Turkish Cuisine
by traveloturc
Turkish cuisine is very rich. It is a must to have Turkish coffee after sea food, meat dishes and deserts. The famous honey of Marmaris can be tasted and purchased.
Fish is served in the restaurants around the wharf and the marina, on the Marmaris-Içmeler coast line, as well as in Çiftlik, Orhaniye, Selimiye, Bozburun and the Sögüt Saranda district.
Turkish cuisine can be found around the town while international cuisines and fast foods are located in the city centre and in Armutalan and Içmeler. Village dishes, gözleme , manti (Turkish ravioli) can found in and around restaurants in Bayir, Çiftlik, Turgut, Orhaniye and Çamlik. Open buffet in the hotels are also rich with local delicacies.

DAY TOUR TO DALYAN BY BOAT
by balhannah
I was picked up at 8.45am and taken to the Marmaris pier for my Day Tour. To my surprise, the Boat was huge, not the size that I had expected. I should think there would have been about 200 people on it. Upstairs, there was sunlounges and cushions to lay on, inside, Tables, Lounges & dance area and food bar.
1st stop was at a cove where if you wanted you could go for a swim in the Ocean.
Inbetween stops, lunch was had on the Boat, this was included in the price. It was Macaroni, Salad, Cooked Chicken, piece of Bread. If you wanted a Drink, that cost extra.
2nd stop was Turtle beach, a long sandy beach with heaps of different tour groups swimming here. Here, we transferred from the big Boat to smaller ones.
3rd stop was the Mud Baths. To get here, we went on one of the smaller Boats through the freshwater lake and the high Reeds, quite pretty. The Movie the "African Queen" was filmed here.
4th stop was infront of the Tombs that are carved in the cliffs.
A photo of every person/couple was taken on the way to the Mud Baths and on the way back of course, was given to you for a look hoping that you would buy. I must say, that they were very well done, really nice, and only cost 10 t/l.
Back to port after a full day.
What really spoilt this day for me, was the dancing by a young group of Turkish people on the tour for the day. The dancing was ok., but they had the music turned up extremely loud, so loud, that it vibrated through my body!! There was no escaping it, I tried, and it was still pretty loud on the deck, and on the way back it was cool sitting on the deck. This happened there and back.
I was really looking forward to this tour but didn't enjoy it, the music wrecked it - way too loud, too big a boat with too many people, not much of an inclusive lunch.
The Tour company was Orca Tours and cost was 30t/l I wouldn't recommend them.
