we would be in a rush to go back.

Overall it was a good hotel

by TripAdvisor Member xRaveInitx

We arrived at the nergis hotel on the 2nd of august 07 for 2 weeks. When our mini bus pulled up at the hotel we didnt think it looked at all like the one we'd booked to stay in -- But you have to remeber at this hotel there are 4 blocks A B C & D and the one on the cover (A) and the other blocks look nothing like the one they show in the brochure. We went into the reception and we were showed to our room which was on the 5th floor in the C block.

When we got to the room the first thing that caught out eye was the shape of the very small door. It was on a slant and looked like something off Alice in Wonderland. As we were on the top floor, there was a slanting ceiling, so at one side it was very low. Also we noticed the room that only had one double and a pull-out double couch, but our 2 children are too big to sleep together, so we needed an extra bed, we went to inform the staff of this but they told us they couldnt get us a bed that night. The airconditioning also wouldnt work in the room, so again we had to inform the staff of this, they told us they would fix it in the morning, but we told them we needed it now. So they came and fixed it there and then without a problem.

The next day we got an extra bed for our child. Then in the middle of the night she came to us saying the bed had broke as she sat on it! So again we had to complain and they gave us a new bed. The following day, But the old broken bed was just left out in the hallway for about 2 days. We wernt too pleased with the block we were staying in and the low ceiling was causing us problems as we are all quite tall and we were all banging our heads. On the third night we came up to the room and discoverd there was no power in the room - which ment no aircon. So we went down to complain and this time a lovely women who worked on reception came up and got the power back on. We also told her about the problem with the low ceiling, she was very understanding and told us she would move our rooms on monday.

On monday we went to the A Block reception as they had a room there for us. We went to have a look at it first and we were very pleased. They told us to come back in a couple of hours as the room still needed to be cleaned. So a few hours later we came back and were told that we were too late and that he'd give the room to someone else. The reception guy was very rude and arrogant in the way he spoke to us. We were very angry and dissappointed. So then they said come back tomorrow as there was another departure the next day and they said they would get us another room in the A block.

The next day we went to look at the room and again we were very pleased and so we moved into that room. There was no more problems with rooms after that !!

The food was okay, but you have to remember, you are in turkey. The food isnt all english, at breakfast, there wasnt any toast and and there wasnt a full english brekki in sight! Although there are two cheifs who make fresh pancakes and omelettes every morning which were delicious! The food was good overall.

The pool wasnt very big, but the temperature was perfect! There isnt alot of sunbeds around the pool, so you have to get up at around 6am to get a sunbed.

The beach wasnt very nice, we only went on it for 1 day. But we went to nicer beaches on the boat trips which were fab and at very reasonable prices.

The location of the hotel was brill! Right on the front, you couldnt ask for a better place.

Overall, the holiday was good. The first few days we wernt very happy, but then we got used to it all... we had a great time!!

Awful Hotel - Stay Away!!

by TripAdvisor Member NATALIE25London

On arrival to the hotel at 11.00pm we were told our room wasnt ready. We had to wait 40 minutes for an extra bed to arrive for a room where 3 people were staying.

The room in general was tiny and drab, we had one wardrobe between the three of us. AIR CONDITIONING DIDNT WORK for the whole holiday. It was 45 degrees and we had no air con. ABSOLUTE JOKE! and you have to pay extra for a safety deposit box. Alot of people were complaining about the conditions in the hotel, not just us.

The staff were rude and didnt offer much help when we complained the room was too stuffy. This is more like a 1-2 star hotel - if that.

There was only one resturant offering a buffet which was more or less the same food every day. Salad, Salad and more salad!

The only slightly good thing about this hotel was that it is centrally located - other than that wouldnt go there again if you paid me!

sauna hotel

by TripAdvisor Member fifiEastKilbride

graham, east kilbride,
hotel looks good on web, but there are 4 blocks so u will prob stay in different hotel, romms were tiny, no drawers, air con not work , no air con in main bar or reception area{like a sauna}, food crap. set ur alarm clock 4 6am or u wont get sunbed, ignorant staff.hope ive put u off. this was 4th time in marmaris and by far the worst hotel.could go on 4 hours but u will just get bored. just dont go. by the way, the serin next door is brill and cheaper.

Hiya Maggie, I came back a couple of weeks ago after my first visit to Marmaris - Ive just rebooked for next year!! We found the Garden on our 2nd nite, liked it so much we stayed there for the rest of the hol (how sad is that???) Please say hi to all the guys for me (Tracey) especially Joseph & Bob, they looked after us fantastically & we both miss them all loads.
Hope you have a good time, we were there during the bombings, actually we were in the Garden on the night of the dolmus one! They were fantastic, everybody everywhere put our feelings before their own, and by the time we left on 1st Sept everything was back to normal.

Re: weather in october

by leics

Pleasantly warm and sunny, I would imagine.

Temperature/sunshine hours tables here:

If you google 'nergis beach marmaris reviews' you'll get plenty of reviews. They are, I have to say, rather variable.

You'll get reviews for the Melay if you do the same type of search.

Re: weather in october

by Sirvictor

In october weather will be very beautiful not so hot or cold. As soon as the sun shines it will be pleasant. After 18:00 o'clock it will be a little chilly. May be you will need a pull-over. The Turkish tourists will return home becauses the schools are opening. For that reason marmaris will not be crawdy. For a group of 18 every bar and rest will be opened. Happy birthday. Have a nice time
