All inc day cruises in Marmaris

by demic

Hi folks, it's been 2 years since we were last in Marmaris ( having been there 4 years running ) and one of the best value things we found on our previous visits were the all inclusive day cruises out of Marmaris. However, there was concern during our holiday in 2005 that the boat owners were going to be stopped from doing the "all inclusive" type cruise.

If anyone has any information on this, I'd be very grateful. We used to go on a boat called the Mega Diana and it was fabulous. The staff were wonderful, the food was fab and the whole day cost £10!

Thank you in advance for any info.

Travel Tips for Marmaris

Gokova Bay

Gökova environmental special protection region: This region plays an important role in yacht tourism with its indented coast. Red pine and sweetgum (liquidambar orientalis) forests hold good value in the region, where it is possible to see all the Mediterranean plants together.

olu deniz - Blue Lagoon

by Conflictrealms

If you are staying at Marmaris, ask you hotel rep or someone like that about olu deniz, Blue Lagoon. It is the place i remember most about turkey, it was extremely beautiful. You had to go down a lot of mountain road to get there, which is quite a pleasant journey. Seeing all kinds Turkish forest. Once you are at olu deniz, (after about a 1 hour drive from marmaris), You'll first notice the long golden beach with clean blue water...However, continue up the small, non commercialed road. The beach will be on one side, and on the other side of the road is a small long forest wall. You'll end up around the other side of the trees, and find diamond sand, and clear water. It is a cove type place, surrounded by beautiful cliff/mountain. The cove is joined to the sea when the road curves round. There are a few local shops, tho they are not busy. And you can get a drink after relaxing in the water with schoals of fish swimming around you. There are many types of fish, they all swim around your feet, i recommend you take a snookal so you can see the beauty of it all. The water isnt deep either, it takes its time getting deeper and i'd say it goes no deeper then . You wont regret travelling the 1 hour ride to get to olu deniz.

Lovely Marmaris

by denizkizi

We don't have many pictures of Marmaris but this lovely town is really one of the must sea in Turkey. You should not miss boat trips around Marmaris. The main reason for me to build a page for Marmaris to recommend a restaurant and a hotel. I remember having difficulties when I try to find a place to stay or get some info about Marmaris via Internet. Even on VT I couldn't find any hotel with average price. Another problem is hotels are always full. We had to go there without any reservation. We were so lucky finding such a nice hotel on the second day of our Marmaris trip. (We had to stay in a horrible hotel the first night :))
