Marmaris Resort, Marmaris

Marmaris is located along the Mediterranean Coast at Aegean region on the south west of Turkey. It is one of the most popular seaside holiday resorts in Turkey as well as in Europe. It is the largest and most developed Aegean resort with huge marinas and beautiful coastline.
Marmaris is also a port city with large cruise ships from Europe and America calling at the port. The city is surrounded by rugged pine covered mountains. The named Marmaris is derived when Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent was not particularly happy with the castle being designed and constructed by the architect in Marmairs. He was heard murmuring "mimari" meaning "hang the architect"! However it is just a legend.
Marmaris was once a small sleepy fishing village but has undergone tremendous development over the last thirty years due to the influx of foreign tourists. Marmaris is ideal for water sports such as yachting and sailing. It has quality attractions that pull the crowd such as friendly people, beautiful sandy beaches, delicious fresh seafood, sweat local wines and a long hot and humid temperature that can exceed 40 degrees Ceclcius ocassionally. Foreign tourists can also take regular ferries to Rhodes Island in Greece from the port of Marmaris.

hi,
me and my boyf are going to turkey right at the start of october and are staying in pineta hotel which does look very nice.
could someone please help to find how far away from the main centre is this hotel we have read on some reviews this seems to not be as close to maramaris as we thought.
also wat are the best day activities to be done

on the map it looks to be about 500m from the sea and right in the centre of marmaris.

Hi, I stayed at the pineta in september 2005 & it was about a 5 min walk to the beach, and u are not that far from the town centre, u dont really notice anyway because u are in and out all the shops on the way or at least i was, i had a turkish bath in the hotel it was great, u are better getting it at the start of your holiday as it is ment to prep the skin for a tan, there is a water park about a 10 min walk from the hotel not sure if it will be open in october,and i done a all inclusive boat trip that was good fun,i am flying out for a week on the 7th so u never now i might bump into u,have a good holiday.

25 minutes walk or 10 min bus ride... but there plenty of restaurants/bars around that area

get dolmus to gima centre for night life, and for booking trips go on to the sea front. don't book trips through your rep, too expensive. book on the sea front and haggle on the prices.

A very nice restaurant with very good and friendly staff. This restaurant is now a joint Turkish/English venture and is well worth a visit for either English breakfast or an evening meal.
We ate their on three occasions and enjoyed each visit. English breakfast made with nice bacon and sausage.
