Lunamar Apartments

Just returned from the Lunamar and couldn't fault the hotel or the staff. The rooms are large and they are cleaned everyday but the air conditioning is a bit expensive at £30 per week. The hill up to the entrance is very steep and due to some break ins at other hotels in the area they have locked the garden gate which is halfway up the hill. The only problem we had was the flies and the wasps, they were everywhere not just the Lunamar but all around the surrounding area.If you are going to the Atlantis Waterpark during your visit eat there the night before you can get 25 percent off the entrance fee.We ate there twice and the second time we got free entrance for the whole family

Lunamar.......fantastic!

The Lunamar apartments are fantastic. We have been there for the past 3 years, and are going back in 2006. We have two teenage daughters, and feel happy that they are safe to go about on their own if they wish. The staff are amazing and make your holiday enjoyable. The accommodation is of a high standard and kept very clean, on a daily basis. The two pools are kept very clean so you feel safe going in them and are of a good size. My husband thoroughly enjoys the english breakfasts served in the restaurants. A must for anyone who goes is a visit to the Violet restaurant, situated down the hill. The staff are very friendly, the food is delicious and the prices are excellent compared with some other restaurants in the same area. Altogether, a fantastic holiday ....... we always hate coming home!!!!!!

Had fantastic time at the Lunamar

This was my first holiday abroad on my own with 2 young children. I couldn't have asked for a better place. The staff were fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. Room was a good size and cleaned daily. The food in the hotel was very cheap and pretty good. Nice restaurant just down the road called Carols. Can recommend the Turkish bath and manicure/pedicure within the hotel. I had a really lovely and relaxing holiday and my kids loved it too. I would definitely go back.

We had a great time at Marmaris, We would definately go back, but wouldn't stay at the Lunamar Hotel, as we had some problems with cleanliness and problems with appliciances. Our kettle was filthy, it had really bad limescale and when we made a cup of tea it fell apart. When we reported the problem, they took the kettle and then gave us the same on back after a couple of days unrepaired. Our bed and towels were only changed twice during our two weeks stay and one sofa bed was falling apart. But apart from that we did actually have a pleasent stay in Marmaris, we would definately recommend going down the marine and going on boat trips, really worth the money!

Can't fault it!

Could not find fault with the accommodation, the people or Marmaris itself. Well, maybe the restaurant owners were a little over the top with their enthusiasm to invite you in but they did accept, "Later, thank you" immediately and were very polite. All the restaurants offered good cheap food with some even having English bacon. The food presentation was splendid. Further along the coast the food is even cheaper. It was our first trip to Turkey and we hope to return. The crowded Marmaris market is a must. "Genuine" designer tee-shirts at 5 for £10 (they gladly accept Stirling). There's a local bus into Marmaris centre which runs every few minutes and costs 1 lira. There are also cheap buses down the cost. We booked the airport stop over "mud bath and temples" trip for the last which was very interesting and broke the coach trip to the airport up nicely. TIPS: Take a mug for the hotel as the cups in the room are dinky! Always ask for English tea in the bars. While we saw no flies at all in Marmaris (the swallows gathered them all up) a mosi repellent would have been useful as we still got bit.

Okay, but not great

Although it was a clean appartment we did have a few teething problems, like no hot water for two days, no plugs, also four items of ours including beach towels disappeared from our rooms, although we reported this to the reception, we were unable to prove a thing.

The location is up a hill that is very, very steep, steeper than what I imagined.

The staff were lovely and helpful, and the beauty salon was excellent. Food was cheaper in the bar restaurant, than outside in Marmaris town centre.

Would return to the apartments again, but woud ensure nothing was left on show at the apartments.
