Prestige hotel & apart Marmaris: >Marmaris hotel

Päätien varrella oleva hotelli 3 km keskustaan ja 200 m rantaan.
Hotellilla iso uima-allas, ilmainen biljard.
Huoneet hotellissa hyvän kokoiset. Vaatteiden säilytykseen ei hyllytilaa, vähän vaateripustimia.
Vuodevaatteet,pyyhkeet vaihdettiin kerran viikossa.
Huono äänieristys huoneissa, yksinkertaiset ikkunat, ovilasit. Meteli kuuluu selvästi huoneisiin.
Kosteusvauriojälkiä huoneen katossa ja seinissä.
En suosittele rauhaa ja rentoutumista hakeville.

Avarat näkymät itään, peltoalue.
Iso uima-allas.
Migros supermarket lähellä.
Bussipysäkki hotellin vieressä.

Club Meridiyen or meridien Marmaris: Club Meridien Meridiyen hotel very good hotel

we stayed here for 2 weeks and it was a very friendly and clean place. we stayed as Bed and breakfast and we had a turkish breakfast (fresh olives, cheese, cucumbers, boiled eggs, turkish toast) we had tea/coffee which was included as part of the breakfast but we had fresh orange juice freshly squeezed which cost an extra £1 each and it was a tall glass! the best breakfast i have had through my travels. The hotel was clean when we came, the rooms were spacouis, and cleaned everyday. there was a nice turkish deor feel throughout and we saw some other hotels in the area and ours was the most modern decor.
the price was fine i think it £7-10 per night including breakfast and that was 10 years ago.
it had a small pool, a pool bar, and it was relatively in the quiete area away from the hustle and bustle of the nightlife and beach.
the beach and clubs/bars was about 5-10 minute walk and there was a club called veronicas round the corner too for those who didnt want to travel too far out. th ehotel had a lift and stairs. it was relatively calm and quiete as there were elderly and couples lik eourselves there. there were families with small or young children but i saw that there wasn't really much here for kids like a kids club etc as its only a noce small hotel.
there was entetainment like kareoke and belly danceing some evenings, but we always hit the beach front at eveings to grab something to eat.
there is a very small corner shop as soon as you step oout of the hotel next door to the hotel so if you need milk or snacks at night they have munchies and snacks there. there is a shopping market similar to Tesco's but its near the beach where KFC was, but still atleast they had one. there is a small corner fruit stall where a women used to sell fresh fruit and veg, but i dont know if she is still there. we would pick up afew apples or strawberries on th eway back to the hotel for munching on the balcony. the hotel has balconies on most rooms and we often chillled out and watched people go by. we met a lady who visited this hotel every year with her autistic niece and said she would always come to this hotel as it suits her and her niece so much and they need peace and quite and this was the place.
the staf at the hotel are really friendly and helpful. you had to only mention once and it would be done. the cleaners ar eall females and they were very helpful and quick. we were very happy with this hotel and would definately go back or recommend. would suit elderly, couples, honeymooners, families with small children. not suitable for youngsters/teenagers would get bored
its not a luxury hotel but its good a hotel and clean fast service with happy atmostphere.the only let down was that there wasnt much for couples and no kids club although we didnt have children with us then, as in entertainment, but there was something there a few times a week bellydnacing/kareoke etc

views of the hotel and you could see the sea and mountain from one side of the hotels balcony*the pool was nice and clean and quiete* had a pool and bar and it was a relaxed atmostphere*very clean inside out* rooms cleaned every day without fail and fast*
spacious rooms with bed and some rooms had a small seat where a third person could get a way from sleeping* shower and toilet nice and clean* friendly staff with happy service and approach* had a lift/elevator* 10 minutes walk or taxi ride to the beach front and habour where evrything was happening* nice quiete relaxed hotel* had a corner shop right outside for midnight snacks or munchies* i think there was a restaurant or pub sort of bar accross the road but it was small and quiete*has a supermarket in the area about 5 minute taxi ride away towards the beach near KFC and it sells everything from nappies to food and tinned food basically just like Tescos!*5 minute away from a small quiete club called Veronicas and has small restaurants just round the corner away for a night out etc very quiete during day and evening.*hotel offered entertainment once or twice a week during evenings like kareoke or bellydancing* YOU MUST TRY THEIR BREAKFAST its healthy and delicious *take your own toiletries as far as i can remember they didnt leave thos e small goodies but left loo roll so that was ok.* when we went there were mainly lots ok nice english families from UK.
hotel offers trips and excursions, we went through the guys who deal in the streets and had no problems with them, but we did travel once with the hotel. we only travelled with the guides who sell excurions form the streets as they worked out cheaper tha hotel but that was our risk we took

Ince Apartments: Icmeler Apartment

Hi there, we just came back from Ince apartments yesterday (25/07/08). Maybe already missed you.
Like you, we could find no info on the apartments. We arrived somewhat sceptical but found them to be very clean. Rooms were cleaned everyday by the wee old maid who turned out to be the owner. The pool area is slightly small, air con will cost you £4 per day and you can get a safety deposit box too (£40 for 2 weeks!!)
A walk into Icmeler centre will take around 15 mins. There is plenty for your teenage son to do. We had 2 young kids and really struggled for activities. Taxi's are expensive and a trip to Marmaris will cost around 20 lira (£8).

As for food, Deja Vu near the apartments is ok for a bite, food is available on site too. We dined either at 'Dreamboys' ask for Eric (very friendly and gives loads of free deserts, coffee etc) or at Maestro. Both were very good. You WILL get hassled by every restaurant to go in. If they hassle too much they get shut down for 3 days so say 'No Hassle' and they soon leave you alone.

I highly recommend the island hopping boat trip, you spend the day on a bot and get plenty of opportunities to swim in the sea. The tour operator opposite Maestro restaurant gives buy 1 get 1 free on tours.

You will have a great time, enjoy. Just do as the Ince (pronounced InJay) family say and you'll have no probs.

Pool area is small and the family get very offended if towels or sheets get dirty. We asked if we got any of our security deposit box deposit back at which we were shouted at in Turkish. The family Ince (InJay) make no effort for you and pretend to speak no English. They do just fine. Front of the hotel is very noisy and we had to get moved to the back. This was a major hassle.

Also the Scottravel rep is clealy in their back pocket and will give you no help. He bends over backwards for the owners though. I have sent a seperate complaint to them about this. We are not fussy people but would never return here.

If you are reading this and have already booked, don't panic. Just be aware of what I said about the family. They will try to bully you and intimidate you, don't let them. You'll be fine.

Apartments Pandora: Quite o.k.

We were here in our honeymoon-trip.We wanted to go to Venice or at least to Crete-island,but this was cheapest we could find, and we had not so much money.(Even that much as today..)
Hotel was quite new(year 1997),and somewhere you could still see something was not ready yet..But otherwice it was o.k.But the rooms were VERY HOT!Maybe they have air-conditioning today. We allmost didn´t sleep at all some nights. And we didn´t like, that they didn´t have double-bed.
We had a little laugh, when travel-agency said, that they will get something special for us because of the honeymoon. That "special" turned out to be a bottle of cheapest wine that was sold in shop nearby, and some flowers from bush next to hotel..We had heard many of our friends has get good wine, basket full of everything sweet, roses on the bed.. and so on..

Unique was trashplace outside the hotel ;) I think it´s gone now, because they were building new hotels all the time.

Senfoni Hotel: Basic hotel review

My husband and I were reluctant at first when we read reviews on this hotel.
We have booked "cheap deals" before and always plan to expect the worst so we are not disappointed.
it's quite charming and as you enter you get an overly warm welcome as you do in all places in Marmaris. The hotel has a bar and eating area and included a traditional Turkish breakfast ! (tea and coffee are also included but beware, the milk is goat's milk).
Off of the eating area is the pool and garden area. The pool was small but if you don't visit during peak season, you have it all to yourselves. The staff will bring drinks to the pool anytime you wish and food/snacks are served all day from 8am until 11pm.
The room was very basic, but we managed to get used to it. (after all, it was just over £150/person for the week including flights and transfer)! The room consisted of a double bed (not very comfortable but we slept), wardrobe, and 2 night tables. A small balcony with chairs were also present. The bathroom was the bigest suprise for 2 reasons.
1) it was a wide open big tiled area with a shower (no shower curtain or bath)
2) alot of the small hotels in the area had solar powered heat for the hot water, so you needed to plan your showers carefully based on the weather. We found this out after our first morning and a very COLD shower!
The room was cleaned everyday and towels/linen replaced every other day.
The owner had signs posted everywhere telling guests they were not allowed to bring food and drink into the hotel at all. (This obviously was because that's how he makes his money).
Our saving grace was the supermarket across the road where we bought bottled water and other little snacks and smuggled them in! (not to be rude, but after all, it's our holiday and we wanted drinks for the room sometimes when we didn't feel like sitting in the bar).
The owner knew alot of people and we booked 2 trips with him which were cheaper than walking on the front.

Good parts:

1) nice view of the mountains and mosque nearby
2)Friendly staff
3)Clean pool
4)300 metres to the beach
5)150 metres to the main road
6)Thursday market is only 1 road away near the mosque

For everyone...

From the accommodation point of view, there are plenty of possibilities in Marmaris from cheap to more expensive hotel, but all very convenient.

We have chosen a hotel located at 10min walking from the beach managed by a family of Turkish entrepreneurs that lived for a long time in Sweden and everything was just perfect.

They even waited for us late in the night when we arrived to Marmaris and offered us drinks for free.

The apartment, with a bedroom and a living with a kitchen corner, was only USD 18-.

There was no air conditioning but we really didn't feel the need.

In any case, even if you don't have a reservation and arrive to Marmaris, it's easy to find a good place to stay, as Marmaris offers abundant accommodation ranging from small pensions (guest houses) to luxurious 5 star hotels.

Interyouth hostel: the cheapest place

I spent some nights there. It cost 12 Lýra wýth Isýc card, but they don't really ask to see ýt. They are very friendly, for example Ý like covering at night but there wasn't any, so the attendant gave me a blanket. They created a female only dorm because Ý asked for it--except something went wrong and Ý woke up next to some hairy legs that did not belong to a woman. Ý had some problems meeting up with a friend in Marmaris and they were very helpful directing that person towards me even when Ý didn't stay there yet--not even at her expensive hotel people had forwarded my messages to her so Ý find this noteworthy.

I dıdn't book ın advance, and there was space.

They have a nice roof terrace with ocean or mountain view where you can get fresh OJ for 1 Lira and breakfast for 4, and they don't mind if you bring your own, even give you plates and cutlery and the guy at the bar insisted to cut my own tomatoes for me.

The rooms have only beds--mine had 4-- and 5 hooks--the lockers ( free) are small and only good for valuables, cameras etc. You can deposit your bag at the balcony behind the reception. Anything that can melt will do so becaue it will be in the sun. There are 3 floors of dorms and rooms and bathrooms. Hot water, clean. Doubles cost 30 Lira and they don't let them as --singles. The rooms are above the roof of the bazaar--a být sticky but not noisy.

I washed my handwashables to have them in the mornýng-- luckily I had a place by the window--otherwise there wouldn't be any place in the room to dry ýt. There wasn't any plug ýn the room and ýt's hard to pack when the party animals are all still sleepýng around you ýn the morning.

Maltepe pension: Your own chef

This guesthouse sounded like my absolute nightmare when I had finally found it: There is a pool disco right next to ýt. The owner ensured me that it would be quýet after 11 p.m., and oh wonder--it was quiet indeed. Even though it's now high season and this place ýs the cheapest for singles, there were vacancýes--I didn't book ýn advance.

There were some families staying at this place, so this gave me a safe feeling.

I had a single room wýth outside bathroom and brought it down to a little less than thirty Lýra. The owner takes only Turkish Lira. You get no receipt or anything and you have to be a little descrete about your dýscount to the other guests--if anyone runs to him and says you got one why not them you won't get one agaýn--even though when I peeped into hýs accounting book they had all got one.

The owner speaks only Turksish, but he might have English or French-speaking guests around to translate.

The room was clean and it had coat hanger and a table, and a plug, bathroom had hot water.

The best thing is that there is a kitchen with plenty of kitchen ware and several fridges for the guests. You may have to fight for cooking space as there were several families dooing cooking and dishes, plus the odd individual guests. What Ý didn;t like was that when Ý came out of my room one guests jumped away from the fridge a bit too quick and ran to his room, and Ý had heard the sound of a bottle falling back into its place.

Ýt was MY bottle--nobody else had their stuff in this fridge.

The owner leaves you alone whcih Ý like. he doesn't speak any English, but he'll get a guest to translate, Turkish not so well offs are staying there, too.

You are at the public beach, tourist office, internet cafe, not so-expensive-supermarket in 5 minutes or less.
