My first holiday abroad and what a time I had!
We arrived in the middle of the morning and were surprised at how basic the hotel looked (from the front). After a good nights sleep we woke to find a beautiful, fun, friendly and safe environment! The staff were brilliant! Nothing was too much bother. They were friendly and always keen to help you out with whatever problem or query you had!
The food was perfect and the drinks were cheap! BUY ONE GET ONE FREE!!!
There was a staff show each night as well as extras such as a traditional Turkish night and a Michael Jackson impersonator! The rooms were basic, but clean with PLENTY of room for storage as well as relaxing. Our room was cleaned and bedding changed every morning. I found the rooms to be secure and personal belongings perfectly safe.
Already my family and I have decided we will stay at the Epic in Sept 07! It’s in the perfect location. Plenty of family bars and nightclubs within walking distance, as well as shops and restaurants. If you do decided Turkey is the place for you…I highly recommend the Epic Hotel and Apartments in Marmaris!
Thank you to Jake, Sam, Ozy and Mehmet for a perfect holiday

As season travellers to Turkey (9 times) we knew of the Epic although have never stopped there previously.
What a pleasant surprise! We arrived after midnight and were allocated our 1 bed appartment, unfortunately it was above the Bar area and we asked for a change, as it was late they suggested that we stop for the night and move next day.
Next day we were offered a choice of 2, and duly moved to the top floor with a fantastic view over the pool and surrounding mountains.
The hotel is approx 9/10 years old and could possibly do with small improvements but the standard of the staff at all levels was excellent.
From the front desk to the cleaners, bar and waiter service were all very helpful and unlike many other hotels they did not take the huff when we went elsewhere for a meal ( although the standard of food was exceptionally good in-house).
Plenty to do for familys including the popular water slide but also a relaxing upper terrace for the grown-ups.
All in all we had probably the most relaxing two weeks ever.
Would I book the Epic again?
fab place, i went with my hubby and two young sons, they loved the "lads" and the pool so much, that we only spent one day at the beach the rest were spent around the pool.one week is not enough though....prices for food and drink are fair, and the food is excellent.ice creams were super cheap too!! the only downside was the music,it was a bit repetitive, but the kids liked it which is all that mattered."enrique"(ersin) was first class, and the kids loved "50 cent" well definately stay there if we visit turkey again...
Grows on You!
My partner & I stayed at the Epic from 29th July to 12th August. We were a bit surprised at the reception area - it sort of resembled a backpackers hostel but don't let it put you off.
Our room was 1 bedroom self catering. As in other reviews - yes it is dated but kept very clean with regular changing of towels and sheets.
The pool area is great, with a small childrens pool. We never had any problem getting a sunbed. The pool "boys" set up regular fun games such as tug of war, polo, watermelon eating contest. Nothing terribly exciting but a big laugh all the same. There were a couple of nasty accidents on the waterslides due to safety issues not addressed by the pool supervisor, so if you have children, make sure they do not use the slide when water is turned off and do not follow too closely after the person before them. There should be a staff member in attendance at all times but there was often no one there for long periods. There is no lock on the gate when the slide is not operating, which is very tempting for children.
The location of the Epic is brilliant and along with the friendliness of all of the staff, it more than makes up for the basic accomodation. There are many good resturaunts to choose from on and around the street on which the hotel is located. The little dolmuses that run to and from Marmaris about every 5 minutes til past midnight are brilliant. Get on or off anywhere and it only costs 1YTL. Less than 40p. It's only about a 15 minute walk into Marmaris but it is usually so very hot that the dolmus is just great.
An absolute must to visit the Talk of the Town in Marmaris. It is a sort of drag act with 3 British Guys, but tasteful and clean enough to be able to take your kiddies along. I can guarantee you will laugh your socks off and not be disappointed. Even the inclusive meal for vegetarians (me) was good which is a plus!
We also had a lovely meal for a birthday celebration at the Taj Mahal in Marmaris. A bit pricey by Turkey standards but the food was divine.
On the whole, I became pleasantly surprised by the Epic after the initial "oh gosh what have we come to". The staff are fab, especially Jake, Elvis, 50 cent and the gorgeous Memet. Always so pleased to see you, so friendly and such fun. The Turkish people absolutely love children so be prepared for them to be fussed over by everyone!
We met some lovely people among the guests, too.
I would thoroughly recommend the Epic to anyone and even though we do not usually visit the same place twice, I would book again if we were to ever return to Turkey.

Booking next year now!
After staying in Marmaris and Icmeler in previous years, i had high expectations. For the first time my friend and myself were going on holiday without our parents, being just 18 and 19. When we first arrived at the hotel we were hit by how much the hotel looked like a youth hostel, but it soon improved once through into the reception.
Having our bags lost by the airline we were eager to get out and make the most with what we had. The rooms we found were small, being that we were in B&B accomodation. Despite being small the rooms were extremely clean and well kept. The breakfast consisted of bread, cold meats, fruit and veg.
The pool area was always clean, with willing staff to clean up any mess. The pool staff are very friendly and helpful, and proved to make the day time very entertaining. The pools were cleaned every morning, and when everyone had left the poolside the staff would get to work scrubbing the floors and moving all the sunbeds.
The downstairs pub was always full, serving excellent food and with great entertainment. Theres a free pool table, staff shows, karaoke, and dancing on the bar. From 6-12 there is happy with all drinks buy one get one free! And with the measures it only takes a few to be giddy.
If you're going to venture out for food, the best place in close range in the Welcome Inn, straight down the road on the left hand side. The food is amazing, drinks are buy one get one free, and free entertainment every night! Not to mention the hunky waiter. They also to a fantastic offer, 5 courses for 18YTL! You get Turkish Bread, any main meal (some of which cost more singularly), a fruit dish, ice cream and tea or coffee.
The hotel is about a 25 minute walk, depending on the speed you walk. The thing to be careful of though is the heat. Walking to Marmaris in the heat can be unbarable, so make sure you have plenty of water, and if all else fails the number 2 dolmus will pick you up right outside the hotel and take you to marmaris for only 1YTL!
The hotel overall was excellent, and i am currently looking into booking again for next year! The staff really make the holiday special!
